Handlebar Risers
These handlebar risers allow the rider a much more relaxed and upright seating position. They provide a huge improvement in comfort and handling. The handlebar is moved 40mm (1.57 inches) and in addition, the riser can be rotated on the handlebar, allowing you to find the ideal position. It doesn't get more customized that that!
The risers are precision machined of solid aluminum and anodized.

That's is the hard way of doing it. When I installed mine I used a different tool to remove the handle bars without removing the throttle, blinker controls etc. I removed them as one piece. I did the whole job within an hour. They work a treat and a better riding position for me. All BMW bikes I have owned the standard bar setup has never worked for me. Hence the reason for handlebar risers. Good video!
And what is this different tool? The one from Illium? Let me know because Illium sell it for 125$!
@@Davan514 yes, where I live a guy rents the tool for $25, so you don't have to buy it.
Hey Mike, I know it has been a while since this post, but I had a question. When you installed the risers, did it also bring the controls back some? I would like them to be a little closer to me, even if it was only an inch or so. Thanks in advance.
To a point. There is only so much of an angle you can set the risers back. It is more about lifting the bars and angle them slightly back to a position that is good for you.
@bmwr1200rtse did you still have to remove paint from the bars when installing them into the risers?
For those that are going to tackle this install PAY attention to the instructions. I thought I was smart enough and started the install without realizing there was a right and a left. Trying to get them off after realizing this was a nightmare.
Die Schrauben am Riser und und an den Lenkrohren werden mit blauer Schraubensicherung eingepinselt und angeschraubt. Dann werden die Griffe und der Rest wieder montiert und fast zum Schluss die Riser und die Lenkrohre mit Drehmoment festgezogen. Ist da die Schraubensicherung noch flüssig?
