@@Ska1high Yeah the first time it plays is when you're solving the safe combination puzzle, which Emile just skipped right over. He also didn't acknowledge the unique Starlow sprite of her smiling at the bros right before the puzzle, which doesn't show up anywhere else in the entire game. As much as I still like Emile for being a high point in my life whenever he uploads after a stressful day of work, I'm gonna be honest and say that this might be my least favorite LP he's done, not counting his early LPs of course
It's also a nice way to quietly tribute the last big role of Toadsworth and last appearance of Toadbert in a game. I quite liked both of them since I was a kid and it's been great to see them be significant again in this LP :)
You know, with how the spike ball move is treated as something Bowser hasn’t been able to do before, despite clearly being able to do it in Shy Guy Squad, it wouldn’t surprise me if, at some point in development, we were originally intended to get Shy Guy Squad in Peach’s Castle.
People have pointed out before that bowser doesn’t actually move independently while in ball form during the shy guy squad move, presuming for lore reasons that he could always roll his shell into a ball, but somehow couldn’t move around during it? Either way, I could totally see the developers moving a couple of his special attacks around and forgetting that one of them is based on one of his overworld abilities and just leaving it as is.
Personally I always had the headcanon that him being able to do the Spike Ball was something he could always do, but actually moving around with it required loosening up his back, which is why the Shy Guys had to push him.
Emile's speech in the Lumbar Nook touched me in a way I wasn't expecting, It's always so nice to hear him expressing himself so calmly and in such a sincere tone, it's unusually calming and tugs on the ol' heartstrings.
Bowser's Spinal Cord is attached to his shell. So of course he would be in pain if his shell has received so much abuse. Guess that explains why a turtle's shell cannot be removed, which is different from Koopas when they have their shells removed.

Most of the RUclipsrs I used to watch either make stupid over stimulated content that only appeal to infants, stopped uploading, or...did something really bad that made me loose all respect for them entirely. When the controversy came out every time I looked at twitter it just seemed to get worse it was actually taking a toll on me mentally. I had little choice but to separate myself from it entirely, to the point I’m still not aware of the full details. (No I don’t want them). It’s the first time I have ever felt betrayed by someone I care about. When chugga finally gave us an update I dropped my phone in fear because I wasn’t sure what to expect but it got better (however when I saw that the details were deeply personal to him,I stopped reading because I honestly didn’t feel it was my business to know any of it). I choose to just be happy that this ray of sunshine has managed to return to us the world was a dark place without him.

It seems like no community these days is immune to controversy... even HermitCraft, _the_ poster child of family-friendly Minecraft RUclips, recently had something _sus_ come out that resulted in the resignation of a member. I've finally caught up with all these episodes omg 😅 Chuggaaconroy has gotten hit 262 times throughout this playthrough. He's gotten hit 194 times on screen in battles, at least 35 times offscreen in battles, and 33 times in minigames. Also just gotta say, it's good to have Chuggaaconroy back. I'm glad he's doing well

I also have autism as well and just wanted to say that we should honestly thank you for you deciding Bowser’s Inside Story as your 50th Let’s Play. I am fully aware that there are some people who don’t like the idea of trivializing a main game and sure this specific area might drag on for a while but I honestly don’t mind it and if I am geuniely honest, it feels refreshing of getting back to Bowser specifically after a long period and I am also very satisfied that Emile didn’t skipped 3:57 because this is also my personal favorite scene throughout the game and let’s play in general and was honestly more excited about that specifically than the rematch against Junker which is kinda nice to see Emile struggle a little instead of trivializing the main story and the gimmicks of this made me chuckle a lot and I really, really love the music specifically at 3:57. If the Junker X superboss was actually tough, I can’t imagine there’s probably a secret final boss and I have a good guess who one of them is because of the amount of HP!!! 🙈🤡🤣 (Roulette failure at 15, lol!!! 🙈🤣) #Chuggaaconroy

As an autistic I was told I could not do anything a normal person could. One person even said it was an irresponsible mistake that I was born because somebody else in my family already had it All by so called 'professionals' I've done challenges in the most influential game of all time that nobody else has done just because I loved it that much. And 2 weeks after I escaped my abusive home this summer I was already cooking things and travelling and doing everything people said I couldn't do It's sad that most people don't try to understand what autism actually is. Some expect us to learn to be boring clones of the rest of society. Funny thing about the Challenge Medal in the remake is that it doesn't even work the same way as it does the original version. In the remake, it doubles the damage both you and the enemy take, meaning it is effectively a better Daredevil Boots that works for every character at once lol
Emile, I just want to say that I will always prefer this kind of long-form edited content over a chaotic livestream. Especially the way you do it, with your exuberance and excitement over the game while at the same time laying down lore, backstory, strategies, and everything one needs to truly appreciate the game and what went into it. In livestreams it feels like the game takes a backseat to donations and shoutouts and drama in the chat and I really can't enjoy them the way I do a good old-fashioned Let's Play. It's why I keep coming back to you, to Tim, and to Deceased Crab. Never change, my dude. Never change.
I second this. I actually only found myself watching you either this year or the last, and just kinda liked the vibe of your channel, it felt cozy without being too dull to hold my interest. They kinda served as a way to calm me down as a lot of stressful events in my life this year have been so bad that I literally couldn’t sleep for awhile. If you ever stop making lps, I’ll be sad, but thankful to you for just providing me with something that I could enjoy both in my good and bad moments. Course, hopefully that time won’t be soon, there is a certain joy that only comes watching your videos as they come out after all

