Really interesting video! I bought my self a Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX4070 a couple days ago and couldn't be happier, it's extremely power efficient. My second option was the 4060ti(however the 16gb version). I guess the major selling point for the RTX4060ti is the DLSS 3 feature despite it's only 15% faster than the 3060ti; which for sure surprised me with its performance. Hey so I’m new to computers why does the 4060 ti outperform the 3080 on some games but then drops dramatically and gets over ram by the 3080 any ideas?
4060ti is a rt focused card that's why it performs better when raytracing is on but only in 1080p and sometimes 1440p (it's not a 4k card) 3080 is a 4k card and that extra 2gb of vram is helping it to keep ur game optimized
@@Makakikishkvram is faster, and better millisecond performance because it's right onboard the graphics card I believe. The bad thing about the 4060 to is it's 128 bit memory bus. The good thing is that this gpu has a greatly enhanced memory system, it has a much larger cache for the ram than the 3080.
It is also due to some games not supporting dlss 3 yet. You can see at the top throughout the reviews when it says dlss 3/2 meaning the 4060 ti is using the new dlss 3 while the 3080 is using dlss 2 technology, and when it only says 2, then when it’s at native with no dlss on.
@@BZHAR12 No, 3080 is better at ray tracing too. But in this video every time when it says dlss 3 4060ti is using frame generation. Which makes the picture quality worse with artificing and the game feels less responsive. Without frame generation 3080 beats the 4060ti at everything.
Hey, brother help me choose between 3080 vs 4060 ti (16gb) i will be playing on 1080p gaming with Ray Tracing and DLSS ON but i'm getting used 3080 at $360 and new 4060 ti (16gb) price in my country (India) is $540 so should i go for new 4060 ti (16gb) or for used 3080? Please help me.
I got a used 3080 for 430$ and use it for 1440p gaming. Couldnt be happier. I was planning on 4070, but way too expensive here. Just before you buy the card make sure its benchmark scores and temps are good. 3080 is a fabulous card for 1440p. You plan 1080 gaming, which would be a breeze for it.
What do you recommend the 4060 ti for 470 dollars or a 3080 for 520 dollars? (both are new) I want it to play everything in ultra and if possible to buy a 1440p or 4 k monitor in the future

