Denzel is one of only a handful of newer rappers I listen to. But even in saying that he's probably in my top 5 all time rappers. His flow and beats are top notch and can listen to him for hours on end.
denzel has said openly that he is aware of what he has cultivated: a catalogue where all of his full length releases are critically acclaimed. At a certain point he says realized what a gift that is and stopped focus on trying to blow up, because he really really really doesn't want to break the streak of great, acclaimed albums. Many artists much more successful as him cannot make the same claim, and denzel understands that this is what gives you a legacy in hip hop more then the commercial success of records. There's tons of #1 records that are forgotten a year after release, but denzel will keep putting out great projects that will stand the test of time. he didn't always, but now he knows exactly what he's doing. incidentally your vid left out something kinda big: Nostalgic 64 was HUGE in underground hip hop and that is what set the stage for 32 Zel/Planet Shroom.

Denzel talented, bro can rap for sure but there just isn’t much that stands out about him to put him in the spotlight. He flows well on songs but the flow itself has a generic lyrical sound. Anytime I think to listen to Denzel I just end up putting on Joey Badass instead, he’s generally got better production, his flows are more diverse and you can put him in almost any musical environment and he will thrive.
Imo Denzel is up there with AOTY this is by far his most clean and polished album he has dropped but also he dropped in a weird time with Kendrick and JID dropping their albums as well and honestly I think the forever story will win it but Denzel is gonna get his recognition if he drops another album of this quality

when i think of 2010's hiphop, i think of tyler, kendrick, ye, & denzel. people really need to start putting respect on his name as one of the best rappers atm

Denzel is one of only a handful of newer rappers I listen to. But even in saying that he's probably in my top 5 all time rappers. His flow and beats are top notch and can listen to him for hours on end.
If you see this, listen to '13lood in + 13lood out". Talk about underrated. The ultimate hidden gem of his discography.

denzel has said openly that he is aware of what he has cultivated: a catalogue where all of his full length releases are critically acclaimed. At a certain point he says realized what a gift that is and stopped focus on trying to blow up, because he really really really doesn't want to break the streak of great, acclaimed albums. Many artists much more successful as him cannot make the same claim, and denzel understands that this is what gives you a legacy in hip hop more then the commercial success of records. There's tons of #1 records that are forgotten a year after release, but denzel will keep putting out great projects that will stand the test of time. he didn't always, but now he knows exactly what he's doing.
incidentally your vid left out something kinda big: Nostalgic 64 was HUGE in underground hip hop and that is what set the stage for 32 Zel/Planet Shroom.
Being underrated is the Sacrafice he had to make to be independent and have full creative control. He’s not signed to a major label taking all the profits and control his image
The line from Percs still applies to him to this day. He should be up there with Kendrick but nobody is realizing this. Everyone talks about Kendrick and Cole but Cole honestly shouldn’t be there. He’s good but Denzel is far better.

Denzel Curry doesn’t need to prove anything to anybody. He has not had one bad album. He is a top inspiration for me in terms of concept, artistry, and energy.

I meant like as in to a mainstream audience... but I don't like N64 that much either
Denzel talented, bro can rap for sure but there just isn’t much that stands out about him to put him in the spotlight. He flows well on songs but the flow itself has a generic lyrical sound. Anytime I think to listen to Denzel I just end up putting on Joey Badass instead, he’s generally got better production, his flows are more diverse and you can put him in almost any musical environment and he will thrive.
I wish Joey and Denzel collabed more. They both got something that the other is missing

Imo Denzel is up there with AOTY this is by far his most clean and polished album he has dropped but also he dropped in a weird time with Kendrick and JID dropping their albums as well and honestly I think the forever story will win it but Denzel is gonna get his recognition if he drops another album of this quality