That specific scene of waiting for Bowser’s back to heal came to mind anytime I thought of Emile doing a BIS let’s play. It was well worth the wait. The regular Koopas have more cartoony shells that can removed, while Bowser and the Koopalings appear to have their shells "fused" with the rest of their body when you look at the front. My headcanon is that Bowser's species CAN'T remove the shells as it's a part of their body, just like a real-life turtle. The Lumbar Nook kinda has the same wall pattern as his shell, so it might not only be his back muscles but inside the shell/skeleton, or where they meet.
Though we don't see him change, Bowser can apparently remove his shell when switching gear. There's also the PC version of Mario is Missing where we see him without his shell, though that game is not canon. Super Paper Mario and Super Mario Odyssey have him wearing the shell over his tuxedo, so unless the suit isn't tailored to end at the shell, he had to have rmoved it beforehand.
This whole part fixing bowsers back was always my favorite part of the game, it kind of signifies a point where throughout all the chaos and running around, this moment is just to relax and maybe reflect on how far you've come in the game. Glad you didn't skip it.

Your speech was really moving. Media has definitely changed since the days of MVs, plush videos, and like what you’re doing even to this day, let’s plays. It’s both wonderful and a little saddening seeing media evolve to where streaming as a whole gained a new genere in the form of Vtubers, yet it feels like almost no one really goes back to the days of old and see how we got to this point. I’m glad to see that you still continue to find enjoyment in making let’s play videos. Even after 16 years, they still remain to be my favorite form of content on this site.

It didn’t truly take off until 2020 when the pandemic hit and everyone was stuck inside, with Vtubers being the ray of sunshine that people needed. Heck, that was when it really took off in the West with Hololive debuting an English branch. I’m more than aware of the discourse with Vtubers right now, people hating them, especially Ironmouse, for beginning to dominate Twitch. Niji is an absolute shit hole, and Holo is going through a rough patch with 6 talents leaving this year and people beginning to question it. I’m sure eventually it’ll all die off, but for now, you just have to deal with the hate they get.

Fun fact about falling star at 23:33, normally the EXCELLENT shows up after the final star hits, but if an earlier hit kills the boss before that final star, that's when the Excellent will instead show up which it does for you on the first hit!

I have lot to say today, but please, bare with me. Bowser’s timeout in the safe really changed him. He is actually asking for help and saying “please” now, whereas before he was locked up he had to be asked and responded sarcastically. Something as small as that really makes me feel for Bowser, especially now that I realize how long he had to be alone for in the junkyard. It eventually got to the point of him being knocked out by the time he was free. Fun fact: if you ever check the map while he’s locked away, he’s nowhere to be seen on the top screen, but the bottom screen shows him in a dark alley with a question mark. It’s a cool little hint the devs dropped as to where he ended up, as this map kinda looks like the junkyard alley in the castle From my experience, Bowser will be just about Gold Rank from his last fight with the Fawful Express, and you’ll get level ups like crazy during your time here, one level every 3-4 fights 16:10 Now that I see Junker X being a struggle for you, me and the many other kids that struggled with base Junker feel acknowledged. A common thing I learned from yesterday is that we either kept getting mixed like crazy by the attacks or we never found Falling Star/Magic Window, or both. The trash man messes younger players up like crazy Lastly, that Lumbar Nook moment is still so pleasant (uses the same music from before Bowser was locked up, ironically). It’s been a pleasure having you back on the internet Emile. Seeing you comfortable making content again with this passion is a great feeling, and this LP has been a smash hit so far
I feel like your struggle is not totally representative of everyone’s experience, another side is what I did, I actually had Magic Window and Falling Star when I fought Junker and I still had trouble, main reason is that I wasn’t doing all the challenge stuff, I didn’t really use the challenge medal and I wasn’t collecting every bean, and bc I didn’t do all the challenge node stuff, I wasn’t overflowing with coins to the point where I could buy anything and I wasn’t running around like crazy with the challenge medal equipped so I wasn’t wildly strong for this point in the game like Chugga and I wasn’t funneling almost every level up into POW, no kid would have Mario with 200 power by this point in the game, I remember getting to about 190 with Mario and I beat the final boss with not too much difficulty, I feel like kids either didn’t have falling star and Magic window for junker, they weren’t as wildly powerful or both

