Thanks for posting. I like your gentle, conservative approach to dial cleaning. Preserving patina and as much of the original face as possible keeps the history of these older watches intact. If I wanted a new watch, its better to buy one!
Hi. I'm. Brand new to the fascinating world of horology. I'm a Christian lady living in England. Trying to find a watch with a little inheritance as my lovely Mum just passed away in May. I want to say how good your videos are. I'm hoping to clean my own mechanical vintage watch when I have purchased it.. Probably ebay. I'm praying not to be ripped off. Bless you for sharing your knowledge with the world. No chemicals great. 🙏👍
Thank you for watching our videos. I also really like the classic look of the old Timex watches. The Marlins and Mercurys from about 1961-68ish are some of my favorites.
I have a 1963 Benrus, full raised numeral dial.Sweep second hand."Shark tooth lugs" I've heard that this dial style was called " Cafeteria Clock".It does remind me of the clocks on the wall of my grammar school in the early 1960's. It's a SS steel case, front load. I'm not a big fan of expansion bracelets but it looks perfect on this watch. Very 1960's.
Thank you for watching our videos. I bought mine on eBay. The seller I used has not items currently listed. I found some from a different seller that are similar but not exactly the same. On eBay type in the following search 100Pcs Tip Foam Cleaning Swabs Sponge Sticks Qtips great for Electronics EarPods
I appreciate the vintage automatic Timex content, there is very little available. I am repairing a Timex 78103 and have had some problems with low main spring tension or friction in the spring as the watch acts underpowered. Do you have a m107 movement in stock?
Thank you for watching our videos. The early Timex automatics are very nice but it is super common for them to only run 6-8 hours when fully wound. I'll look today to see if I have a m107 and I'll try to get back with you this evening.
It is the green cleaning tool I used in the video. It is nice because it has artificial fibers. Cotton fibers are not as good because they get snagged on the metal number markers. Thanks for watching our video.
Shouldn’t you be wearing gloves to keep the oil from your fingers off of the dial and movement? You took the paint off of the 8 and the 12, think you violated your own rule!
Your videos are so informative and helpful.

There were four models from 1965, that dial was the same as a 1968 model I have, but with slightly different case.

There is no paint missing from any of the numbers that I can see. I believe you are wrong.
