Daily start up of equipment for the day... The first thing is check all fluid levels... Combine engines do chew up oil as they work harder and steady RPMs. Mostly.. so yeah if low add when ever its hits the low marker bring to the top, which is the running level needed. do not be surprised if it consumes oil faster than normal. Change oil every recommend XXX number of hours of operations and every fall when storage for winter. Oil not changed after working for the fall harvest is very acidic and will cause damage over winter. Take care KATE.
Kate always enjoy your videos great narratives - No oil! Your dad is a calm man. Someone would catch a verbal thrashing with all kinds of "work-n-words" for that on our crew.
Thank you for sharing this content with us, I appreciate the time you put into this. How is school going? Hope you are feeling better. God bless you and your family Stay safe Mr Kevin
Always a enormous treat to see and hear you Kate, you're my favorite person ever. Did you ever show Grandpa that challege coin of his ship? I was just curious what he thought is all. Trevor is really cool, fits right in with you all. Another great video, thank you and God Bless.
thanks a bunch,,,,i like learning from a beautiful teacher!! Lotsa great views and plenty of new information that ive been wondering about,,,,be safe,,,,bill in alabama
Kate, read the maintenance section esp the daily part in the Deere's 9870 operator's manual that came with that combine. Well you learned about engine oil level that day. Sensors may not always give you a warning. You will learn a lot from the info in the manual & possibly save your father money in the long run. All equipment you operate should have manuals. Hope you all get a good price for your crops. Kate your content is so interesting & great!
Kate still loves seeing her bunnies! Daaw! Seen any of your favorite pheasants lately? :-) I feed the birds and bunnies in my back yard every day and I'm often reminded of Kate when I see them because she adores her bunnies and pheasants! Yes, checking the oil is a daily requirement/must on such big diesel engines (yours has over 500 HP) and it can be very harmful and very expensive when running too low. One other youtube farmer lost a very expensive diesel engine on his sprayer rig a couple of years ago and the engine on it is tiny in comparison to the one in your combine! It cost him over $75,000! Yikes!!!! It's so nice for you and your family and crew to help out the neighbor in harvesting his crops! :-)
IF your gunna be a combine driver, the minimum you should do before you start it in the mornings, is check the oil....Tighten up a little Kate..lol P. S. nice shirt...
That was lucky. That might show a few problems later such as elevated oil consumption and possibly shortened turbo life. I check all the fluids in my combine every day before I start.
Kate. Check out the Robert Frost poem "Mending Wall" for good fences make good neighbors. He wrote it in 1914 so the meaning is somewhat time sensitive.
Hello Kate from Sydney Australia. So was the combines low oil level; A. Burning it in engine combustion B. Oil leakage C. Low from last oil change Stay cool John Boy🌏🇦🇺
The last time I saw a video about a combine with a lack of oil was on the YT channel Laura Farms. Her neighbor's combine was very low on oil, but there was no warning, or not acknowledged. A gearbox or hydraulic motor, I don't know, became very hot. It sits directly below the plastic fuel tank. The whole combine burned down, total loss.
Shame on someone! That oil should be checked first thing every morning b4 you start the engine. Not sure how many hours since it was checked, but that's a lot of oil even for a full oil change interval. I would check the inner air filter to make sure it is clean. Probably just go ahead and replace it. If that thing is plugged the turbo will suck oil out of the engine. I'd check the turbo right away too. Then keep a close eye on that oil. A replacement engine for that combine will run your dad around $47,000.
🇺🇸HI KATE!🙋 GREAT VIDEO! IT IS SO COOL TO SEE HOW EVERYONE HELPS EACH OTHER WITH THE HARVEST. IT'S GOOD THAT YOU CAUGHT THE OIL BEING LOW, THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A CATASTROPHE. OK,,,,,,BYE!👋🇺🇸
I can't not not comment. Sorry. So Kate. A couple of things. The most important. You need to get your Dad a sweatshirt with your logo. This is a priority. Dark color white lettering. There are places around here that do shirts and things (also You Tube swag.). Soccer teams, Kids sports, etc. Get a half dozen extra large for your Dad and one for Trevor too. It's marketing Kate. And then, Respect for your Dad. No questions Kate. When your Dad is working on the rig (like changing the oil) don't bug him with questions. Your job would be to follow directions. And then finally. What is it with you and Trevor??? Hmmm? Seems like a nice guy. Get him in the loop. What's he doing in the back of the truck for the road trip? Ok ~ That's it. 😜. New Hampshire.
It’s a worry you need to be putting that much oil in between oil changes. Jds like oil but normally a couple of litres over 200 hours. Best of luck with it Kate I hope it doesn’t give you grief.
Gday Kate, why do you window your wheat? Does it shake out ?we don’t really do it in Australia, we do mostly barley, canola and some legumes it seems ❤️
Something about some saw fly in Montana that eats the stem and the head drops .... they did straight cutting a year or two back in one of the vids and the flies got most of it.
You run out of diesel and that can cause a lot of down time but usually no damage. Its not the same as running out of gas. Running out of oil never ends good.