When I first played through the game, I had my DS in my bedroom late at night when I wasn’t supposed to have it. I remember being terrified that when Toadsworth’s alarm went off, my parents would hear it and come confiscate my DS.
on the plus side if you hid it under your pillow when they went to the bathroom and accidentally fell asleep it would wake you up so they wouldn't confiscate it in the morning.
Considering how cool it is in boss fights to Bowser turn into a spiked ball of doom to impale anything he runs over, I'm actually impressed that this game gave some actual _utility_ to the spikes by letting them stick into soft surfaces to climb walls.
Always found it silly that he apparently wasn’t flexible enough to curl into a spike ball until now but still did it all the time for that attack. It would make more sense if the shy guy squad attack was unlocked after this point but whatever I guess.
About the spikeball not being available earlier. there's an easy explanation, the shyguys are helping him get into ball form. the acupuncture coupled with what you do to get the bodyslam is what was needed for him to do it alone in this game.
Luigi crouching reminds me of Mythra's idle animation in Xenoblade 2. Not surprising that something that a Xenoblade character does, Chugga does also irl, even if it is a coincidence.

Luigi being taken away in the Junker Fight is definitely something I absolutely hated. Since Mario is pretty much a glass cannon dying as him is practically a guaranteed moment to occur.

Im gonna do a challenge with this game 1 you can not revive ur bro until the battle is over 2 you can only heal using rest stops (no using items) 3 your only allowed to use one special thats required to finish story mode [picnic basket] 4 your not allowed to use badges 5 you are allowed to grab beans but only in 2 areas once u collected them u can not collect anymore 6 ur only allowed to attack using jump and hammers 7 if you lose you must restart the game from the beginning and start over the challenge again And all of these apply to bowser as well! (No using items or specials unless the special is required to complete story mode!)
As someone with a lot of anxiety, the idea of being in a stream and having the possibility of being seen by not only everyone in the chat, but also potentially the streamer is TERRIFYING. I am not here to be observed, I am here to observe.
you can always watch vods in segments. the bigger problem with streams is how annoying and fake most streamers are. although tbf i'm sure i used to think the same about most lpers back in the day, the entertainment industry just sucks the souls out of people man.
I watch only one set of streamers and that is mostly because they were podcasters first so they were here for the long run. Therefore, their community is as sincere as this community. Namely, Grinding Gear.
Out of all the X battles, junker X kind of gave me the most trouble because of the boss trapping Luigi ( Especially when you're in low HP). Also I hope you wish Tim good luck on his wheel of fortune audition (and I do hope he does pass).
I remember as a kid, I thought Starlow was worried for Bowser and said "Oh, you're in such a pain!" Later years, I re-read it and thought that was a bit out of character for her.
Interesting thing to note, the mecha Fawfuls are the fastest Bowser enemies in the game with 90 speed, faster than the dark versions which have 30 speed, no other enemy is at 90 speed so dont worry about upgrading Bowser's speed because the final boss only has 30 something. (I noticed this when I was leveling up Bowser.)
This is one of the biggest games for my inspiration in what I want to do in my life. And I do appreciate the time you took to talk during the lumbar nook instead of skipping it. You are a gift to me and I'm sure many other people. Never change who you are deep inside Emile!

Another day to mention that the Gall Socks, able to be bought inside Bowser, complements well with the Daredevil Boots. Equip the socks to Luigi and boots to Mario, and it basically makes Mario more able to survive since enemies and even bosses are much more prone to targeting Luigi. Slapping more defensive gear on Luigi also helps him stay alive really nicely! I know Emile mentioned in a past episode that it takes a bit for him to respond cause he records alot of stuff in advance. Still, i hope he looks into this! In other news, Hi Emile! Love what you do! Been watching since Wind Waker!

Emile just talking to us during the tea time part is just precious. It’s thanks to Emile that I want to do Lp’s but could never get it to work. The capture card I got didn’t work when I tried. It was an Elgato but now it doesn’t work.
Streams take too much focus in my own opinion. Only time I listen to streams is when I wash dishes. I enjoy watching edited videos and let’s plays moreover than streams when I want to relax and enjoy a good story. Your videos never fail to bring a smile to my face!

Also, they blatantly need Bowser to be at least healthy and at most at his tip-top shape. Why Starlow is enjoying Bowser’s injuries, I do not know, especially since the layout makes it clear Bowser is the only path forward.
While Bowser DOES curl into a spike ball during moves like Shyguy Squad, he doesn't have any control over his body. The shyguys NEED to push him and the bros NEED to hit him with hammers to change his direction. This is the first time he has complete control in yhe spike ball
This moment in the lumbar nook is my absolutely my favourite part of the game, and if that isn't a showcase of how truly brilliant almost every moment of this game is that it might be one if the only games that makes doing Nothing for several minutes a stand out moment every playthrough, to the point that once i learned the skip i still never used it, that quiet moment with toadsworth and toadbert is just so nice, i wish the two of them showed up still.

