I know this may sound crazy but I use organic, cold pressed castor oil on my face each night. I love how my face feels with castor oil. I put it on rather thick especially on my lashes and brows. helps to make them grow thicker.
I enjoyed this video and I have to add my endorsement of both Linda Rodin and L'Occitane oils. I've known Linda since the days she was mixing oils in her apartment in New York. She is a lovely woman with class and style and really has done so much research on her oil recipes. Although she is still working with her products, Estee Lauder has purchased her company. For price point, I use the L'Occitane divine oil for its excellent natural qualities. On my RUclips channel I have done video tutorials on both oils and facial acupressure because at 78 I know they really work. Thank you for your many informative chats for those of us over sixty,
Hi Margaret I use Estée Lauder night repair serum and have been using for years along with all the range pulse mix my serum into my Estée Lauder double wear foundation, being 67 yrs old everyone comments on my skin which of course is delightful ! Regards to all liz from uk.
My skin has become shockingly dry and I was reacting to every moisturiser I used except for Simple. But the Simple moisturiser wasn't rich enough. So I have been adding drops of almond oil and glycerin to the Simple Rich Moisturiser and finally I have found my perfect skin cream! I use Aveeno products on my body to wash and moisturise. Oils are wonderful!
I grow Calendula and make an oil infusion. I add essential oils of frankincense, geranium, bergamot, lavender and ylang ylang. I also have aloe plants and use it daily, fresh. I like alternating these with a body butter that I make with organic shea butter and organic coconut oil with the above essential oils.
thank you for this wonderful video, Margaret! First, let me say how pretty you look in the salmon color tee you are wearing for this video.....love the neckline as well. My love affair with oils began 30 years ago when I was still acne prone and oily skinned. I tried lotus oil from Clarins which decreased pore size and had a tightening effect on the skin. I was hooked! Today at age 60, the acne is gone..(thanks to Accutane)...and I am definitely in the normal/ dry skin type. Let me say I am also extremely sensitive so I shy away from essential oils. My favorite oil to use is argan oil. It is also anti-inflammatory , so it has benefits for sensitive type skin. Things to look for when purchasing an oil, is to find one that is cold pressed as heat destroys some of the benefits in the processing. I like to use argan over my serums, day and night with the addition of hyaluronic acid on top, at night. I also wanted to caution consumers as to labeling......"Moroccan" oil may contain some aragan oil in it, but will have other (less expensive) oils added to it, thereby reducing (in my opinion) it's effectiveness. I buy my oil from a company called Makeupartistschoice.com, which also sells serums, skin peels, etc. They have a knowledgable staff who are more than willing to answer questions.....I purchase many of my serums from them as well. Pricing is reasonable. Thank you, and I love the skincare video. PS..........cammelia oil is also recommended for drier skin, but I have not tried as yet......I also love jojoba as a body oil.....xo
I’m 66, have fairly sensitive skin and allergies, and had terrible irritation from Yves Rocher plant-based cosmetics, so I’m a bit leery of oils. I’ve tried many serums, and most seem to “pill” under my night cream. I have had great luck with H20 Infinity+ Hydrating Serum (hyaluronic acid), though. I love its fresh non-perfumey scent that isn’t very herbal or fruity, either. My dermatologist still can’t believe I’m over 60, so I guess it’s working. It’s available online, but I get mine at larger Walgreens stores with specialty skin care aisles. (Neither Sephora nor Ulta carry it). As for coconut oil, it (along with aloe vera gel) got me through my radiation treatments (TMI, I know) with minimal redness. I do cook with it-but what it does best is season my cast iron skillets, without stink or stickiness.
I use Cerave moisturizer cream. I have used it consistently over the last year and have noticed a significant difference in my skin texture. I use it on my face, feet and body and no longer have any issues with dryness. Many people have told me I look like I am in my 40’s. I am 64.
I just found your channel. I'm enjoying your videos. I just started my channel 2 weeks ago and I never knew how hard it was to actually make them. If it weren't for you women I don't know if ti could ever do them. These videos inspired me
Thanks Margeret, you have me thinking of oils again. A great thing to do too is a self-massage with oils too... omg, my skin felt so soft and supple after. It made me remember what my skin always used to feel like naturally! ;) There are some great ayervedic massage videos online. Another thing that I've read about some of these natural oils is that they're not only good for your skin but actually are supposed to be good for your body inside too when absorbed. I think that's something we forget, everything we put on our skin is absorbed and taken into our blood stream. Some people even go so far as to say, they would never put anything on their skin, that they wouldn't eat, so they only use oils for moisturizing. Food for thought! (no pun intended :) p.s. You look great without make-up! I like your hair back too, it's a soft look too. Thanks!
I enjoyed this video very much and found it informative. You asked if we would be interested in more videos like this and I would say yes. I love all the videos you do - great way to start or catch up on the day. Just keep doing what you do!! Deb :-)
