- LST 325 locked through Lock 19 at Keokuk downbound to Evansville, Indiana on September 14, 2023 after locking upbound on August 26, 2023. LST 325 is the last fully functional Landing Ship Tank remaining in the country and is moored in Evansville for 11 months out of the year but every summer they go to 3 port cities over the course of a month. This past summer, they went to Lacrosse, Wisconsin; Dubuque, Iowa; and Hannibal, Missouri where they let people on for a tour. www.lstmemoria...

My Grandfather was on LST 293 in WWII. Cool that they keep this ol boat floating!
How awesome was that ...dang I missed it ..thanks for making a clip for us that didn't get to see !!!
What a treat?! Fantastic view point.
Many thanks.
In the early 1960s I rode one of these as a ferry in Hiroshima Bay between Kure and the island of Eta Jima.
I am a WW2 history fanatic & that was beyond cool.
Dad was on LST 1126 in 1960s but I was a bit too young to have memory of it: only know from photographs that it was same or very similar style as this one. Dad got more interested in trains after learning the EMD 567 diesels the Snohomish County had were same type as in EMD locomotives. He also tells about being at sea empty, standing in the well deck, and watching the hull flex with the swells.
I’ve Been on that exact ship when it was docked in Cincinnati Ohio it’s powered by a EMD 567
My late Uncle drove a LST at Normandy.
I toured this ship as well. Not sure what that awful wracked was at the start of the video though.
Wow
LST : Landing Ship Transport/ Long Slow Target
This is so confusing to me
Needs no music, but you supplied an irrelevant tune anyway. Thumbs Down.