Snack basket is actually useful in the dark star fight. Every other special attack that hits all enemies spreads the damage out between every enemy or strikes them at random, meaning you're always wasting some damage on the dark star while it's invincible if you use them, but snack basket will only hit the satellmites, maximizing the damage done to them and being able to kill both of tjem at the same time, saving time
When I was younger, I decided to binge play this game in one weekend. I had only been playing this game for the past 2 days, and when I got to this part 3:15, it hit a different way than other times i played it. I took toadsworth's advice and set the game aside, did some stretching, and just turned my mind off and relaxed for a few minutes. I think because of that, this moment became one of my favorites in the game even though you don't do anything. And Emile, thank you for all the work you put into these videos. Throughout all your lets plays there are comments of people saying how much your videos have helped them trough tough times and it shows that these can be more than just videos to some people, so thank you for everything. This series has been fantastic and here is to many more great series after this one.

Thanks for that speech. I've been watching on and off since New Leaf, but this series may be one od the best you've done. Every episode had me totally gripped and blew away all my doubts about the classic Let's Play format. As someone who does that style himself, it was tough realizing it was declining, had a lot of depression over it for a time. And I'll admit, it kinda bums me out when a non LP video of mine or anyone else's does better than LP parts simply by virtue of... not being one. But as long as we've got a loyal audience, we'll never stop doing what we love.
That speech even touched me. The fact that Emile still does LPs, despite streaming and VTubers existing, and me rejecting AI in favor of doing 3D work myself to not only learn and put my own touches into things, but also because it's what I wanted to do... I needed to hear this.
I just realized it's a plot hole that Bowser gets the Spike Ball move so late in the game despite the fact he curls up into a ball whenever he does his Shy Guy Squad special attack.
It’s possible the logic is that he may only be just able to roll himself up when in the Shy Guy attack, but after the acupuncture Bowser can roll into a ball and move freely? It is notable that Bowser is pushed by Shy Guys when doing the Shy Guy special attack.
Tbh, that's lil acupressure bit reminded me to stretch out my actually dodgy back while watching. Gotta remember to do that more often, but God, the little moments in this game explain why it's a fondly remembered part of the Mario and Luigi series. It has so many nice little touches throughout the game that add to its charm.
That message during the back scene really warmed my heart chuggaa. You’ve been such an inspiration to all of us including me. I wouldn’t have done any form of content creation if it weren’t for you. I too was my own editor for a very long time and now I edit some and my friend edits the others. We’ve had an absolute blast doing these videos together and it’s all thanks to you. I like let's plays more than streaming tbh. Cause if I'm interested in a game I don't wanna watch tidbits of it whenever I'm actually able to watch it. And yeah you can watch VODs, but then you're not part of the discussion. It's sad let's plays aren't as popular anymore, but I really enjoy them, so very thankful that you still keep it up.
I will confidently say that this specific episode in this Let’s Play is definitely my favorite as well because I really, really love quiet/calming scenes moreso than ones filled with nonstop action sequences and would be interesting to see more diversity in upcoming Let’s Plays and even that highlight reveal was really one of my favorites and felt super good to see the level up animation/screen for Bowser because I really love of how detailed it looks. Mario and Luigi having stars and a lakitu for their roulettes while Bowser getting spinning spikes and a Boo for his own iteration of the roulette, I am surprised no one else has mentioned this but a nice touch overall!!! 😈💕
I’m currently watching this the day that Sly 2: Band of Thieves, my absolute favorite game of all time, has finally been released digitally for full download on PSN, along with Sly 3! I couldn’t be happier!🤩 Edit: Chugga, it’s funny you bring up games telling you to take a break, because Sly 2’s credits actually tell you to go outside after they’re done rolling.😂
Honestly sly 2 was the weakest for me out of the trilogy, had way more fun with 1 & 3 then I did two, mostly because I think murrey and Bentley were really tricky to get around with in two, they fixed that in three which is probably why I like them better in three.
Emile, i can only speak for myself but i personally don't enjoy streams. I liken then to going to see a band live instead of buying the studio album. Their noisy, full of interruptions, the person you're there to see is overshadowed by the other people. And in terms of let's plays specifically, the editing really does bring it together. I will always prefer and enjoy let's plays over streams.

I think it finally convinced to also give making Let's Plays a go even though it's not likely they will ever be as popular as they were or my effort will be on level yours, but I really needed this push and thank you for that, Emile. Thematically I appreciate the "tea break" scene. But there's also something inherently uncomfortable about listening to the heartbeat while you sloooowly drill your way into bowser's bone and cartilage in the name of accupuncture.
Hey man, I just wanna say i'm really grateful for your videos, too. I stumbled on your thousand year door lets play when i was super young. I had a pretty rough time growing up, feeling really alone in my intrests and love of video games. Lifes still quite tricky, and especially as of recent it's been a bit of a bastard, but watching you play through and talk about one of my favorite games of all time has immensely helped. Waking up every day and being like "oh hey, there's a new chugga episode at 11!" and being able to watch it with my breakfast is a small ritual of sorts, but something i sorely needed during this time. It's odd; even though we'll probably never meet as people, I really appreciate you, man. I'm really glad you've kept up doing what you love all this time, through thick and thin. You're the best, Emile.