Thanks so much Deb - if you ever have any ideas or suggestions on products you'd like me to feature, please let me know! :-) My email is margaret@sixtyandme.com :-)
i tried olay facial oil with my retinol night cream from marshalls, and yes i am happy with results, does not harm my oily skin, results even skin tone, smooth forehead, underbags and baby cheeks and the neck is not younger but look way less creepy this is my second bottle in 7 months.
Etsy is a great source to look for facial oils that usually are natural ingredients and at reasonable prices! Thanks for the review and Blessings ~Sidney
Pure almond oil is the best ever and relatively cheap..Listened to lecture by dermatologist and he said most skincare products are purely marketing and are not able to delay the ageing process. So ladies take heed and save your money for experiences!
Hi Margaret, I use IT cosmetics,. In fact I use it exclusively. IT has a moisturizer called confidence in a cream. My skin LOVES it. I have been told I look very young, and I am nearly 63. I know it is from using IT cosmetics because of how my skin has changed from using it. The confidence in a cream is $48.00 so it isn't sky high, but still a little pricey. It is worth every penny. Thanks for your channel. Laurie
thanks Margaret. I love the Andalou Natural products. Their serums and facial oils are very good and very sensibly priced. I can get them in Canada for under $20.
I find a bottle of 100% pure organic jojoba oil is the best for my skin. No nonsense and no marketing hype. And many other oils are irritating to my skin. Best of all, jojoba oil is very inexpensive. I think my 4 oz bottle cost maybe $12 at most.
Hi Gail, yes I should have mentioned jojoba because I did some research and it appears to be very close to the natural "sebum" of human skin - that is the waterproof coating of skin that all mammals have :-) Very interesting. I must try it myself! :-)
Hi, I use organic sweet almond oil for my face twice daily, it has made my skin feel and look better, however I’m not confident that I am doing right by this. I have heard so many times that you should only maybe use oil twice weekly. Any advice?
I just started using one you recommended. It’s the L’Oréal pink moisturizer. It’s lovey. I didn’t catch whether you have looked at emu oil. I’ve used some in the past and liked it a lot.
I use coconut oil as a face cleanser and a moisturizer! I keep a bottle by my shower and slather it on my face and body after every shower. It works great for me.
Are there any oils that address "age" spots? that will fade them? And is a special diet helpful? Thanks for your wonderful videos. I just turned 70 in the summer and I am trying to eat lighter and more vegan as well as stay out of the hottest parts of the day to help as well as hydrating myself well.
Goop isn’t too well thought of. I used prevage for years, and it worked very well. But high priced. I’ve been experimenting for a year. Argan oil is great for my cuticles, and I put it on my face and hair tips and roots. Wash out of hair after use. CeraVe comes very highly recommended.
That’s what my mom uses and she has beautiful skin at 90 years of age. I love Dove soap-wish they’d make it without sodium laurel sulfate, but it is wonderful.
I'm watching this close to 4 years after this video came out....but I want to say you look great here, Margaret. You said you were only wearing a little something on your mouth.
Uh oh. I’ve been using coconut oil all over my body especially the bottom of my feet for about a year...It has gotten rid of dry skin on my feet like nothing else. Is this wrong?
Donna Reid It's right to use it all over like that if it helps you. I have. As a Licensed Massage Therapist I used Olive and Castor oil on Patients at the Office.
I love all the oils you talked about the cacao oil from oils of heaven sounds so interesting and so does the jojoba oil for $12. I use also coconut oil for cleanser and wipe it off..Thanks and Blessings!
Hi Shirley - i think it could be - i love the facial oil i am using from www.agingyoungergracefully.com - i get no commission at all - just love the product. There are many others - i would suggest Rose Hil Oil as well :-)
Thank you so much for this video hon! It was just what I was looking for :) Is there any way you can add the links to the description bar so that we can go the websites via your links???
great video thank you very inforative I was wondering if you heard of SOCO Bontaicals they have a product called symphony elixir that is wonderful Iwould love to see you do a video on their products
You are darling… I don’t believe all celebrities use products they suggest. Natural natural natural is it! You can purchase $10-$20 Acure. for example.
I thought of you and then searched for your channel. I have 2 argan oils, one is unscented and the other strangely smells like roasted nuts. I'm 57 yrs old and starting to get dry skin so need to do better care now.
Hi Sharon - another wonderful plant oil that i have not heard of - I did a little research - and it sounds wonderful!! africanbotanics.com/pages/the-beauty-and-skin-care-benefits-of-marula-oil :-) Thanks for sharing.
These expensive oils are a rip off, in my opinion. I use Rose Hips seed oil and it is excellent. It's great for hair and skin...as well as jojoba oil and even organic olive oil. Goop website is definitely selling/advertising.
I know this may sound crazy but I use organic, cold pressed castor oil on my face each night. I love how my face feels with castor oil. I put it on rather thick especially on my lashes and brows. helps to make them grow thicker.
A dermatologist told me castor oil is the best.