You're spot on! I always change the oil in my engines before I put them in winter storage for the reason you've stated.
After finding the oil level so low, it would be a good idea to start checking it much more often. Also, inspect the engine for oil leaks.
Good to see ya again Kate hope everything is okay. Thanks for the smiles
thanks kate, check your oil with the dipstick every day before you start. keep the big sky shots coming.
Was in Montana 2 weeks ago I always stop at Wheat Montana bakery in Three forks for pastries. Great Vid Kate
We love Wheat Montana! Thank you!!
It’s amazing how connected people in the countryside are to nature. 🍀
Kate always enjoy your videos great narratives - No oil! Your dad is a calm man. Someone would catch a verbal thrashing with all kinds of "work-n-words" for that on our crew.
Thnx for the new video. I always enjoy watching them. ☘️🇺🇸
Love your program, Kate, never get tired of watching
Thank you so much!
Hey dad chill you’re so lucky to have Kate.
Great job 😊🎉teaching about wheat and farming.
Lucky you caught the low oil in time. Running dry damages the engine and can seize it. 🚜👍🏼🙂
So true!!
Another awesome vid! Last load, last field, last bale!! The best feeling! Keep the deere's running!
Thank you for watching!!!

Thanks for a wonderful video
Thank you for watching!!
Great video Kate! Great to watch the Kate's AG flag again!
Your dad wasn't feeling all those questions at the very end LOL...Great vid, never imagined they took that much oil.
@@mmm365 naw, she's great. It was funny.
@@mmm365 That's how you learn, it's better to ask questions and get answers than to have no knowledge becasue you can't ask questions.
Take care of your combine and it will take care of you. .💪.
Great video. . 👏🇺🇸
Fantastic advice!!!
Nothing like ✔️. Ing the oil Kate 😂🤣👍🇺🇸

Yaaaay!!! Another amazing video from the beautiful Kate!!
Great video to show why most people do a DAILY check of the engine oil for their equipment at the very least.
thanks a bunch,,,,i like learning from a beautiful teacher!! Lotsa great views and plenty of new information that ive been wondering about,,,,be safe,,,,bill in alabama

Kate, your Dad reminds me so much of the late Rich Farnsworth whom played Matthew Cuthbert in 1st Anne of Green Gables movie. FYI!
Wearing a white Kates Ag shirt right now! What a coincidence!!
Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot!
@@KatesAg *ABSOLUTELY*!
Good Morning Kate, nice video!!!!!😉👌👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪💪
Thank you!!!
Hey Kate- you might have done a vid on this already, but would love to hear from your Dad why you swath vs straight combining?
Hi Kate............Greetings from Illinois
Hello from Montana!!
Félicitations Kate 🙋♂️...bonjour de la France 🇨🇵 🙋♂️
Hey that’s why the combine has sensors. But yes yes check the oil.
👌Excellent👌 video
Always good to see another video by the beautiful Kate. God Bless.
11:43 - Seems like you need a longer funnel that can be more upright.
That's a good idea, thank you!

Hey miss Kate's 🥰
Bom trabalho, boa colheita
Kate is front and center to the unknown!
That was lucky. That might show a few problems later such as elevated oil consumption and possibly shortened turbo life. I check all the fluids in my combine every day before I start.
Kate's Ag the combine harvester ate the oil and you added it, and to replace it you would have to drain the oil to replace it :) good work

I see you have a new apple watch, ❤
He who runs without oil will throw the first rod 😮😮 Then it's new engine time
Hi from Dexter🏠Missouri

lol I thought there would be rocks in yours Kate
haha, thank you for your comment
The not locked stairs are fun until you're in a hurry and don't think about it xD
And thanks for your video
That's quite an ordeal to check the oil on that combine. Guess that's why it got overlooked?
Thanks for sharing. There must be an oil leak. Did you check underneath the combine?
Привет из солнечного Узбекистана,как ты Кейт?Жду от тебя новых видео.Мне нравится твои публикации.
Do you have soybeans to harvest? You might want to check the oil every morning before you start the engine for the first time.
“Interrupting Kate’s Ag”

hahahaha
🥰🥰🥰 I like video
Thank you!!!
Dios te bendiga ❤️ 🙏
Note to self: When on a Combine- check oil, first thing in the morning.
Yes, that's a must!
I always said cemeteries make the best neighbors. Yeah running any motor without oil with shut them down quick.
I'm a pilot, flew out of Midway in Chicago, still fly, would like the chance to train you piloting.
It good help your people next door

You can run out of gas but not oil.

what was for lunch....?
🖖
Enjoy all your videos BUT, I miss your flying with you dad videos...
I need some good cotton tee shirts, I like with pocket. I'm so tired of these cheap foreign made with so called wicking 😂 American made is what I love
And you should be checking your oil every day before you start Kate. You need to become an operator not just a driver!!!
Hopefully her oil is ok 😂😂😂😂
So are you guys going steady? Or are you engaged?
He seems pretty nervous around you!!
ချင်းပြည်သွာမယ်
Your dad wasn’t happy at all. He knows how much it could cost him if that engine seizes
💞💞💞💞💞💞🌷🌷🌷
Speeking of oil did you ever hear of farmer truing out us oil for keep the crows away from crops