@@Ska1high Yeah the first time it plays is when you're solving the safe combination puzzle, which Emile just skipped right over. He also didn't acknowledge the unique Starlow sprite of her smiling at the bros right before the puzzle, which doesn't show up anywhere else in the entire game. As much as I still like Emile for being a high point in my life whenever he uploads after a stressful day of work, I'm gonna be honest and say that this might be my least favorite LP he's done, not counting his early LPs of course

It's also a nice way to quietly tribute the last big role of Toadsworth and last appearance of Toadbert in a game. I quite liked both of them since I was a kid and it's been great to see them be significant again in this LP :)
You know, with how the spike ball move is treated as something Bowser hasn’t been able to do before, despite clearly being able to do it in Shy Guy Squad, it wouldn’t surprise me if, at some point in development, we were originally intended to get Shy Guy Squad in Peach’s Castle.
And him doing it in the final fight in Galaxy one which I am pretty sure came out before this game
People have pointed out before that bowser doesn’t actually move independently while in ball form during the shy guy squad move, presuming for lore reasons that he could always roll his shell into a ball, but somehow couldn’t move around during it?
Either way, I could totally see the developers moving a couple of his special attacks around and forgetting that one of them is based on one of his overworld abilities and just leaving it as is.

Shy Guy Squad and Bowser's 5th Special Attack might've been the Special Attacks that were switched around in development.
Personally I always had the headcanon that him being able to do the Spike Ball was something he could always do, but actually moving around with it required loosening up his back, which is why the Shy Guys had to push him.
Emile's speech in the Lumbar Nook touched me in a way I wasn't expecting, It's always so nice to hear him expressing himself so calmly and in such a sincere tone, it's unusually calming and tugs on the ol' heartstrings.
Bowser's Spinal Cord is attached to his shell. So of course he would be in pain if his shell has received so much abuse. Guess that explains why a turtle's shell cannot be removed, which is different from Koopas when they have their shells removed.

A part of me was worried that id never hear your voice again. And your one of the few youtubers that ive watched from my childhood that I still watch now. Most of the RUclipsrs I used to watch either make stupid over stimulated content that only appeal to infants, stopped uploading, or...did something really bad that made me loose all respect for them entirely.

When the controversy came out every time I looked at twitter it just seemed to get worse it was actually taking a toll on me mentally. I had little choice but to separate myself from it entirely, to the point I’m still not aware of the full details. (No I don’t want them). It’s the first time I have ever felt betrayed by someone I care about. When chugga finally gave us an update I dropped my phone in fear because I wasn’t sure what to expect but it got better (however when I saw that the details were deeply personal to him,I stopped reading because I honestly didn’t feel it was my business to know any of it). I choose to just be happy that this ray of sunshine has managed to return to us the world was a dark place without him.

I am fully aware that there are some people who don’t like the idea of trivializing a main game and sure this specific area might drag on for a while but I honestly don’t mind it and if I am geuniely honest, it feels refreshing of getting back to Bowser specifically after a long period and I am also very satisfied that Emile didn’t skipped 3:57 because this is also my personal favorite scene throughout the game and let’s play in general and was honestly more excited about that specifically than the rematch against Junker which is kinda nice to see Emile struggle a little instead of trivializing the main story and the gimmicks of this made me chuckle a lot and I really, really love the music specifically at 3:57.

Funny thing about the Challenge Medal in the remake is that it doesn't even work the same way as it does the original version. In the remake, it doubles the damage both you and the enemy take, meaning it is effectively a better Daredevil Boots that works for every character at once lol

Emile, I just want to say that I will always prefer this kind of long-form edited content over a chaotic livestream. Especially the way you do it, with your exuberance and excitement over the game while at the same time laying down lore, backstory, strategies, and everything one needs to truly appreciate the game and what went into it. In livestreams it feels like the game takes a backseat to donations and shoutouts and drama in the chat and I really can't enjoy them the way I do a good old-fashioned Let's Play. It's why I keep coming back to you, to Tim, and to Deceased Crab. Never change, my dude. Never change.
I second this. I actually only found myself watching you either this year or the last, and just kinda liked the vibe of your channel, it felt cozy without being too dull to hold my interest. They kinda served as a way to calm me down as a lot of stressful events in my life this year have been so bad that I literally couldn’t sleep for awhile. If you ever stop making lps, I’ll be sad, but thankful to you for just providing me with something that I could enjoy both in my good and bad moments. Course, hopefully that time won’t be soon, there is a certain joy that only comes watching your videos as they come out after all