I love the clarity and thoroughness you bring - along with your own very valuable experiences - to ushering in this new wave of products, Margaret!

Each natural oil has its unique benefits and it depends upon your skin and how it accepts those benefits.

Your tutorial on oils was helpful. Thank you.
I love this info and would love more like it. I don't like 20 steps in the morning and at night.
Is there a list of these oils as I could not see the labels very well..Thank you and be safe,

I use coconut oil as a face cleanser and a moisturizer! I keep a bottle by my shower and slather it on my face and body after every shower. It works great for me.
And I use a nice quality "cooking" organic coconut oil from Whole Foods and it is lovely. No need to spend $170 :)
Are there any oils that address "age" spots? that will fade them? And is a special diet helpful? Thanks for your wonderful videos. I just turned 70 in the summer and I am trying to eat lighter and more vegan as well as stay out of the hottest parts of the day to help as well as hydrating myself well.
Meera Shah Geranium Esential oil is superb for sun spots👌just make sure to dillute in coconut oil , olive oil or sweet almond oil
Rosehip oil. And better yet, more effectively, cacay oil.
I use Josie Maran 100% cold pressed argan oil and some other of her oils and creams
I love CereVe.

Paradise point condones Montgomery Texas

Donna Reid
Be sure you are eating oil. It's necessary in diet... Not only outside... Have a good Life....
Donna Reid
It's right to use it all over like that if it helps you. I have. As a Licensed Massage Therapist I used Olive and Castor oil on Patients at the Office.
I don’t find it that great for anything other than makeup removal.
What is it Called the Oil with the green label ?
I love all the oils you talked about the cacao oil from oils of heaven sounds so interesting and so does the jojoba oil for $12. I use also coconut oil for cleanser and wipe it off..Thanks and Blessings!

Iwould love to see you do a video on their products
I love coconut and glasses oil get it in the grocery store.
I'm going to look for this @ my local grocer- Thank You💜
The prices of these oils are too steep for my budget. However, Burts Bees makes a nice one and TJ Max also has a wonderful selection of oils.
Bees wax causes a horrible problem for my skin. Cannot use it at all...even the lip balm chaps my list terribly
Great info. Have you updated this post with any new oils or serums you’ve tried? And, perhaps more affordable.
Can you spell the name of the oil ?
Nuxe is a great "dry" oil. Some Target stores carry Nuxe. I purchased online from France. Free shipping with a minimum purchase.
You are darling… I don’t believe all celebrities use products they suggest. Natural natural natural is it! You can purchase $10-$20 Acure. for example.
cacay oil is excellent!!!
Hi Shirley - yes I love it too!
How about argan oil I am a senior
I thought of you and then searched for your channel. I have 2 argan oils, one is unscented and the other strangely smells like roasted nuts. I'm 57 yrs old and starting to get dry skin so need to do better care now.
Eminence natural products are EXCELLENT. I've used them for years. Check their website.
Please list the oils especially the $40.00 one
Hi Lynn, the oil that i love for $40 is from www.growingyoungergracefully.com :-) The others are all listed on www.goop.com
You are so sweet, thanks. I'm turning 60 and not handling post menopause well at all and I just found a couple of grey hairs YIKES
What about merula oil?
Sorry, I think it is marula oil.
Goop website is definitely selling/advertising.
.....you can't change the hands, they will always give you away.
Can you spell the kekei oil
It's Caycay oil.
