The ninja 400 has good power. You just have to ride it in “sport mode” ie cruise in a gear that keeps you around 7k rpm. “Comfort mode” is the reverse, you’re going to try to stay below 4K rpms. That’ll reduce the throttle response a TON which makes for easy riding with less engine braking
I don't think ninja 400 has riding modes. Are you sure about it?
@@BadzeeYT did you bother to read what he said?...reading comprehension...
@@timsgta my bad. I comprended wrong
@@BadzeeYT lol np
Good tips
I think everyone wants a bigger bike, but the 400 is GREAT for people who are not looking to get into too much trouble too quickly. Im 6 foot and 220 pounds, but im going with that ninja 400 for the first couple of years before upgrading. I definitely can see a 600 or 1000 several years down the line, but it just seems like a lot of power and weight to handle for someone who is brand new.
Now I know what to do if I ever need cheering up: just listen to you two! You guys are a riot!
Thanks for watching!!!! Helps us out a lot!!!!!
The ninja 400's are amazing bikes. Just got a pre owned 2018 candy plasma blue one with only 1,300 miles on it. Got the leovince exhaust on it as well as the sliders. Great bike, as a beginner i dont ever feel i will switch to a bigger bike. Thats how amazing they are!! more power than i will ever need. Plus that leovince exhaust is so deep. Gotten alot of compliments on this bike riding around.
1,300 miles pretty much brand new congrats on the find!!!! Ya man the LEO sounds amazing on the 400. RIDE SAFE brother thanks for watching helps me out a shit ton!
As a beginner you feel like you will never switch to a bigger bike. Key word is beginner. One day when you are an experienced rider you will want a bigger bike. Back in the day I started on a Ninja 250 and I thought it was plenty fast until I became experienced and bought a Honda CBR600. After riding the 600 I would never go down in power. I went on to own many bikes, nothing smaller than the 600.
@@fastdude2002 Thats why I started on the 600 :)
What’s the top speed on it though idk if i wanna buy a bike that I’ll have to upgrade from in a year
The conversations they have while riding is hilarious
😂
I bought a 2022 ninja 400 in January. Yesterday was the first day I was able to get on it. Canadian winters are never-ending .
Ya must be really cold
I love these videos! Just bought a 2023 ninja 400 and my bf has a GSRX 600 so it’s hilarious. I’m just starting out again after a long break so your videos are great, thank you guys!!
Yessss thats awesome
Yo King, the clutch squeak sound effect at 3:27 is PERFECT!
TY Mr. BC
The 400cc roadbike is a completely unique class of bike for most of the reasons the girl mentioned in this video,I used to own a Yamaha RD400 back in the '80's and it looks like the Ninja400 is the modern day RD400 but quicker stock and more top end as well and obviously equipped with all the great modern features such as ABS, and I really like the styling of the Ninja series as well. Like the RD you'll be using all your gears going from 0 to 100 MPH/160KMPH
Thanks for all the tips you're very informative.. it's always best to get tips for beginners from a beginner
My thoughts exactly!!!!! Thanks brother!
I’m 5’5 and thought I was too short for a sports bike, but this definitely makes me want this.