The regular Koopas have more cartoony shells that can removed, while Bowser and the Koopalings appear to have their shells "fused" with the rest of their body when you look at the front.
My headcanon is that Bowser's species CAN'T remove the shells as it's a part of their body, just like a real-life turtle.
The Lumbar Nook kinda has the same wall pattern as his shell, so it might not only be his back muscles but inside the shell/skeleton, or where they meet.
Plus the plastron (bottom) and carapace (top) are two separate pieces, not fused like a normal Koopa Shell
Though we don't see him change, Bowser can apparently remove his shell when switching gear. There's also the PC version of Mario is Missing where we see him without his shell, though that game is not canon. Super Paper Mario and Super Mario Odyssey have him wearing the shell over his tuxedo, so unless the suit isn't tailored to end at the shell, he had to have rmoved it beforehand.
This whole part fixing bowsers back was always my favorite part of the game, it kind of signifies a point where throughout all the chaos and running around, this moment is just to relax and maybe reflect on how far you've come in the game. Glad you didn't skip it.

It’s both wonderful and a little saddening seeing media evolve to where streaming as a whole gained a new genere in the form of Vtubers, yet it feels like almost no one really goes back to the days of old and see how we got to this point.

@@pocketsizedweeb It’s still a really young concept. It didn’t truly take off until 2020 when the pandemic hit and everyone was stuck inside, with Vtubers being the ray of sunshine that people needed. Heck, that was when it really took off in the West with Hololive debuting an English branch.
I’m more than aware of the discourse with Vtubers right now, people hating them, especially Ironmouse, for beginning to dominate Twitch. Niji is an absolute shit hole, and Holo is going through a rough patch with 6 talents leaving this year and people beginning to question it.
I’m sure eventually it’ll all die off, but for now, you just have to deal with the hate they get.

Fun fact about falling star at 23:33, normally the EXCELLENT shows up after the final star hits, but if an earlier hit kills the boss before that final star, that's when the Excellent will instead show up which it does for you on the first hit!

I have lot to say today, but please, bare with me.
Bowser’s timeout in the safe really changed him. He is actually asking for help and saying “please” now, whereas before he was locked up he had to be asked and responded sarcastically. Something as small as that really makes me feel for Bowser, especially now that I realize how long he had to be alone for in the junkyard. It eventually got to the point of him being knocked out by the time he was free.
Fun fact: if you ever check the map while he’s locked away, he’s nowhere to be seen on the top screen, but the bottom screen shows him in a dark alley with a question mark. It’s a cool little hint the devs dropped as to where he ended up, as this map kinda looks like the junkyard alley in the castle
From my experience, Bowser will be just about Gold Rank from his last fight with the Fawful Express, and you’ll get level ups like crazy during your time here, one level every 3-4 fights
16:10 Now that I see Junker X being a struggle for you, me and the many other kids that struggled with base Junker feel acknowledged. A common thing I learned from yesterday is that we either kept getting mixed like crazy by the attacks or we never found Falling Star/Magic Window, or both. The trash man messes younger players up like crazy
Lastly, that Lumbar Nook moment is still so pleasant (uses the same music from before Bowser was locked up, ironically). It’s been a pleasure having you back on the internet Emile. Considering Chuggaa went so far as to mention things which were not known to the public beforehand, I'm surprised he never mentioned that.
I feel like your struggle is not totally representative of everyone’s experience, another side is what I did, I actually had Magic Window and Falling Star when I fought Junker and I still had trouble, main reason is that I wasn’t doing all the challenge stuff, I didn’t really use the challenge medal and I wasn’t collecting every bean, and bc I didn’t do all the challenge node stuff, I wasn’t overflowing with coins to the point where I could buy anything and I wasn’t running around like crazy with the challenge medal equipped so I wasn’t wildly strong for this point in the game like Chugga and I wasn’t funneling almost every level up into POW, no kid would have Mario with 200 power by this point in the game, I remember getting to about 190 with Mario and I beat the final boss with not too much difficulty, I feel like kids either didn’t have falling star and Magic window for junker, they weren’t as wildly powerful or both
I mean, he was also using daredevil boots, he might not have done it one turn otherwise

When I first played through the game, I had my DS in my bedroom late at night when I wasn’t supposed to have it. I remember being terrified that when Toadsworth’s alarm went off, my parents would hear it and come confiscate my DS.
on the plus side if you hid it under your pillow when they went to the bathroom and accidentally fell asleep it would wake you up so they wouldn't confiscate it in the morning.
Considering how cool it is in boss fights to Bowser turn into a spiked ball of doom to impale anything he runs over, I'm actually impressed that this game gave some actual _utility_ to the spikes by letting them stick into soft surfaces to climb walls.

