Uploading music before the album has been released has been a great experience, as I am able to hear feedback from all of you as I work on new music. Negative and positive, it all helps so much. So that having been said, what are your thoughts on the album so far?
Marcus Warner
For Me, the musics of this Album so far are mostly like meditation music
To be honest, not as big a fan yet of this overall album as I am of Oceans or Liberation (but possibly on par with GFM). That said, I REALLY enjoyed this track in particular and love the songs you make with a twinge of East Asia flair.
I certainly love the variety that's being introduced with this album. I think there's something for everyone in here. I'm continually impressed as your work keeps evolving. Tokyo Rain is definitely one of my favorites of your works!
@AtrusOranis What is it you find makes this album less appealing than previous releases? You've been around since GFM, that's awesome. I'd like to hear your thoughts.
@CheeseyStudios thank you so much!
I love the idea that this album is about some places that you’ve travelled to and how it has a mix of different kinds of sounds. It’s not quite as epic as some of your previous releases, but I don’t find it any less appealing than the others. They’ve all been songs I enjoy listening to. This song specifically reminds me a little of Aloe & Lotus in the way that it has a hint of East Asian elements thrown into the track. Absolutely love it ❤️
This is one of those songs that can never be overplayed.
It's UNFAIR that composer like you aren't that famous. I mean compare to your musical quality :(
he doesn't market or brand himself.. if he did he would have a massive audience by now.
Well, he should market himself. This music needs to seen and heard by the masses! This piece, in particular, is quite haunting in all the good ways: it not only tells a story, but I find that the ending, though simple, really delivered quite a bit of emotion itself.
his music should easily be in movies for how good it is....
Alon mor then
@TheTruth Spy but not anyone can use software packages and compose such great tracks, i think those who can do that are truly few, and Marcus is the one
Around 3:20 is my favourite part of this song. I had it playing, and my 6 year old son just told me that he likes this song so much that he wishes it would go forever
Oh...the whole music particularly that part..
Ah! He is connected to the gods, then.
Aw, that's cute, agreed though. 3:20 always gets me feeling motivated on a rainy day!
This album is so different. I've followed your music for a few years now, and fell in love with the sweeping melodies and vocals of songs like Africa and The Calling. They were inspirational, vast, existential. The Captain's Dance has always been one of my favorites for being one of your songs that tells an audible story. I liked Way of Honour for similar reasons. This album isn't like those. (I wish I had the composer's vocabulary to talk about it, but I don't, so I'll muddle through.) It's woven through with some of the grand crescendos and gorgeous vocals of your earlier work, but it's also more present. Quieter. More understated. Peaceful, to me, but still with the ability to transport the imagination. It feels more daily. Anyway, that was a long rambling way of saying, it's different, but I think it's more intimately beautiful. Oh, for goodness' sakes. All these words and I'm not closer to explaining it than I was at the beginning. Kudos to you, then, Warner, for creating something so nearly indescribable.

I wholeheartedly agree with your analysis. This piece and others like it in the album are definitely similar in that they have a more nuanced tone that doesn't necessarily grab your attention initially. While some people may see that as a weakness, I have taken to understanding it in a different way. I believe that you are correct in your statement that the piece is "more intimately beautiful." This track does not try to appeal through pure emotion, but instead attempts to connect with people's sense of imagination and memory. Through my own interpretation, this kind of music uses your past experiences in life to paint a picture of this parallel life that you never lived. Of course, it is all highly subjective considering the fact that everyone takes something different away from music. That being said, I do personally agree with all of your points, barring one. If someone is given enough time and has the will to do so, almost anything can be described through interpretation. You wrote your synopsis well and given the nature of what you where reviewing, it was hardly an undemanding feat to accomplish in a comprehensive manner.
To that, I would like to applaud you on your effort and wish you good luck in all your future endeavors.

Thank you for that endorsement, I sincerely appreciate that--doubly so because it came from a RUclips comments section, and I swear half the time I read these everything on them is negative. Anyway, I'm glad it made sense to someone. And I'm glad you mentioned memory and imagination & the idea of living a life you never lived. I was doing through a bunch of psych experiment studies and various articles for a research project a few months ago, and stumbled across something really interesting: when you read a book, your mind processes what you are reading the same way it processes and stores memory. (Smells, tastes, sights, sounds, everything.) Imagination is so vivid that your brain actually records it AS MEMORY. It's why stories and books are so vivid to us, and were long before we began mastering the art of film. We're able to distinguish what we have and have not lived ourselves, of course (barring psychological disorder), but I think that's why music like this is so powerful, and stays with us so long after we've heard it. It folds itself into our memory, kind of like a parallel life.
