NG has an entire mythology surrounding the Fiends, Black Spider Clan and the Hayabusa village, most of them are found on dead ninjas you find in the levels. NG:DS and NG2 were able to show Ryu can be a compassionate person, when it either comes to his loved ones (children of the Hayabusa village) or respect towards his enemies and rivals (Genshin in NG2 and even NG3) Many people just don't find out about any of this because they don't pay attention. There's more to the universe than you think.
It’s crazy to me that all you have to do to perform these sick moves is the press/hold of the “y” button. It’s a mechanic that rewards the player for proper use of weapons and once utilized to their potential the game become atleast twice as fun. (The game is tough but Ryu is farrrrrrrr from uncapable)
The UTs are a wonderful spectacle of overkill, and the OT's are a perfect blend of efficiency and brutality. Man, I really wanna get back to this game, even though I'm not that good at it.
i love the Vigoorian flail for the ultimate technique. he just swings it hand-over-hand like he's a man powered chainsaw. For the regular obliterations the Lunar staff is kind of fun.Blunt force to bloody chunks is both disgusting and awesome to watch. for the bosses though, i really like the Talons. it just looks like each step is a painful stab.
I preferred the Tonfa, for the same reason as you. Ryu strikes the terrified Ninja so hard his limbs burst.😂 Even better, once fully upgraded, you can actually see the younger, frightened kids trying to avoid getting turned to shit, and my favorite bit, if Ryu strikes the sweet spot, the bulge on the undercarriage, wet and stinky StenchPad. *WHACK * _"NNNNNNNNGGGGHHH FUUUUCK"_
That's the joy of it. The challenge is set high and feels that more satisfying when beating it. It's a fantastic feeling that games didn't have until Ninja Gaiden on Xbox came out and people started to take consideration to make games with actual challenge. To be honest, if you think Ninja Gaiden is hard, you'll get wrecked in God Hand.
This is why NG3RE is still a failure... NG2: Multiple Ultimates for each weapon, not just one. More weapons, always good to see someone get wrecked by the tonfas. The Obliteration Techs are not stupid. These make much more sense, even for a Dragon Ninja. Essence. Need I say more?

They also killed my favourite chapter (11 in ng2, 14 ngs2). The additional content is still quite convincing, especially since ng2 has nothing much to offer outside it's story mode. I'm just glad I have both versions lol
MegaDarkYuki Well, that is why we have higher difficulty settings. :) Sure, Sigma 2 may not create a positive first impression (especially if you're familiar with the original), but it's still a kickass game, that lives up to the name of the legendary franchise, unlike the QTE fest, that is NG3 (not sure if Razor's Edge fixes anything, i coudn't be bothered).
RE has a lot less. Although, combat wise...they made it slightly better, But enemies like the sword alchemists...its still No skill involved and more luck based to stunlock for a combo.
Agreed. It's the weakest of Ryu's weapons but certainly makes up for it wither it's very far reach, crowd control, and ability to hook in pull in most enemies.

My favourite NG game, I love how violent it is and the different fatalities for each weapon against each enemy/boss. Some people may complain about it being cheap and forcing the player to abuse i-frames via UTs (which is true), but I still fancy this game. OG NG was amazing too, but the camera was so bad and there wasn’t as much gore as here, so that’s why I prefer NG2 over it (as for NG3… let’s not talk about it…).

The only problem I have with this video is how it only showcases the obliterations of Black Spider Clan, Imps and Lycans. There are different obliterations for the Waterskaters, Mechs from chapters 7 and 8, and Fiend Cyborgs from chapter 9 to name the ones off the top of my head.
The xbox and ps3 each have their own directors. The ps3 game director for the sigma titles is responsible for NG3 failure. Since Tomonobu itagaki was fired from team ninja and is Xbox ninja gaiden titles are regarded as the better versions
There is an obliteration technique missing with the Eclipse Scythe. The purple monster at 2:27 when it's head is cut off ryu would stab is in the stomach and cut it in half.

Yes, but it's still based on the engine that makes NG3 and still has a lot of the design choices that most people do not agree with. It's better by a large margin, but not up to the heights of its precursors.
How did you get this video with such high frames per second? (usually television is 29 fps, even monitors connected to the xbox 360 only do 30 fps, correct me if im wrong)
@Ibacheese For the Ultimates, no u can control which ones you do. For example the True Dragon Sword u can either hold triangle or do a 360 analog movement and hold triangle. As for the Obliterations it's both random and non random. For the Draon Sword each limb u cut of either arm, leg, or head determines wich OT u use. It's random b/c for legs and arms there's two different OT's that are used randomly. Same applies for other weapons if they have 2 UT's, and OT's as well. Hope that helped.
That's just people speculating because in one scene there was purple essence when someone died. I read that topic and no-one there actually knew what they were on about.
With the Ultimate Technique attacks, are all the different variations automatic, or can I control them, or is it dependent on the formation of the enemies? And were the Obliteration Technique attacks automatic? Or can you control what you do in the middle of the attack, such as when he jumps off the giant blind boss's arm? And one last question, is there anything special I need to do to use these attacks, because I finish a boss fights just by attacking, then it goes to cutscene. Please respond.

The enemies I noticed that were missing were the Gajas, the flying Van Gelfs, the female spider mechs, those big mechs that can fly, and those large purple zombie things with the chainsaw and cannon on each of their arms. And I think they're missing because Ryu uses the same obliterations on them as he does on enemies already shown in this video. Where specifically are these larger ghost fish at, I've never even noticed them o_O
@lskre I don't think you need to worry about another Sigma since NG3 will go multiplatform in the first go. It will be released on PS3, XBOX360 and Wii U a bit later. What there's to worry about though is the fact that the same team that did Sigma 2 is behind the third. Less said about those E3 videos from that game the better.

I noticed that when you dismember the enemy during combat, you don't cut off the right leg unless if it's a obliteration techinique.
I love that Obliteration Technique in Dual Katana's in The Final Battle. That was my first time how I crushed Archfiend.

Where specifically are these larger ghost fish at, I've never even noticed them o_O
@lskre I don't think you need to worry about another Sigma since NG3 will go multiplatform in the first go. It will be released on PS3, XBOX360 and Wii U a bit later. What there's to worry about though is the fact that the same team that did Sigma 2 is behind the third. Less said about those E3 videos from that game the better.
At 4:25, Fighting Soul kicks in. BADASS theme of the ninja right there to go with the badass execution moves in this game.