Always found it silly that he apparently wasn’t flexible enough to curl into a spike ball until now but still did it all the time for that attack. It would make more sense if the shy guy squad attack was unlocked after this point but whatever I guess.

About the spikeball not being available earlier. there's an easy explanation, the shyguys are helping him get into ball form. the acupuncture coupled with what you do to get the bodyslam is what was needed for him to do it alone in this game.
Luigi crouching reminds me of Mythra's idle animation in Xenoblade 2. Not surprising that something that a Xenoblade character does, Chugga does also irl, even if it is a coincidence.

Luigi being taken away in the Junker Fight is definitely something I absolutely hated. Since Mario is pretty much a glass cannon dying as him is practically a guaranteed moment to occur.

You taught me to be sincere when I was expected to pretend like someone else in order to receive love or help. It’s something I try to embody to this day and I consider it a great strength of mine. Im gonna do a challenge with this game
1 you can not revive ur bro until the battle is over
2 you can only heal using rest stops (no using items)
3 your only allowed to use one special thats required to finish story mode [picnic basket]
4 your not allowed to use badges
5 you are allowed to grab beans but only in 2 areas once u collected them u can not collect anymore
6 ur only allowed to attack using jump and hammers
7 if you lose you must restart the game from the beginning and start over the challenge again
And all of these apply to bowser as well! (No using items or specials unless the special is required to complete story mode!)

Chuggaa, in my eyes, Lets Plays will always be superior to streaming. I just dont have the attention span to sit through a stream.
As someone with a lot of anxiety, the idea of being in a stream and having the possibility of being seen by not only everyone in the chat, but also potentially the streamer is TERRIFYING. I am not here to be observed, I am here to observe.

Out of all the X battles, junker X kind of gave me the most trouble because of the boss trapping Luigi ( Especially when you're in low HP). Also I hope you wish Tim good luck on his wheel of fortune audition (and I do hope he does pass).

I remember as a kid, I thought Starlow was worried for Bowser and said "Oh, you're in such a pain!" Later years, I re-read it and thought that was a bit out of character for her.
And that annoyance became her character in Dream Team & Paper Jam.
Interesting thing to note, the mecha Fawfuls are the fastest Bowser enemies in the game with 90 speed, faster than the dark versions which have 30 speed, no other enemy is at 90 speed so dont worry about upgrading Bowser's speed because the final boss only has 30 something.
(I noticed this when I was leveling up Bowser.)

Dang, Bowser is getting old, in all seriousness, that teatime talk was really sweet, honestly everytime I play games I let's play them in my head so I feel inclined to try it and I have recently found a liking to editing videos, but I'm not sure I will cause I'm certainly not very good talking
Another day to mention that the Gall Socks, able to be bought inside Bowser, complements well with the Daredevil Boots. Equip the socks to Luigi and boots to Mario, and it basically makes Mario more able to survive since enemies and even bosses are much more prone to targeting Luigi. Slapping more defensive gear on Luigi also helps him stay alive really nicely!
I know Emile mentioned in a past episode that it takes a bit for him to respond cause he records alot of stuff in advance. Still, i hope he looks into this!

Streams take too much focus in my own opinion. Only time I listen to streams is when I wash dishes. I enjoy watching edited videos and let’s plays moreover than streams when I want to relax and enjoy a good story. Your videos never fail to bring a smile to my face!

I like how this game isn’t bowsers only time becoming the bowser ball form, he also does this as one of his attacks like in Mario galaxy
He also uses it in dream team as well. Bowser needs to use it more often it’s an awesome move X3

Also, they blatantly need Bowser to be at least healthy and at most at his tip-top shape. Why Starlow is enjoying Bowser’s injuries, I do not know, especially since the layout makes it clear Bowser is the only path forward.
While Bowser DOES curl into a spike ball during moves like Shyguy Squad, he doesn't have any control over his body. The shyguys NEED to push him and the bros NEED to hit him with hammers to change his direction. This is the first time he has complete control in yhe spike ball
This moment in the lumbar nook is my absolutely my favourite part of the game, and if that isn't a showcase of how truly brilliant almost every moment of this game is that it might be one if the only games that makes doing Nothing for several minutes a stand out moment every playthrough, to the point that once i learned the skip i still never used it, that quiet moment with toadsworth and toadbert is just so nice, i wish the two of them showed up still.

I appreciate you taking the time in the Lumbar Nook to just chat with us about how things have been. I know I personally took that chance to take a breather from the action too (I never found out about Toadbert's weird dream with the skip code, if that helped)! On the subject of said chat though, I don't mind when people hire editors for their channels, and it's especially important to do so if they don't have time to be editing themselves. But with that said, there's something inherently special about self-edited videos in that everything in them comes directly from the creator themselves, like it's got that special touch! It's why I still come back to your videos time and time again, and why Hermitcraft is one of my favorite series since everyone's POV feels so uniquely "them".