@matta5112 well more power consumption means literally that. it consumes more power. the amount of money that you will pay at the end of the month on your electricity bill will be way higher. Also usually more power means more heat is getting created which leads to your setup having to transfer more heat out of the pc which also means more power consumption overall. At this point tho the fans spinning faster will contribute very little to the electricity bill correct me if im wrong
Facts are dlss3 is a massive, massive improvement..... Enough to make a previous top tier card lose to a base level card. Best enhancement jump since 1080ti
bro was hoping you could help I am thinking of getting the 4060ti, I play on 1080p max fps I am looking for is 150 and I only really play warzone. what you think?
A lot depends on the rest of the build, you'll get these results with a well tuned system on a 7800X3D, on other systems it can be 10-20% worse depending on the CPU. Up to 60 FPS the CPU doesn't really matter, but above 100fps you need a pretty powerful CPU. This can be partially circumvented through DLSS 3.
@@Brewwer 5700X its ok, but of course there may be situations when it will be slower, ideally I would sell the 5700X and buy the 5800X3D and I think it will be enough for a few years. But of course AM5 + 7800X3D + DDR5 will be maybe 10-20% faster. But I don't think such an investment is worth it for midrange GPUs. 7800X3D is a must for GPUs like 7900XTX, RTX 4080, RTX 4090
if you want to see graphics and play cyberpunk solo mode it's clear that rtx 3080 will win, most of the time offline games you play with graphics at maximum with everything the game has to offer, I could see that even with 8gb of the 4060ti even with a high boost thought it would stay at 40 to 45 fps natively, but it's clear that the lack of video memory is clear on the 4060ti
The card is designed for 1080p/1440p and handles really high FPS using Frame Generation. I did a detailed test of all settings incl. Path Tracing. You can take a look. ruclips.net/video/PpEM0eF6WKY/видео.html
1080p/low graphics, the 4060 ti outpreforms, but falls short at higher graphics and resolutions. Its fps better at 1080p then the 3080. 3080 out preforms at 4k and 1440p at fps.
I think its highly misleading to test with DLSS and the newer card has frame generation enabled while the other does not support it. These are fake fps that blow up the FPS number, but don't make the game feel more responsive.
Of course the 3080 is better. Depends on what price you can get it for. In my country they are extremely expensive as they are the last pieces. Somewhere between 600-800USD new. Of course it is possible to buy from a second hand store. If you get a good price for a 3080 then go for a 3080. Otherwise I would recommend more like 4070.
@santiagomedinagonzalez2530 used 3080. Used parts are good, a new 4060ti could give more life, but it doesn't matter compared to performance to life ratio
Ok so I'm at a dilemma here, next week I have a chance to get a new gpu, upgrading from a gtx1070. Here are my options, I can buy an rtx 4060ti at roughly $480 here with some money to spare which also allows me to get 32gb ram and a 2tb ssd. 2nd option, I can get a used rtx 3080 10gb from a friend for $450 but I will need a new case for it and/or new psu. (my current psu is a 750w fsp hydro g gold) So which option should I go?
Well, that's a really tough question. If it was just about the GPU, the 3080 would be a more practical choice and cheaper. But as you write the other stuff I don't know what to advise either. I'd start with what resolution you're playing at. From that I'd go with the 4060Ti, 1080p is fine, but for 1440p I'd be more likely to go with the 3080.
@@lakyfx some of the folks I talked to said to don't pass up on the 3080 but if I do that, I won't be able to afford the new ram and ssd. it will instead force me to get a new case and psu. At $180 I could get the 32gb ram plus 2tb ssd, or a new case and psu at the same price... ARGH MY HEAD!!!!. They also mentioned that I could just stick with my 16gb ram for now, and my 750w psu since my cpu is just an i5 11400. BUT I STILL DON't KNOW T_T
@@blackmary I understand you, but you didn't answer what resolution you're playing at. That's crucial. But it's simple if you want a new SSD + RAM so it will definitely help in new games, 16GB for new games 2023+ is not enough. If you don't want to buy a new case + PSU then get the 4060 Ti, you won't get in any trouble. It's just a point of view. For games where it supports you DLSS 3 + FG can overcome the bottleneck CPU at the cost of slightly higher imputlag, which I personally am perfectly fine with and don't have a problem with. But someone else will tell you it's nonsense. It's the truth that's hard. If you're going to have a VRAM problem just lower the game details from Ultra to High, you won't notice it on the game quality but you'll save quite a bit of VRAM and FPS will go up. If you're ok with that then you can buy a 4060 Ti. At 1080p you won't have any problems, at 1440p in some cases you'll have to go down slightly with the details. But nothing worse will happen :).
@@lakyfx Oh right sorry about that, I have been gaming at 1440p back in the day during the golden days of the pascal era, then went down to 1080p as time passes by, I just wanted to go game again at 1440p. I can totally see your point here, I'm now more and more convinced on getting the 4060ti. THank you very much, I'm gonna let it sit for a while until I'm on the actual shop then contemplate again hahahahaha.... again thank you very much for your time and this awesome video that torn my sould into two! I guess I'll report back on Tuesday! :D
@@blackmary You're welcome bro, be sure to let me know how satisfied you are or not :). But I believe after my own experience there's not going to be much hate towards the 4060 Ti although it has its faults hate I don't think it deserves.
Yes once there is a lack of VRAM in most games there will be a fatal problem. Some games are well prepared for this like the new CoD, Warzone 2 can handle it very well, but for most games it is a fatal problem that the game engine can't solve. All it needs is 300MB-500MB missing and it's unusable. On the other hand, just reduce the details from Ultra to High and space is freed up.
Stop faking this benchmarks, how in the hell a 4060 ti that can barely keep up with 3060 ti go neck on neck with the 3080 wich is like 40-50% faster then 3060 ti, this benchmark here i call it fake!
Hi it's funny, in the benchmark you have clearly described the settings under what conditions it is, I understand that you obviously don't understand HW and I'm happy to make it up for you, but if I don't understand something, I don't know it so I don't call it fake, it looks rather silly. Of course using DLSS 3 and Frame generation can be faster. There is nothing strange about it.
Yes we know that, native rasterization is 5-10% better than 3060 Ti. Native rasterization is part of the test, on the contrary you see both variants and that's good.
@@nikitaloginov7291 Yes, I understand. It's okay. I'll repeat myself as with another video you must always take into consideration that different countries in the world have different prices. In my country the new 3080 costs 830usd, 3060 Ti 440usd and 4060 Ti 460usd. Look at the power consumption, it's so low on the 4060 Ti I have to laugh. The price of electricity has gone up 300% here and in the whole EU. I used to pay 250usd a month for electricity for my family house, now I pay 800-850usd. The combination of AMD CPU 7XXX + RTX 40XX seems to be very efficient and saves 100+ USD for electricity per year. Solar + battery electricity is now a hit in the EU, I currently produce 90% of my consumption from the sun last month. Efficient HW makes a lot of sense in certain parts of the world, especially less heat produced and I don't have to use the air conditioning to play in summer :).

