I just adore the Chantels, I was born in 1949, n at the age of 11, I heard the Chantels singing my favorite song (Maybe), then I was mesmerized by the song n singers even to this day n year 2024 n now at 75 yrs of age u all r just so fabulous. Thank u for staying together n still singing. God bless u all n take care of yourself's. ❤️🙏🌞🥰
Absolutely! Without a doubt! It's crazy enough that Johnny Maestro and his two groups were also left out, but not inducting The Chantels is just a sin!!
Man..open the gates of my heart ..those days aint gone...no way...they live on in our hearts and souls. Yolanda..COME HOME...my darling, please...come home...i need you so....
The Plea is just wonderful by both the Chantels and the Jesters. 34:02. The lead, when she switches to her natural voice, is out of this world fantastic.
I must say that the beautiful Amy Ortiz has a very lovely voice! Also, Renee White has a nice style when she did her part in "The Plea". Bottom line is this: The Chantels are FABULOUS⚠️
My Mom and Pops got together young I see pictures of the partying they used to have every one dancing and drinking together they had live bands no DJs just 45s albums an live bands they mom was 18 and pop was 20 in 1968 They ended up divorced in the early 80s I remember growing up with music such as Chantel’s Supremes Rosie and the Original Shirilles Sam the sham. An the Pharos The kingsmen I layed pop to rest before Halloween my mom is remarried an doing good 👍 precious memories I’m in my 50s now my kids hear this great music
Seeing them in person is something I would treasure. I hope they are still preforming, if so I will go wherever to see them. They are fantastic and so personable. What a lucky group of people in that audience.
@@s.rosesmith6525 thats not true. Arlene was never on drugs! she left the group way back in 1960 to go on her own. She performed for many years with her own group of Chantels and in recent years did several special guest appearances with the original group. She retired from performing about 7 years ago due to health issues
I'm glad someone stated the Chantels names in order. I was wondering which one was Jackie since I had never seen her. God Bless Her soul and may she rest in peace!
@@victorcontreras9138 How could they be the original Chantels when your missing Arlene Smith and following Arlene as lead vocal was Annette Smith(No relation to Arlene)
@@victorcontreras9138 Jackie was extremely beautiful in my eyes and could harmonize with the best of them. I could be wrong but I think she sang the baritone. No matter what part she sang, what a loss losing her was! RIP, Sweet Jackie.
@@lajas46 At the time this show was recorded, 40 years had already passed, and they were in their 50's. They still had 4 of the 5 original members, and their sound was still incredibly gorgeous! @@lindadee2053 Yes, I truly agree! Jackie was one I wasn't familiar with as I wasn't tuned in with the group when she was around. Now, I realize how outstanding the Chantels were by being so young and talented. Thanks for your opinion👌

doo wop was the thread that sewed together so many hearts. Young people need to hear these songs.
CHANTELS should be in the Rock 'N Roll Hall Frame!

They are amazing! LOVE their voices! :)
Crazy when your lead singer was the power voice at the tender age of 12 years of age in 1957
The Plea is just wonderful by both the Chantels and the Jesters. 34:02. The lead, when she switches to her natural voice, is out of this world fantastic.

The Chantels Are Superb…. AnCan Never Be Duplicated.
The song at 25:45 is actually entitled "Look in My Eyes", not "Set Me Free" as it is listed under Chapters.
It was so great to see and hear the girls perform other songs from their extensive collection. Miss Jackie a lot!

I had no idea Renee Minus White had such a great, expressive alto voice. This is the first time I've EVER heard her sing a lead.
Renee is just a fabulous lead! I love her voice to death.
So beautiful ❤
Love the Chantals one of my favorite groups I was a teenager back when these songs were out used to cry whenever I heard maybe
BEST female group of ALL time. I actually thought it was Arlene Smith in the lead. I'm I missing something? Fantastic!!!
I Think Arlene Had Passed On; But They Still Sounded Great!!
Arlene's boyfriend got her hooked on drugs..She left the group. She got better and has done guest appearances. I love her and them.

I loved 🥰 I What outstanding group!🙏❤️
The great Chantels with their great lead singer Arlene Smith play them on my internet radio show the Doowoop Hour me The Masterblaster.
IT'S TO DIE FOR.............
One of the best female groups ever. I never get tired of hearing them.
They. Sound. Great. This. Is. Music. Not. That. Bs. Today
There music is bomb!!
There version of Summertime is one of my favorites 20:01
That 3rd song is kinda ska like ...very cool..❤
No joke Jack!
Which lady is Arlene Smith, and which one is Jackie Landry❤
they dominated 1958!!
My favorite is he's gone
Their first record too once they burst onto the scene, and just another of their many, many killer songs.
Such a heart wrenching song!
L to R( first song): Sonia, Lois, Jackie, Reneè and lead, Amy Ortiz.

Wonder why they changed the words to Come My Little Baby and the arrangement didn't get close to the Gone original
Eternally who sang lead on original song?
Wasn't it Arlene Smith? I believe she sang all of their leads, everyone of them, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
