Why I love the show so far: 1. The relationship between Peter and Aunt May is perfectly established within only 4 minutes. 2. The two of them are not afraid to say “Uncle Ben” to indicate that the guy played a significant part of their lives; unlike a certain iron man jr. We once knew. 3. The show has Spidey actually in a friendly neighborhood kind of handle that we rarely have seen. 4. The side characters are actually written out and loved. They are not just side pieces that are there for usage of dumb jokes like how side characters in the MCU Spider-Man film was. 5. The supporting hero characters are awesome. 6. Lonnie IS NOT THE JOCK STEREOTYPE!!!! That was such a breath of fresh air to see that a jock is so much more. 7. Whatever is goin fin with Lonnie, I can’t help but feel sorry for him. He seems like a great kid and appear to be going through a tough thing. I don’t know if he is really putting on a positive face to not let his problems show or if he really such a kind kid. His character has really had me intrigued about him so far. 8. This show is already doing things way better than the Mcu Spider-Man did. (I am not a fan of the race and gender swaps though.)

Sony did Spectacular Spider-Man but gave the rights to make Spider-Man Animated shows back the Marvel/Disney so they could keep making the movies, So unless Sony lets Marvel/Disney continue the show since they own the rights to it its NEVER going to happen.

I honestly agree, after the end of Tom holland s trilogy I’ve been thinking that If it had a tie in tv series set between films, then hardcore fans could get the spider-man experience their craving, and so far this is honestly the closest thing to that.

I'm loving the series so far! The only gripes I have are the spider being from another dimension instead of being radioactive/genetically altered from a lab and Peter carrying a tank, it shouldn't bother me, but I always keep asking to myself, "Since when did Peter ever need tanks and tubes to store web fluid? Isn't that what the web cartridges from his belt and web shooters are for?" I totally respect them wanted to be different, but wouldn't that just make him more vulnerable during battles? As it was shown in the comic version when he was fighting the Enforcers. But all and all, I enjoy this version, the animation feels like an improvement from the 2017 series, especially the swinging scenes with the great music to go with it. And the characters are surprisingly good, especially Norman Osborn. This show definitely felt like 60s, Spectacular, MTV and MCU all into one. So can't wait for more!

I understand you, brother. But sooner or later... this characterization of Peter Parker needs to grow and mature. The whole quirky, stuttering, fumbling, dork, and nice guy teddybear sanitization of peter parker is getting repetitive. They have to dive deeper into him... they should release him from this persona and finally bring him into a level where he's confident around ANYBODY. One who speaks plainly and doesn't pause in his words every damn time and also stands up for himself by biting back against those who try to get in his face. Have an edge, like his spidey side. He should embrace his snarky and witty nature, i swear. Like fr... as Spider-Man, he has this "i don't take you seriously" and "i don't have time for this" attitude that i just dig. Peter should be like that also when outside the mask. They also should not ignore his faults. Like his anger issues and selfish nature. The amount of narrative depth they can dive into when it comes to peter fighting against this stuff is vast. I just pray... they let this peter grow into this type of mature narrative.
I completly agree. Spider-Man needs to break into mature audiences like how Batman did. He has always been that way in the comics but the recent tv shows don’t get that.

Haven’t heard from you in a while because I wondering if you saw more of Hickman’s Ultimate Spider-Man comics,Kraven the Hunter movie and Batman the caped Crusader, because if you were going to see Captain America 4 I suggested that you see Edward Norton’s Hulk as it finally brought up the rise of the Leader subplot.
I found these first two episodes to be mediocre but I am hoping the rest of season of the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man proves me wrong but we shall see.
I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed. It just seem like it was changing too much for my taste like batman caped crusader. But the first tqo episodes are really well made and I am curious to see where this series gods.

I don't really think it understands Spider-Man that well. Peter Parker's portrayal could be way better, and this version of Spider-Man isn't really all that similar to how Spider-Man actually was as a teen. This Spider-Man is closer to MCU Spider-Man or maybe a bit of OG ultimate Spider-Man, I guess. Which can be fine. But I would prefer at least some Spider-Man adaptations to actually get a more comic accurate portrayal of more OG Peter. Esp. since, we don't actually get this a lot (like MCU Spider-Man. Who I still like, but he isn't really accurate to OG comic) Peter. Peter is just really missing some of his traits, flaws, etc. Including some of his more interesting ones. Like his anger, selfishness, greed, willingness to stand up to people who piss him off, not constantly stumbling over his words and having to have other people finish what he is saying, more independent (and kind of a loner) and less dependent and not so reliant an others (tbf MCU and some other spider medias have issues, imo, showing these parts of Peter too), actually having to try to be good and a better version of himself, I don't think he is portrayed as smart as he could be, but that is more subjective (and again, some other Spider-Man mediums do have, imo, issues with dumbing down/downplaying this part of Peter. Not just this show, and this show doesn't do it the worst even, and in some ways, I do think they do this part well) etc. This Spider-Man is just currently missing a lot of stuff that I think makes Spider-Man himself and makes him interesting and complex. I am still hoping they improve Peter's/his character in the future. And that the issues I have with how he is portrayed currently are fixed in the future. But currently, I wouldn't really say this show gets Spider-Man's/Peter's character itself very well. And I am not really sure how fond I am of how this show is handling Uncle Ben so far.
