What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. This unique perspective allows for an extremely immersive experience unlike any other game in the genre. While this doesn’t sound like such a big change, once you play it you’ll understand! All of these things added together is what has gaming websites everywhere continually rating SMITE as one of the best MOBA games available!

Its not that different from Apollo, just trades the pitiful amount of damage on Appolos ult for a slow.
it's a LOT different than Apollo. Apollo's ult drains mana like crazy and usually you can see him coming from a miles away.

as much as I like Chernobog. i think they need to rework his kit a bit to make it feel more fun. and also re-design him so he isnt too demonic or a generic demon. add more slavic influences into him, if he has to look like a demon fine but he still needs to look like a slavic god.

I love pineapples While I also hope they add Tangra, there are things you should know... His true name is Tengri and he isn't just a Bulgarian god, he's a god of the Huns, Turkics, Altaics, Siberians and Mongols. Therefore if/whenever Tengri gets added, he should be placed in the Mongolian pantheon along with Erlik, Umay, Bai-Ulgen and Kizagan. With every new god, their abilities do more & more stuff
Chinkobog goes on stealth, gaining extra movement speed, upon exiting the stealth he gains damage mitigation aswell as dealing aoe damage in cone shaped while refreshing his cooldowns & gains extra damage buff for every cooldown refreshed.

It's called power creeped. He can do every thing that the old gods can but better. Every moba has this problem when they release more characters.

that or a assassin. his one abiltiy where he can hide in the walls feels like a assassin type ability to me.
I don't think so. He uses his ult and dash like any other hunter. He has an AOE like most other hunters and his 2nd ability procs all basic attack items. Also his passive is to do with his basics so I think it's fine he is a hunter.
scalpingsnake thank you I've been saying this the entire time, he's no different than Cernunnos and we have too many mages we don't need more magical gods when hunters and assassins have the least amount of all the classes
LordyLucifer yeah exactly. You can say it for most gods that they could be another class but that doesn't necessarily mean they should or have to be.

Not a fan of having a character without a lore. Also, this God Reveal doesn't seem to have the quality SMITE usually has with these videos. No lore and rushing through his abilities without mentioning if it's his 1,2,3 or Ult. HIREZ, take your time. Choose quality over quantity please.

I think the new god is super cool.
The lore was one of the best interpreted videos by Lore Lady, the skill kit is interesting (because I enjoy when the skills interact with each other) and the escape is not a simple dash or jump, like most, and I love the black shadow daubed on the wall, encloses the sense of Chernobog.
I fell in love with this god at first sight, although perhaps it has a very anime look, and not so much slavic, but both the splashart and the model are very good.

FINALLY somebody gets it he actually looks really interesting and has a kit thats both interesting but gets results, everyone I've seen says hes garbage but if you actually do the math and compare his dmg with other hunters (purely from an ability standpoint) hes on par with other ability based hunters like neith or ullr add into it that he has auto attacks that do extra dmg every 3rd hit and hes perfectly fine. i dont think he needs any buffs or debuffs
I really hope they won't nerf him. Someone says he's broken, someone else says it's boring and underwhelming...

His abilities are actually not that bad and very simple I don't expect an immediate nerf out of him and hope I can play him once and get bored. I'm also really excited about the other new pantheon god's coming to smite, I was thinking it was ridiculous since they haven't even gave the celtic pantheon enough gods but oh well the more gods the better.
I have not forgotten the final number in Disney's Fantasia. How is it that HiRez has? They had better play Night on Bald Mountain for the Smite main menu after he's released!

One of if not the most boring god to play in this game they could have done so many more creative things with this god especially considering the ones we’ve gotten since him. I hope they do a rework of everything other than his ult cause I do like his ult but they just need to make his kit more fun and enjoyable to play.
