Using Seraflex or Maraflex thread is an absolute game changer. A little more expensive but really worth it to be able to construct a knit garment in the same way as a woven one. No more zig zag stitching! I still serge/overlock to finish my seams and your advice re waviness is so useful.
I've tried it a handful of times and I do love how it works! I personally love using that to finish hems that need to stretch so you can have neat topstitching :)
So glad you love the tips! Oooh its exciting sewing knits for the first time, I hope it goes well - it definitely took me a few tries before I got the hang of it :)
Wavy seams are my problem 😂 I’m gonna try your tips! I heard someone say you can straight stitch knits as long as you stretch while sewing. Is that okay?
So glad you love my tips! I would definitely avoid using a straight stitch and stretching the fabric, this will just create wavy seams. If you don’t use an overlocker, I recommend a zig-zag stitch on your sewing machine ❤️

Great tips, Tammy. Do you use jersey needles in your overlocker too?
Glad you found the tips useful! Good question!! I actually have no idea, I have just always used the needles that came in the overlocker 😂

I use a serger for my seams, but somehow the seams still pop if stretched. Any suggestions?
That’s very strange! What number are the 4 top dials at?
For me I think it’s always the tension of the thread