Agreed. It was fun and informative.
I started on Ninja 650, 2018, perfect bike for me. I'm 5'5", am mature rider started in my 50's,
Ninja 650 excellent bike!!! Thanks for watching brother!
Started in your 50's. Nice!
I'm 5'-10" and after a year of riding my 400 I found it to be uncomfortable as hell. I couldn't go more than 45 before want to ditch it and walk. I've now replaced the stock seat with the ergo seat that has drastically improved my comfort level over all.
Absolutely you have the flexibility with your height to change out the stock seat cushion for a better one. She could maybe get away with it but I think she would rather be able to almost flat foot it than to have to tip toe when stopped.
So I’m 6 3 Would it be bad to get this bike
where can I find another type of seat and is it easy to change yourself?
@@sebbyhumphreys4060 So, I'm 6 4 ... did you get one?
Love the Lake Murray Damn run. I ride it frequently on my Ninja 400
I have had my ninja 400 for a year now from new,i think its a fantastic bike great to ride,to be honest i can't fault it at all,its very quick easy to handle.very impressive
Totally agree
I've ridden for years, have ridden bigger bikes. I love curvy twisty roads, so I purchased a red 2021 Ninja 400. The bike is a ton of fun in the curves, it will rip because it is so light, and it handles very well. It looks great, I did do some upgrades, Krace CNC Billet adjustable levers, Akrapovic slip on, rear fender delete, Kuryakyn grips, LED underglow kit, BMC high flow air filter. Looking to upgrade the rear sprocket to a 43 tooth, but for now I'm good. I have had my bike to 130, which is actually 125 according to the GPS. So, replacing the levers took the "slack" out of the clutch. Now, instead of the clutch coming half way out before starting to engage, it starts as soon as you let out on it. Down side to the brake lever, it does the same thing, so it engages the light switch very quickly. If you cover your clutch and brake levers when coming to a stop, more than likely your brake lights will illuminate, even if you aren't applying pressure enough to engage the brakes. But, I got used to it, now I just put two fingers over the brake lever. One thing bad about the bike, actually has nothing to do with Kawasaki, and it's the tires. Those Dunlop tires suck for treadwear, everyone complains about them. But, I am getting different ones
DAMN my boy did some upgrades on his bike I'm sure the Akrapovic slip on sounds amazing on it. Glad your liking the bike and I would have to agree with you on the tires.
I'm excited because I'm getting myself this bike for my birthday and this video made me tell the dealership I don't need to see anymore options... I'm a noob and this will be my first think you subbed keep up with the videos not sure how it works with aftermarket parts but maybe do a video on that?
HELL YA! we got videos on the mods we have on it and a how to ride video for the ninja 400. If you need me to link you I will!
cool review format King, I like the two perspectives !

Ugh I miss my bike so much!! I think I might get a 400 honestly. It tops out just right. I went for a test on the 600 and the 400 and cost and seating position. Plus I'm short like queen lol 5.7 so hopefully I'll get a 400 soon!! Also u know what would be frickin amazing!! If in the future when u get a bunch of subs that have bikes. Ha perfect. I just bought this bike but the ABS version so basically the exact same bike and I'm 5'4". As someone who would be a new rider I really think all the features that are available in this really do make it a great or perfect first bike :) I'm 5'9 190 pounds, I like that this is versatile in that I could take it short rides or longer rides without issue :) I was pretty on the fence between this or the 650 but I feel like this would be better for me c:
Me too, I own a cruiser but would like to get either the 400 or the 650 Ninja.
@@SB-mw1bg Right, I'm glad I'm not alone there and yeah I think either would be a great option! The more I see the 400 the more I'm like this could be it.
Considerably less $$ as well.
@@SB-mw1bg True!! Yeah the 400 is quite a lot more affordable indeed!
Yeah I’m gonna be riding next season I. Which I’m debating on what I want to get as I’m a smaller guy and still need riding experience as I don’t wanna kill myself when pushing (if I was to get a 650) it to see how fast I can go even tho it’s not about speed.
I’m 5’5 & 110 pounds so with that being said I’m thinking I should drive a ninja 400 for a season and get the hang of riding and slowly upgrade.
Let me know your thoughts
ive been riding 30+ years and this bike is perfect. just enough power to get into trouble

The way you two act is just like me and my lady lmao love it. She loves you guys as well.

TY brother!!!!!!! This helps out a lot!
That answer my question. I was debating between the 400 and the R3 for another bike to teach short female's (5'-3" and up) if they can flat foot. I heard the clutch is to soft (replacing the clutch spring should solve it). I use to own a ZX-7R (first bike) but I'm laying my eyes on a MV Agusta F3. I been riding since early 1990's.
Hi bro! New subs here! Great bike and great review. Planning to buy that beast bike... see u!

