The only critique I would have for all of these ppl would be diction. I know pretty much every lyric of this musical, but like at some points it was hard to tell what they were saying.

Damian was perfect oh my god
Some of the vocals were a little shaky/weak sounding but I guess we’re judging them against some of the most talented singers on broadway so I’ll give credit where credit is due. Plus the Regina part is really hard to sing! They were all great for what this is. The guy singing for Damien was incredible, and the girl singing for Karen was great too. What a strong and balanced belt she has!
The actor playing Damian kinda reminded me of Andrew Rannells.

If you have any talent and you sound good even when you sing bad get vocal coach and get control of it cuz btw Hugh Hackman didn’t sing until he got a vocal coach at age 18 and now look at him. Just saying

Wow such a tiny venue & such major talent. They all look ready for Broadway. Mara looks more like I imagine the daughter of the Toaster Strudel inventor than any other actress I have seen. This whole cast is better than the one in the movie.

I like the plastics voices individually but they don’t mix very well when they sing the end of the song, it’s probably a mixture of things but the main reason is vocal technique, they just sing too different from each other :/ I guessed that was what would happen pretty quickly too tbh..
I agree with you. I felt like Regina was a bit flat at times, and they try very hard to sound like their characters which hindered the vocal techniques. Though I do think they will improve quite a lot.
turningoutthelights just had another listen and I reckon Regina is trying too hard to fully belt the higher notes rather than going for a mix belt, which always makes your notes sound flat, and Karen and Gretchen sing with a very nasally tone which isn’t favoured in musical theatre due to the sound quality and the fact that it’s much easier for you to overshoot and make the note too sharp. Even I (a not the best singer) have been able to tackle these issues during vocal lessons so I’m guessing this performance might’ve been last minute so the singers didn’t have the time to properly prepare and go over every single word they sing.

Karen started a little early
Sounds amazing! But in my opinion the Regina is trying too hard to be a sultry femme fatale villain. The thing that makes Regina villainous is how two faced she is. “No, really say it” is the same friendly backhanded jab as “so you agree: you think you’re really pretty.” It’s scarier when it’s said with an inviting smile instead of a pouty lipped glare. She hit the nail on the head with “we don’t really do this...” so I wanted to see more of that two-faced smile and less Jessica Rabbit.

Janis said the rest of “us” but it’s supposed to be THEM. I get that it’s a small mistake but it makes a big difference because she’s basically calling herself one of “them.”
wow i was thinking about taking my granddaughters to see this. Glad I saw this raunchy video. Highly inappropiate for teens. The movie was not this raunchy or cheap
