ABOUT SPEAKER
Ajahn Brahmavamso Mahathera (lovingly known to most as Ajahn Brahm) was born Peter Betts in London, United Kingdom in August 7, 1951. He came from a working-class background, and won a scholarship to study Theoretical Physics at Cambridge University in the late 1960s.
After graduating from Cambridge he taught in high school for one year before travelling to Thailand to become a monk and train with the Venerable Ajahn Chah Bodhinyana Mahathera.
Whilst still in his years as a junior monk, he was asked to undertake the compilation of an English-language guide to the Buddhist monastic code - the Vinaya - which later became the basis for monastic discipline in many Theravadan monasteries

While registered as a Buddhist not-for-profit association, Buddhist Society of Victoria (BSV) welcome members of all backgrounds and religions.
Located in Melbourne, our East Malvern centre hosts programs that guide members on meditation; as well as practical Buddhist teachings for kids, teenagers, and adults.

Please keep meditating and adopt a very healthy, vegan diet. Please also keep yourself busy doing safe and compassionate (non-harming to any sentient beings) things that you enjoy and do lots of relaxation exercises, meditation and also hypnosis for anxiety, and other relaxing things like going to the beach and being in nature.

In a quite meditation bhavana, instructions must be explained at the beginning so that bhavana practiceners can learn comfortably.
Metta bhavana and do meditation and achieve calmness and peaceful mind and relaxed physic.

May I be happay, May I be healthy, May I be free from sufferings, May my loved ones be happy,............, May people who are indifferent to me be happy................ May people who hate me be happy............ May all beings be happy..............(this is the real Buddhist Metta Meditation)

Ganriel Alexander got nothing to do with them. May they be happy and the mind/heart response is our karma...got nothing to do with them. Aside from the wish to do no harm..
Guided meditation is not meditation, it's hypnotism 🙏🙏
This was metta meditation not meditation, he has videos where he guides vipassana meditation and the majority of the time he’s silent

I found this to be a powerful meditation when directed toward The Lord Jesus Christ.
Sure. I wonder how the idea of a creator exists? This world suffers from desire, aversion, dilusion, which causes killing, fighting, quarries, rape, wrong views, wrong doings. This is a hunger game fighting ground in a way. Nobody created the world, nobody. You have to rescue yourself by being rid of desire, aversion, and delusion caused by ignorance. Thinking there's a creator is part of ignorance and wrong view. May Jesus be happy

one man said his cat is ill, he took 500zloty from me, besides a tablet. i saw his cat ,he is not well nourished,thin, but all right. The lier deceived me.
he spent my money in casino , he is a gambler.
I don't think this is Metta. This is talking about a cat that is dying. This would be compassion. Compassion is seeing someone's pain but loving them anyway. Metta and Compassion seem to be mixed up here.
The bigger problem here is that this brings up sadness and unhappiness. This is the opposite of what I think should be developed, which is a wholesome loving feeling. I have never heard such a strange Metta meditation!
After this all I feel is sadness...
+David Johnson (BegintoSee) Compassion is a wholesome feeling. Metta, when developed naturaly tends to turn into compassion. Compassion is seeing someones pain and wanting to alleviate it. It is a very pleasant feeling when done well. Ajahn brahms metta mediation is actually the best one you will find. Usualy it is just reciting good wishes with no empasis on the emotional aspect. The whole point is to actualy feel it, which this mediation does very well.
I don't dispute that compassion is wholesome but he is doing a guided meditation on Metta. Thus he should be bringing up a happy feeling and not talking about unhappy cats which brings up painful unhappy feeling. The goal of Metta meditation, of course, is to develop the feeling of Loving-kindness and radiate that feeling to all yourself and all beings.
If you want a powerful Metta meditation that will take you through the Brahmaviharas automatically - as talked about in the Suttas, you might check the instructions at this website. No mantras or repeating phrases over and over. Just a powerful feeling that takes you deeply into your mind and a way to eliminate hindrances easily. www.dhammasukha.org/beginner---lovingkindness.html
David Johnson Thank you for the link, I'll check it out. If this one makes you feel unhappy then maybe it is not suitable for you. Different meditations work for different people, that's why we have all these different objects of meditation.

I can only speak for myself, but this gave me very good feelings, including when thinking about saving the kitten.
Metta alone is powerless. Ajahn is combining metta and compassion. If listening he said when you hear kitten think about who you care for who most likely like the cat is suffering. What good is metta to a homeless person without the extension of metta...ie compassion...i work with dying people...i have both metta and karuna for them...but happy about their suffering ...no...