@@SunGymLive already on it! Watched all of them! Appreciate it! Leaning towards that ninja 400 but the place queen got hers from outta stock on all 400s
There is a ninja 400 in my local bike shop and it looks just like yours and i want it bad
good choice brother!
Nice! Like hearing how she feels about our bike. Only thing for me is I want more power. Not faster necessarily, just want to get up there and scoot a bit quicker. Have one already picked out, maybe next year.
THE MOTO NINJA!!! Ya I would need more power as well.
Then put a tuner on your bike
ZX4R is coming, 400 with an I4 like the 600 and 1000. Should be a significant boost in HP, but in the higher RPMs
Little late but get a drop in air filter, a tune, and a full exhaust.
Really enjoyed this review. Great back and forth commentary with both of you having communication letting us hear both sides...really different and interesting. However......Bro, no gear? T-shirt and sneakers? Not good form and not a good influence on other riders. We don't want to see the video and hear the commentary of you in the emergency room getting the gravel scraped out of your wounds. Ride safe.
THEY look like sneakers but we both wear riding shoes. armored pants, armored gloves, and helmets. She always wears her jacket I am on and off with it. THANKS for the feedback brother thanks for watching helps us out a lot!
Great video
I also want a bit more lean. Not quite like your bike but a little more because more comfy for me. I am 5 8, and don’t like being so straight up.
Less Scooter more Sporty I get ya!
That's the way Queen, in it for the fun. They will all go fast enough to lose your license. You can sometimes even have more fun on a small chuckable bike like the 400 or the older CBR250RR (man that bike screams awesome like an F1 car) or something like a KTM 390 Duke than a bigger litre bike. Haha just message on discord and follow the program! Queen's gear changes are nice and smooooooth.
Its more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow :)

Would you recommend this bike to a high schooler instead of a car?
No
I’ve been riding since I was a kid and have owned many motorcycles over the years.Im been looking at this bike for for a hard minute.Just looking now for a small bore sport bike just to cruise around on and enjoy the ride. No more speed for me. Just want to get out on my weekends a go for rides.
This might be the perfect fit.
? Coming from your experience how does this 400 feel to you? Just had a hip replacement a month ago and am hoping to be able to throw my leg over this bike when I heel.
@@Elisplushies360woodierc Funny you ask that we are about to release a comparison video between the ninja 400 / gsxr 600 and which to choose for new riders. I no your not a new rider but my thoughts on the 400 will be in the video. Based on what you said a ' smaller ' sports bike want to just ' cruise ' around and ENJOY the ride man you basically just described the Ninja 400.
What mods would you recommend for new riders? You mention a few here on the 400, are they for safety or for comfort?
The grippers are to help your legs stick to the tank of your bike for better control. The sliders are incase you drop that B. Finally the exhaust is to make your bike louder so the cars can hear you coming brother!!!!!

Ahhh can never go wrong with gunmetal!
Never rode a bike b4 but can u start on a 600 if I don't b on the throttle ia 5'9 I know how to drive a stick shift car
100% you can start on a 600. I did with ZERO motorcycle experience and NEVER driven a manual car. My FIRST bike was the GSXR 600 with over 100hp. So yes.. it is possible as long as you have THROTTLE control!
@@SunGymLive ok thank u
Awesome video. i've been trying to decide if I wanna jump up to the 400 or go to the R7? i currently ride a gsxr250 and looking to upgrade
OOOO brother that is a choice. If you want give me your thoughts between both? IF I WAS YOU.... I would go with the R7. Would not have to upgrade after that. With the 400 you may want to upgrade again in the future. Your baby gixxer was your starting bike. 400 is another starter bike. MY VOTE = R7 Baby!
@@SunGymLive i would love to go for the r7 as that would most likely be my final sportsbike and I feel ready for a bike like that. On the other hand a lot of people I've been talking to say going from a 250 to a 650+ sportsbike will be a huge gap and that something like a 400 would be a great step buttttt as you've said the 400 is a learner bike. that's my thoughts.
@@arvistis509 I mean I started on a GSXR 600 which is more powerful than the r7. You can start on any bike AS LONG as you have throttle control and know what you are doing. Either option is a good option just ride safe!
@@SunGymLive I'd definitely go for the gsxr 750 but our roads here in New Zealand aren't very good for super fast bikes, so the r7 would probably be the best choice as it's more centered for commuting rather than the gsxr 600 or 750

@@SunGymLive ah okay sick ty

Whats your personal opinion on 650s and opinion on them for beginner riders?
I started on a GSXR 600 with over 100hp. You can start on any bike as long as you understand clutch and throttle control. The higher cc bikes are less forgiving if you give it to much throttle at the start, during a turn, hell doing anything you are going to fly and it might freak out a new rider. Lower cc bikes won't have that much power. A 650 has some power but can still be a first bike to someone. Take a course to practice.
She asked are they open and there is literally an electric sign that says Open.
Lololol
If you over 25 years old i recommend u don't waste ur money and start on 650cc