My top 5 masterpieces of Marcus Warner
1. In the end
2. Tokyo rain
3. A tale of sea dragons
4. Africa
5. if I should return
Wintersong and Oceans?
And let's not forget Kingdoms ofcource.
I always felt like dance of the river spirits was severely underappreciated
After the Rain or City of Sails? Those songs are how I got hooked!😂😂
저도 반갑습니다!!!!
안녕하세요.
Africa is number 1 to me. It is difficult to topple aboriginal singers. :)
From Evening Star and ponies to Marcus Warner, your music will never stop bringing me to tears and utter awe.
It's so amazing to see how much Marcus' music has grown over the years. Truly inspiring.
Wait, Marcus Warner is Evening Star? That explains so much! Their music is so similar! And why the Recommended lists at the side of each keep featuring each other!
@@christinew1644 been a fan of Marcus Warner/Evening Star for years now, was a bit hyped after hearing he's going to remaster Evening Star. Never been more excited in my life just for an orchestral album
This actually reminds me of rainstorms in Tokyo, of the rain hitting the top windows and the wind rattling the drying lines on the roof. And being able to just stay home and work with music like this in the background with my cats hanging out next to me on the couch with cooling tea set on the table, the low couch that my family would always complain about but I loved, walking down the streets to the market with my rain coat and umbrella attempting to cover my bags and not let my food for the day get all soggy and wet. Thank you so much for reminding me of my life that I loved and I wish I could go back to that time...
I am very happy as a Japanese person. when I listen to this music,I feel the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and emotions that do not appear on the face behind it.
When you just sit in the car, staring out the window, thinking about "life"... It's amazing where music can take your mind and Marcus does an AMAZINGLY EPIC job of this...Well done
This piece sounds very personal, I think it'd work really well in a character-driven story, maybe as the theme for the friendship between two characters. I'm imagining maybe one character has gone through an epic adventure to save his friend, and he succeeded, but at a cost, he was stuck in the spirit realm, able to watch the world unfold but not interact with it. And this could play over the bittersweet montage when he watches his friend live out a full life without him. Something like that anyway, it sounds adventurous, but also very personal and character-driven. It also seems to have a sense of conclusiveness as well, I'm not sure exactly why but it sounds like the last piece in a film score, that would play over the final scene, it has this strong sense of ending and finality. In any case it sounds awesome, great work!
@bud Charles try reading 'The adventurer's guild'. It's a bit like the story you described, and fits really well with this song. :)
I actually got goosebumps while reading that and hearing the music
時々聴きたくなる曲。その時、曲とイメージは思い出すのに曲名とアーティストは思い出せない…
We need more music like Marcus's in the world.
The intimate entanglement between modernistic sweeping sounds and traditional nostalgic keys, the rush and the eloquence, dancing in harmony. Indeed, this is the embodiment of Tokyo.
And here I am wondering why this music was not included in Weathering With You.
Oh did you watch the film? I finished watching it and this music totally sounds like it should be added to the movie 😊

This song speaks from the soul.
This song makes me feel so deeply, openly, humanly and imperfectly alive 😭🙌🥹
The only bad thing about Marcus' music is that it ends. I know it is cliché to say it, but its true and I don't think it will ever change.
The music is not repetitive and yet conveys a common theme and character development.
Marcus is the GOAT of music
This is my favorite. I can imagine myself walking at festive night, looking at fireworks. Love the atmosphere of this music.
Thank you Marcus Warner. I love your music. I'm currently writing a book series about urban fantasy, with magic and a secret parallel world and your music is my main soundtrack I'm listening to when I'm writing. Thanks for your emotional and beautiful songs.
last December, I had the amazing trip to go to Japan. And the rain is... beautiful. I only wish i was able to see such a view like this. my family got lucky that we got there and back right before the outbreak.
I keep coming back to this. This is like one of the most beautiful pieces of music that I have ever heard
This never gets old or boring. Every time I listen, I'm transported somewhere else for a minute or two that I wish were bit longer....
EternityKX your welcome 🙏🏽
Your music will forever be nostalgic and special to me. Youve made my childhood already. When I come back and listen to this it brings me back to my senses and makes me realize my passions again. Thank you
Hey Marcus! Fantastic work! If anyone ever wanted to use your music in their RUclips videos, what's the process for that like? :)
So, Father Goo too likes this types of music. I like your taste Father.
No reply, F 😔

Appreciate this track even more after you explained how you created it, what a masterpiece, kudos Marcus.
All of these subtle tones and hums all intertwined are so healing. Gentle yet powerful. Thank you for this beautiful piece.
Your my favourite composer Marcus, and yet I'm still surprised when you release something this awesome. Thank you. Never stop.
This is my favorite album. It is magical.