@@warlockboyburns In normal usage, without needing to go into any sort of low power mode, my 3080 right now after just closing a game and having youtube open uses 20 watts. This is normal behaviour for all 3080s.

who the hell is playing in 1080p with this kind of game nowadays? seriously? 1440p and up will be the choice. so for short 3080 will win in this competition.
If you want 4K then you need to get 3080. 128bit bus kills 4050TI.... A true 4060TI would have at least a 192 bit bus kind of like ...... a "4070"......

What do you think about this? I want to use the vga for rendering lumion. Which is the best between them? I hope u answer me fast
Did you use dlss 3 for 4060 ti in this compare ? for just dlss 2 for both ?
DLSS 2 for the 3080 and DLSS 3 for the 4060 ( if it’s available on the game)
if you want to see graphics and play cyberpunk solo mode it's clear that rtx 3080 will win, most of the time offline games you play with graphics at maximum with everything the game has to offer, I could see that even with 8gb of the 4060ti even with a high boost thought it would stay at 40 to 45 fps natively, but it's clear that the lack of video memory is clear on the 4060ti
The card is designed for 1080p/1440p and handles really high FPS using Frame Generation. I did a detailed test of all settings incl. Path Tracing. You can take a look. ruclips.net/video/PpEM0eF6WKY/видео.html
Actually in the video you can clearly see that up to 1440p the 4060TI is superior to the 3080 and i am not even sure he had the FG activated.
thank you
What is better to cs 2?Rtx 3080 or 4060 ti?

Don't even bother to buy 4060ti if you are planning to play in 4k. That card is advertise for 1080p.

1080p/low graphics, the 4060 ti outpreforms, but falls short at higher graphics and resolutions. Its fps better at 1080p then the 3080. 3080 out preforms at 4k and 1440p at fps.
big problem with 3080ti is the massive power consumption too.
I think its highly misleading to test with DLSS and the newer card has frame generation enabled while the other does not support it.
These are fake fps that blow up the FPS number, but don't make the game feel more responsive.
Yeah, and picture quality with dlss 3 frame gen looks ass. That's why most people don't use frame gen
bro do i go 4060 ti or 3080
Of course the 3080 is better. Depends on what price you can get it for. In my country they are extremely expensive as they are the last pieces. Somewhere between 600-800USD new. Of course it is possible to buy from a second hand store. If you get a good price for a 3080 then go for a 3080. Otherwise I would recommend more like 4070.

Resizible bar + 4060 Ti 👍
well 3080 also supports it so what is your point
You can just buy the 16 gb version and it wont lag at any game
Ok so I'm at a dilemma here, next week I have a chance to get a new gpu, upgrading from a gtx1070.
Here are my options, I can buy an rtx 4060ti at roughly $480 here with some money to spare which also allows me to get 32gb ram and a 2tb ssd.
2nd option, I can get a used rtx 3080 10gb from a friend for $450 but I will need a new case for it and/or new psu. (my current psu is a 750w fsp hydro g gold)
So which option should I go?

В 4к 4060 берёт за щеку как не в себя😂толи ещё будет,на ведьмаке видно что ждёт 4060 через год когда выйдет много нового, в том числе и 5000 серия!

@@lakyfx im prefer 3080 because 10gb of vram and better native performance