Snack basket is actually useful in the dark star fight. Every other special attack that hits all enemies spreads the damage out between every enemy or strikes them at random, meaning you're always wasting some damage on the dark star while it's invincible if you use them, but snack basket will only hit the satellmites, maximizing the damage done to them and being able to kill both of tjem at the same time, saving time

When I was younger, I decided to binge play this game in one weekend. I had only been playing this game for the past 2 days, and when I got to this part 3:15, it hit a different way than other times i played it. I took toadsworth's advice and set the game aside, did some stretching, and just turned my mind off and relaxed for a few minutes. I think because of that, this moment became one of my favorites in the game even though you don't do anything. And Emile, thank you for all the work you put into these videos. Throughout all your lets plays there are comments of people saying how much your videos have helped them trough tough times and it shows that these can be more than just videos to some people, so thank you for everything. This series has been fantastic and here is to many more great series after this one.

Thanks for that speech. I've been watching on and off since New Leaf, but this series may be one od the best you've done. Every episode had me totally gripped and blew away all my doubts about the classic Let's Play format. As someone who does that style himself, it was tough realizing it was declining, had a lot of depression over it for a time. And I'll admit, it kinda bums me out when a non LP video of mine or anyone else's does better than LP parts simply by virtue of... not being one. But as long as we've got a loyal audience, we'll never stop doing what we love.
That speech even touched me. The fact that Emile still does LPs, despite streaming and VTubers existing, and me rejecting AI in favor of doing 3D work myself to not only learn and put my own touches into things, but also because it's what I wanted to do... I needed to hear this.
I just realized it's a plot hole that Bowser gets the Spike Ball move so late in the game despite the fact he curls up into a ball whenever he does his Shy Guy Squad special attack.
It’s possible the logic is that he may only be just able to roll himself up when in the Shy Guy attack, but after the acupuncture Bowser can roll into a ball and move freely? It is notable that Bowser is pushed by Shy Guys when doing the Shy Guy special attack.

Okay I genuinely adore this little sit down in games. Usually I'll sit down and have tea whenever I get to this segment.
Tbh, that's lil acupressure bit reminded me to stretch out my actually dodgy back while watching. Gotta remember to do that more often, but God, the little moments in this game explain why it's a fondly remembered part of the Mario and Luigi series. It has so many nice little touches throughout the game that add to its charm.
That message during the back scene really warmed my heart chuggaa. You’ve been such an inspiration to all of us including me. I wouldn’t have done any form of content creation if it weren’t for you. I too was my own editor for a very long time and now I edit some and my friend edits the others. We’ve had an absolute blast doing these videos together and it’s all thanks to you. I like let's plays more than streaming tbh. Cause if I'm interested in a game I don't wanna watch tidbits of it whenever I'm actually able to watch it. And yeah you can watch VODs, but then you're not part of the discussion. It's sad let's plays aren't as popular anymore, but I really enjoy them, so very thankful that you still keep it up.

I will confidently say that this specific episode in this Let’s Play is definitely my favorite as well because I really, really love quiet/calming scenes moreso than ones filled with nonstop action sequences and would be interesting to see more diversity in upcoming Let’s Plays and even that highlight reveal was really one of my favorites and felt super good to see the level up animation/screen for Bowser because I really love of how detailed it looks.
Mario and Luigi having stars and a lakitu for their roulettes while Bowser getting spinning spikes and a Boo for his own iteration of the roulette, I am surprised no one else has mentioned this but a nice touch overall!!! 😈💕

Shrek 2: the game also did the same thing. The difference was after defeating the final boss.
Honestly sly 2 was the weakest for me out of the trilogy, had way more fun with 1 & 3 then I did two, mostly because I think murrey and Bentley were really tricky to get around with in two, they fixed that in three which is probably why I like them better in three.

Emile, i can only speak for myself but i personally don't enjoy streams. I liken then to going to see a band live instead of buying the studio album. Their noisy, full of interruptions, the person you're there to see is overshadowed by the other people. And in terms of let's plays specifically, the editing really does bring it together. I will always prefer and enjoy let's plays over streams.

It is in a way an art form and a way to vent out and you sir have showed me that.
During the tea break section I used to pull out a book and read. One time when the alarm went off I closed my DS so I could finishing reading first.

Hey man, I just wanna say i'm really grateful for your videos, too. I stumbled on your thousand year door lets play when i was super young. I had a pretty rough time growing up, feeling really alone in my intrests and love of video games. Lifes still quite tricky, and especially as of recent it's been a bit of a bastard, but watching you play through and talk about one of my favorite games of all time has immensely helped. Waking up every day and being like "oh hey, there's a new chugga episode at 11!" and being able to watch it with my breakfast is a small ritual of sorts, but something i sorely needed during this time.
It's odd; even though we'll probably never meet as people, I really appreciate you, man. I'm really glad you've kept up doing what you love all this time, through thick and thin. You're the best, Emile.
