John Legend and Common performed Glory a lot at other award shows. But they nor Ledisi ever had the idea to put Take My Hand, Precious Lord before Glory. It was Beyoncé's idea to do it. The Grammys never asked Ledisi to perform. Beyoncé had a spot, in which she could sung one of her own songs, but she was trying to give a boost to Glory to help it win an Oscar, too. By doing a song, that complimented Glory before it.
