Then why was it a technical knockout? Floyd will never honestly say anything about his opponents. He just laughed at Augustus. But he considers the fight with Castilio as easy, although the judges' decision was more important than the accuracy and quality of Castilio's fight. He overboxed there and was even 1% more accurate (43% for Floyd vs. 44% for Castilio)
Top Rank commentary is so dreadful. The bias for their fighters are just always too strong. Mayweather was beating Augustus up. but Augustus was putting in some good work too with his strange and fun style. The only credit Augustus gets from the commentator is that he keeps coming, but there's more to him than that.

The Commentators Biased and un-technical analysis really made this cringe. They both are phenomenal. Floyds quickness and fight IQ to hit gaps in the defense is amazing, and beautifully complimented by Agustus’s twitchy slips, consistent jab, and unorthodox movement. A dance we can all enjoy if you’re educated enough to understand what is happening.
The commentator was truly biased much like the judges that Emmanuel had to deal with throughout his career. I do think Floyd took this, but it would have been nice to see credit given when it was due. This was truly a classic. Both men were incredible.

This is still my favorite fight of all time. I watch it a couple times a year and notice new things each time. A perfect matchup between supreme technical skill/conditioning and instinctual wildcard energy. Each a master in a completely different way. While Floyd handily showed The Drunken Master that skills are king, Augustus gave him some amazing work and a well-bloodied nose. No clinching from either, just beautiful boxing and unrelenting heart from both men for the entire fight. So happy that TR put out a remastered version of it.

He thinks he is superhuman and everyone else is subhuman. He always has been. So don't try to cite Floyd's words as evidence. He's never honest especially when he talks about his opponents.
If you were only listening to this fight without video, you would think Augustus didn't land any punches the way the commentator called the fight

This guy is in the wrong sport. He’s not a boxer he’s a gladiator.
This was high level technical boxing between 2 fighters in their prime that should be used to teach kids how feinting, parrying, framing, among the other little nuances like Emanual switching between orthodox and southpaw. It’s a shame how bad the commentating was, really could have been used as a teachable moment in real time to show its viewers what they were actually seeing and how lucky to be seeing this fight on free TV.
so i guess people don't know why the commentator is so against emanuel augustus, so let me explain it briefly.
emanuel's style was always disliked by critics, commentators, and basically anyone who was at the top level of the business. they thought that his style was disrespectful to do in the ring, because they view that his style takes away from boxing's legitimacy as a highly technical sport, and didn't like changes to the orthodoxy of how boxing is supposed to be done. Old people don't like change, so when they see someone straying so far from the accepted norm, they don't know what else to do but be against it.
many of emanuel's fights went to decision, and were given to his opponent despite emanuel being the clear winner
Have to watch the fight with no volume the commentator bouncing on it with max enthusiasm

Augustus seems like he has no real pop in his punching but his form and technique for punching is amazing at almost every angle
Floyd was taking some shots. Look at his face!!! He was busted up too. Augustus although he obviously was losing the fight, he killed Pretty Boy Floyd that night, and turned him into Money Mayweather. He completely changed Floyd’s style after this from an offensive fighter looking for the knockout to a defensive counterpuncher that holds his opponents and goes for the decision. And fck this biased announcer. I had to turn the volume off just to enjoy the fight. Let this announcer tell it, Augustus didn’t land a punch all night, but Floyd’s face says otherwise. And Floyd himself admitted that after the fight.

And his comments about Augustus are just trolling. The technical knockout says otherwise that Emanuel himself was the clown and his dancing is a laughing stock.
Floyd has never been sincere about the skills of his opponents. The only one who statistically outboxed Floyd a bit in terms of punch accuracy, quantity and sometimes quality was Castillo (44% accuracy vs 43% I think in one of the rounds)
But when Floyd says Castilio is a bad boxer, then in reality he's not. I noticed this trick a long time ago.

IV's before fights.His team are experts at hiding it ducking and dodging the type of drug tests that should be had.
