I am an art teacher in Singapore. My 4th grade students make paper. We use scraps from other projects and news paper. this video has been a fantastic introduction. Thank you!!!
Excellent ! I was just searching for a good and simple paper making video to show to my daughter and just found this. This is very simple for children to understand. Thank you!
Very excellent educational Video… this video not only explains the process of paper making but also create awareness of paper recycle. Environmental damage due to paper production can be recovered by recycling the used papers. Anyone can use this video to make children understand the process of paper making in a very realistic way, without visiting the factory…such an informative video with a good message about 3 R’s i.e. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
Hi Miles, brilliant and engaging video. I would like to use in when I do paper making workshops with primary children. Could I have permission to show it and I will of course credit you. Many thanks!
When I was 3 (when this vid was released) I asked my pre school teacher how paper was made and she pulled me aside with one of those wacky ipads and showed me this video. Man this will always and forever stick with me
Man, thanks for the comment, I had no idea this video would impact so many people's lives! I made it when I was 17, basically a kid myself too, and now I hear it's being shown in actual real schools??
(Julie) This is brilliant! We showed our Kindy's today and it was so simple! Thank you! One suggestion..even if you can voice the narration, that would be even better! :)
It is a very interesting and educating video. As the main theme of the video ia to convery to the studenta how paper is made from cutting trees. This video helps to explain the process of paper making and also the fact that tree cutting leads to deforestation. This helps to spread the mesaage that we should not waste paper.
hi. Can anyone tell me where I can find a version of this video without the subtitles please? I want to use it in class and the subtitles sometimes interfere with the captions in English. Thanks.
While babysitting an almost-5 year old Saturday: Me: Look at all the paper you've thrown away. Paper comes from trees, you know. He: (highly skeptical) Naw, paper doesn't come from trees! Me: Oh, yeah? Well, let's just go online and find out where it DOES come from! (We Googled, and found your video first. I read the captions to him) He: (While watching) The trees look sad. The truck is cutting one down. BAM! Me: That's a tree just like Doug. (Doug is a baby tree we're trying to help grow.) He: Like Doug? Doug is sad? After the video is finished playing: He: Can I watch it again? We watched it together three times, and quite a few times later. He even showed it to his 3 year old sister. Thank you, Miles, for a VERY fruitful and thought-provoking lesson. I think he'll be far more frugal with his paper use from now on, and we BOTH have upped our recycling effords. A thankful Grammy
well when making paper is involved they use trees to small for building and do that process they don't cut down a whole oak to do that and if the old paper gets burned then the plants use the CO2 to make there glucose and oxygen and if it is carried by the wind an animal will eat it and poop it out or it can get buried and will begin to decompose as nutrients for a plant which can process the chemicals humans add so it just goes in a circle

What’s the difference between paper and cardboard?
hi Miles,
I used your video to explain about paper making process to my classmates. thanks for sharing
The video is really well done, but there's a sinister feeling to it.
It's good that it feels wrong, because IT IS! Paper can be made from so many things, it's sad to kill something that takes YEARS to grow.
R.I.P. Tree
ikr lol
Morning Miles, this explanation best I've seen ... great for kids, Mary :)
