tanaka is such a relatable character most of us are average at what we do and he's such a good representation of that not being crazy talented at smth isn't an excuse I tear up every time he has that speech
Tanaka doesn't have that true X factor physically to go to big leagues, but there's a reason he's literally been full time in every game of theirs and never switched out.
That idea of ‘If I’m really that average I definitely don’t have the time or luxury of whining about being average’ has been such a help in my life. Like haikyuu is so real for that
Tanakas moment made me cry because he nearly was close to losing it because he was just in his head. And that mental toughness won them the set. Tanaka my goat.
In my opinion about 'Broken Heart' not only just for Kanoka rejection but also for Tanaka's Strong determination about everything he does. Just like how Ennoshita said that Tanaka was the only one 2nd year that never leave from the club activity (for suspenson or absent), Kanoka also said that Tanaka is Straghtforward and honest person. So everything Tanaka said always a blunt comment or word and also his honest word. It kinda showed us, how consistent Tanaka is. Thats why the tittle is Broken Heart, not only for Kanoka feeling toward Tanaka but also for explaining How Consistent Tanaka strong determination that he never losing himself or even changing his feeling that quickly toward other people or volleyball.
tanaka is one of the best karasuno spiker for a reason. he's not flashy with his skills, people often overlooked it for his brash actions but when he hits, he hits. this arc proves that his unshakable mental and determination are the key of his driving force. goated character fr
"my average self.. do you really have time to look down like that?” Tanaka has been my favourite character on this show from the first watch. He has been so efficient always, even more so than Asahi probably. Punishes every time when block formation is not good by opponents. No 1-1.5 man block stops Tanaka, ever. He has versatile selection of shots, straight or cross. His defense is actually really good and he is always there for hustle, saving so many points by connecting. He is the highest motor player on the team. He has been always loyal to the club as its been said in this episode, he plays every minute of games. He is the definition of mental fortitude. In this episode, they are giving subtle hints towards Tanaka peak. He misses some shots by barely, mostly because of bad passes etc. You can see his frustration through these tiny moments. He is trying to remain in the game, as he always does, but his facial expression changes over time. That is the first time we see his weaknesses at the deepest, his lack of confidence in his skill. Doubt. Animation of walking up the stairs has been done beautifully. We first saw him running, then slowing and eventual stop. But there is no way but up. You can't change the god-given talent you have. All you can do is keep on climbing the ladder, try your best. Its a very beautiful message imo, very relatable for all of us. Another fun fact, we see Tanaka getting impressed by Bokuto with his incredible cross shot and trying to imitate. There are several scenes foreshadowing this shot, which is cool. Also Bokuto through the episode living Tanaka's mental state, getting even more angry/frustrated on his behalf. They are very similar in nature, both looking goofy guys that has infiinite energy but they are 2 of the most dedicated people in volleyball in the show, so this Tanaka arc ending with a "Bokuto shot" was pretty poetic.
0:46 "What about his brother? Give his brother some love." 😂 I love the Tanaka episode so much! Definitely one of my favorites in the whole show. The first time I watched it, I full on cried and this time, I teared up. Such a well done and deserved episode, with an amazing and hype moment to win the set! I'm glad y'all enjoyed it a lot as well.
That moment of all of you guys screaming "YEAH" is EXACTLY why I wanted yall to watch this series!!! A couple of friends and I watched this season together and that was us ESPECIALLY the last couple of episodes
when i first watched this episode i didnt think much of it just as a good haikyuu episode and then about an year later i started rewatching haikyuu and this episode hit different
Episode 16 is one of my favorites and never fails to bring the waterworks 🥹 You can't NOT love Tanaka. And when Hinata goes and lifts him up 😭 just sooooo good. ❤ So many moments I can't wait for yall to get to. Especially in episodes 20 and 22.
It's not that the guys just forgot how to recive a serve, they've never actually met anyone with such versatility when it comes to it. Sure oikawa had a quick shot with precision but is nothing compared to how many diffrent refinements he has to seervering. There are a lot of layers that they need to get used to😅you can't deny how good husband really is
0:45 I assure you he's v loved & osamu husband believers exist (just not v loud in comparison to atsumu hype rn ig). the better husband material & the better miya twin trust 🙏 I'm saying this lovingly & semi-jokingly, atsumu enjoyers you can have that man & his choice of poor hair color

I really dropped it, and came back after forgetting how bad it was. But with the knowledge it was bad my expectations readjusted and was able to finish. It’s a shame the series ends with the movies, but at least the animation for the last movie is amazing. Can’t wait for them to react to it.
Tanaka's loyalty to his own feelings is admirable. He really is the MVP of mental health

Finally!! I was looking forward to tanaka’s episode so much since they like tanaka so much and always mentioned how tanaka’s spike never misses!
THATS WHY HES THE GOAT, THE GOATTTT

There are lots of interesting youtube videos about this moment and brilliance of Tanaka as a character, I would highly suggest.
It's so great seeing them react to this Tanaka arc, they are the only reactors that have been praising continuously our boy since the beginning
Props to Brig for recognizing the japan head coach.
When i watched the Tanaka episode for the first time i crieddd😭 (tanaka 4ever my fav character🗣❤)
0:13 Just gotta love how they refer to Miya Atsumu as "husband" now 😂😂

I need tanaka in my life, he is mentally so strong and try to always be optimistic. I love him so much.
I remember the first time i watched this, and did not expect myself to cry the most at Tanakas episode, but i did.
"We invested in bitcoin in 2011" hahaha honestly you guys and Ange from Carlie and Ange are the only people who appreciate Tanaka truly. He's the GOAT
when i first watched this episode i didnt think much of it just as a good haikyuu episode and then about an year later i started rewatching haikyuu and this episode hit different
Everyone having their moments during this match, is why it's sooo goated. Tanaka needed this!
I forgot it's Monday lmao. Lezz goooo!
Bro at this point ur not even haters no more😭
Even if ur an anime hater it's impossible to hate Haikyuu.

That tanaka moment and some many more is why this will always be the best match!
I am here for the Tanaka appreciation. I'm so happy ya'll love my boy. 💙
jack at 23:52. that took me out 😂 it has the same energy when ppl try to tease that oikawa has never been to nationals 😂
"What's lame isn't losing the match... it's to be scared of the match!"
One of my favorite quotes 🤩
The art is wierd cus a different studio drew them cus of covid
Episode 15 was made by a different studio and the animation looked like doo doo. So the blu ray version looked a lot better
I forgot there is a blue ray version, maybe this wont suck after all
Episode 16 is definitely my favorite episode of the whole anime. It left such a profound impact on me.
The Tanaka build up is such a real moment!
19:00 : Mckay "Oh noooo" my first see to reaction same too
12:45 AND THAT'S HOW I MET YOUR MOM

Yes, I'm with you, I adore Osamu

Idk the whole story but from anime haters to jokingly calling an anime man "husband" I'm so proud of you guys 😂

I should watch the bluray version cuz i watched it in og and the episode nearly made me drop the anime cuz of how offensive the art was

here it comes to the weirdest animation eps
You should've kept 'TANAKA THE REAL 🐐' or atleast something about him. Sorry! But I'm so disappointed in you guys. 👎
I agree, using the generic "Anime haters" title for these episodes is pretty lame.
@angelar7365 super ultra lame yaar
