I’ve seen a lot of people comment how 360bhp isn’t much. It’s more than enough on UK roads when you can put it all down, and it looks like this car does. It’s not peak numbers you should look at but the area under the curve, and how the car delivers the power.
Been driving 6 years, and my step dad let me drive his 245bph mk7 golf gti just so i could experience power, and that was absolutely plenty and certainly enough to loose my license if i wasn’t careful
I'm actually kinda glad that the 8P generation cars are all being overlooked, it keeps them still fresh looking as opposed to seeing one on the road every 5 minutes like the mk7/7.5 golf R so you don't get bored of seeing one.
When you think about the performance of these cars, and the year they came out.. the Golf Rs and S3s of the current time arent that far ahead.. Stage 2 one of these and youll be pushing good power for daily driving. Love S3 8Ps especially with a DSG! Well done to the owner for keeping it so well maintained and good video mate!

I have a s3 8p with the stage 2 map from r tech with the dsg box and it is mega on the launch I think mines at about 360 hp and its more than enough, quality car when u put it in s mode it launches what a car my pride and joy never letting go of it

Intercooler doesn't give you more power just stops you from loosing power due to heat soak.. wicked car tho love it definitely on my next car list 👌

Hi Luke, I think you should have a look at the race between the MK8 Golf R and a A45S that’s been uploaded to RUclips recently. I also think you should arrange a test drive in a MK8 R and do a video on it as it will be beneficial for 7.5r owners knowing the differences. Keep up the great content !
Really hate we didn't get the 3 door A3 in the U.S.
Keep coming back to these my RS3 8p is just a track beater not a natural track car but has lowered suspension no coilover, Revo stage 3 499hp 460 lbft removed rear seats updated rear anti roll bar all supporting mods box remap etc few dents and scratches doesn't bother me I've been not far off the pace of a couple of 911 GT3 RS cars at donnington / croft ,owned it six years. My nice car is a 2014 R8 V10 plus Matte blue

Seems a decent guy and down to earth and sensible. I know there's a 0-60 culture and big bhp and compare this car to that but I never hear people talk about how fun the car is. And most of the time these cars aren't as fun as you think. Fast to 60 but linear and dull to drive. I bet he finds the Clio more fun.
Both cars are fun in their own right 👍🏻 I can assure you the S3 is loads of fun though

I am on my 3rd 8p s3 the thing that makes these cars fun is showing other people that don’t believe they can be fun then looking at there face afterwards lol
After my last hot hatch to the s3 8p I find it very dull but I also have DSG and i'm more of a manual guy. To be fair the s3 wasn't really designed to be a fully fledged hot hatch but I think with roll bars, coilovers, stage 2+, and perhaps anti lift kit and engine mounts a lot of it's softness and dullness can be sorted out. Fun in a straight line though !
PS my biggest gripe with the car is the steering is extremely light at all times and takes a lot of lock to turn in properly. I think with sharp steering this car could be miles more fun (think you'de have to buy a mk6 golf r for that).

my 2010 S3 8P has spot welded exhaust tips , unless you have a grinder to cut them off , you cannot just change the tips , or buy a milltek back box which cost about £ 600
We need to get another modified abarth 500/595 on the channel!

I got the same car on 79k miles it’s going r tech after she’s had had full major service for the stage 2 tune mate would love to do a video with mine and yours mine white to black edition dsg looks the same just u got the rs3 from end and roof splitter with full wing rs4 wings backs interior would be a great colab these cars are rare now and are the best models made love it bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I need some help!! I don't know whether to get a s3 8p dsg or pay a bit more and go for a golf r dsg! I know the golf response better to tuning than s3 8p's, but on the other hand they are a lot more money, just dont know if its worth the extra. Both great fun to drive though

Lots do it.. it's not legal but again not endorsable therefore no points. At most it's a small fine and it seems not many are fined for it.

I've got an s3 8p black edition dsg, much better cars than the newer stuff better built and more reliable, mines only had a map so is circa 300-310bhp but it'll do 170 on a private run way obviously so easily more than fast enough for a daily the money they are now you can't beat them
