My doctor removed my DJ stent today without anesthesia . They first put Xylocaine gel inside the urethra by inserting the scope. This itself was very painful. They had to make sure the gel reached the whole urethra till the bladder . So they had to push the scope further and this almost was extremely painful. When the gel stayed in there for 10 mins, it numbed the urethra and they then inserted the cystoscope in to grab the stent in the bladder. When they pulled it out, it was a shattering experience .
This procedure was done by Pune’s top most urologist.
So whoever says there is no pain, I completely disagree. Be prepared to experience hell for a few seconds

Agree.. I must say it's lesspainful and safe method for kidney stone removal surgery.. I Also gone through this surgery in last 2 months.. I had 2 surgeries.. Cause I had stone in my both kidneys and they placed dj stent 2 times.. Now I'm absolutely fine and I feel so relief.

I had an RIRS procedure a month ago. I went for the lower body anesthesia, and it was flawless, They installed the stent as there was a stone stuck in my ureter. After 15 days it was removed along with the stone in the ureter and one more stone in the kidney. 2nd time I went for the general anesthesia, there was 0 pain, literally, I didn't feel anything. Yes, you'll be uncomfortable for a couple of days due to the stent, and also because of the hospital stay, the catheter is uncomfortable. I'd recommend getting it done and do not worry about it, it's flawless if you choose a good surgeon. I had my procedure in RG Stone, East of Kailash, New Delhi. People from Delhi, it is recommended that you consult them if you have stone problems.

IF you receive a stent that requires cystoscopy to remove, keep in mind that SOME patients if not the majority find it extremely painful. Especially in males because of the anatomical differences. Since nobody can predict which patients will find it nearly unbearable, I recommend, and now demand for myself, general anesthesia for this

Great video sir ..very informative.. My father had PCNL surgery a month ago. The doctor placed a stent in the ureter. I don't know how, but during urine bag removal this stent was accidentally removed with the urine bag (after 2 days of surgery)...is there any problem if the stent is not there after the operation

Sir, if a patient is pre stented for 16 days before RIRS, done for 18mm left PUJ stone, is it necessary to put JJ stent after RIRS.

I am from Pakistan. 2 weeks pahle mere brother ka rirs huwa ha for kidney stone. Aik stone 13mm ka tha ju uper pole m pra tha and 2nd one is 7mm ju ke nechy pole m para tha.
Ubi stent nahe niklwaya because doctor ne 3weeks ka bola ha.
But he is good. Rirs is better option for stone removel.

To everyone who is thinking about getting this surgery mark my words it's painful - just now got the stunt removed and felt like delivered a baby(stunt) from my penis. while removing stone and you would not feel much pain as you will be under anesthesia but after operation for straight 2 to 3 days you will urinate blood and will fill discomfort while urinating- after 2 week the doctor will call for stunt removal - the doctor will apply anesthesia gel in to your penis and immediately he will insert the iron pipe to remove stunt -Introduction: Double J (DJ) stents are often removed under local anesthesia using a rigid cystoscope. Patients experience significant pain during this procedure and also continue to have discomfort during voiding for a few days.🙏🙏🙏only get this surgery done if this is the only option left and situation is critical.

I feel pain 8 to 9 out of 10...so you can imagine dear the level of pain...it will be better if you talk to your doctor for anesthesia...because in local anesthesia , you may pain even post sten removal for 1 to 2 days...so pls yake care and talk to your doctor

Helo doctor.. Am from bangladesh. 20 days before i had an stone removal surgery and the procedure was URS+ ICPL, DJ stant (left). And my surgeon fixed the removal date after 30 days. Now the fact is, after OT, fiest 2 days i had pain and bleeding while urin but after tht i became ok and my urin also got clear. But now the problem is, last 3 days again bleeding started and urin looks brown, and today 2 smal clouted blood also remived while passing urin.. Am also feeling little discomfort left side and pain like pin while passing urin. Unfortunately my dr is absent so i cannot contact him now. So please tell me tht whats happening, is tht dabgerous or something? What should i do now. Still 10 days ledt for removing DJ stan... ! Is tht harmful walking long time or do work with dj stan? Btw,,, i hav no fever, or vomiting tendencies. Please be kind enough to help me by suggesting wht should i do?

Sir meri 5 din pehle laser surgery hui h stone ki. Mujhe lower ureter mein 12.5 mm stone tha. Mujhe spinal anesthesia diya tha dr ne or us din se mujhe back mein pain ho rha hai or mujhe ab 1 frnd ne btaya ki ye pain ab life time rhega. Kya sir aisa kuch hai ya kuch time bad sahi ho jayega?

Doctor placed dj stent and told me for 1 months because one of my internal area is small and doctor said camera not going properly inside, that's the reason dj stent putted for one month. I have only one stone which is 3mm in size in lower pole of kidney.. but last 4 days when i pass urine it's very painfull...
is dj stent enlarge that particular area for proper access???

My stent was for 45 days and in these days I experienced that If you do some activities like running and jumping the stent makes internal scratch which results bleeding in urine and discomfortable on area of stent.
Tomorrow 21/01/2023 (45 days will complete) I am going to remove the stent... I am happy that stent will be removed and I'll get my old life full of joy back... But i am in hesitation also that what will happen... Because few people say that there is no pain and few says there is a lot of pain and even few are saying they got life time discomfort... 🥲🥲

Hi please reply i had an obstruction UPJ right side And my kidney functions went down to 55 egrf I just woke up 2 hours ago first 20 minutes i peed like 1.3 liters all had blood in it , and i still feel the need to pee its painful to pee tho... my question will my egrf numbers get back to normal? Im 28 years old and it used to be 100 egrf as i have been to my doctor before 1 year ago and they compared it ... for 5-6 days i was in pain on my roght side under the right rib cage went to doctor they checked blood it was 76 egrf then i went back 5 days it went down to 64 Then I went again For Emergency as pain wont go away they finally made ultra sound check etc eyc ams see that there i obstruction... but result today was 55 only one day tho i didnt drink much because then it caused pain do you think it will get back to normal?