I miss old times, when I listen to this song everytime I study
I found this by chance on spotify and I can't stop listening to this masterpiece! Its so soothing, yet, it gives an exhilarating feeling! Great job on creating such music!!
same here. And the part starting at 2:40 disrupts me regularly while working, because I cannot code while trying to clap to the rhythm... :)
I just meditated to this wondrous music, cried great tears of absolute joy at the peak of it!
This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard! I almost can't fathom how overwhelmed with emotion this song makes me!
😭😭❤💛 These sounds are sooo beautiful!! They tell a story of their own in every melody!! Beautiful beautiful piece!!!
Stunning. Love it more than most music with vocalized words. This is timeless. Makes me want to laugh, cry, dance and sleep all at the same time.
First heard this on Spotify and it has so many overtones of Kitaro... whose work I love. Instantly followed.
I love this. It's truly a masterpiece. It brings me joy.
The best epic song I've heard this year, so far! It almost like a New Year's Anthem
I literally cannot stop listening to this. I keep especially going back to the 3:13 mark and listening through over and over again. This is an amazing piece, and it’s really helping me get through something major right now. Thank you. Seriously. Thank you. 🙏🏻
東京、日本。このサムネイルのように日本の「電線」というのは世界から見ても興味があるらしいですね。いつか、他の国々がしているように地下に設置しようという考えがあります。オリンピック以降になりそうですが、、、
There should not be NO dislikes AT ALL. This is REAL MUSIC right here yo 💯
Well, Marcus.
I follow your music since a couple years ago (probably 4, I can't remember it well) And I can tell you that when an artist grow, it shows a lot. All your music has been perfect, but this new album tells to me one story, your travel journey, and allows me to follow your growing up process as artist (and I'm sure that as a person too) I've thinking that the connection between artist and fan is when the fan thinks that the masterpieces was created for him/her. And I'm always sure that you create music for me.
Thank you so much, Marcus.
Man, I just realized that all my favourite songs that I've been listening to are from the same composer .. how did I never notice? Marcus, blessed are all these songs. Please never stop!
I am so excited for the new album!! The songs are enchanting!!
This is beautiful. It' manages to be majestic and glorious without being aggressive.
Oh my dear God, this so beautiful,
My soul always gonna be thankful for this
와...진짜 띵곡이다 이런 브금너무 좋아👍 음악자체도 너무 좋으면서 생각에 잠기기도 좋은...
even after 5 years, this song still hits me and many of us right in the heart. it's a beautiful, melodic composure of different music elements all combined into one. this got me through so much, and I really appreciate this wonderful masterpiece. love from south-east Asia!
Ca we use this on RUclips video without copyright
Fav song of the album, even after listening it to it multiple times everyday for the past two months, i still constantly come back and I’m amazed by it, most artists can’t really do that with me cept you 👌
ShadowGamer thanks 🙏🏽
This artwork and music remind me of the dawn when I was going home after a night shift. My house is on another side of a mountain in Tama, Tokyo, I have to cross the mountain to get home. The sky and street in this picture look so familiar to the mountain peak. Although it is the ocean in the background, the feeling is so nostalgic. The color of the sky and the soul-touching music brought me back to that time when I walked through the quiet mountain streets. Thank you for your great work!
Man, I really thank Spotify for recommending your music, in the beginning of the year Spotify recommended "Oceans" in my Discover Weekly playlist and since then I am hooked on your music. It helps me so much, like other music of the genre, to get easy through my day to day business and keep me highly motivated to go on!
39 seconds seems to be a lot different, but it a good way, I really like the multicultural aspects, that every song seems to be influenced by another culture!
Your style is just amazing, cannot wait to hear more! Love your music!!!
Has been one of my favourite songs to listen to while working for 4 years! Back then, I didn't pay much attention to whom I listen to, but I surely do now. You're one of my favourite artists, and Tokyo Rain and Octavia are my two favourite works by you so far. I will dive deeper into your catalogue bit by bit to discover all the hidden gems
Simply amazing! My ears are crying!
I absolutely love this song. I don't remember how I found it, but your music has recently been on repeat when I am reading and other stuff because I love your true, raw talent. Thanks for making some awesome music!
I wish I could give this song more than 1 million likes 'cause this is epic!! And so is the other song First Flight! I mean oh my goodness! It's soooooo awesome!!!! I can't even describe what I'm feeling while listening to this. Keep up this amazing work! I'm definitely sending some of my friends here to listen to this. Have an awesome day everyone and remember not to ever give up on hope.
This piece gives me chills every time I listen to it 😁
sdgsgdsdf this must be like one of the best songs (in my opinion) that you have ever made??? they just keep getting better oh my god
You’ve outdone yourself with this one! This piece is a perfect blend of your more orchestral Homeward and your more recent Wintersong. The future of music is here!
