It was fun to make a "shortie". The high winds made for interesting drone flying. Lesson from the experience is that when flying in high winds point the camera out and not strongly down - giving the gimbal a better chance of success. Sorry went all technical there. Glad you liked it!

Yes, a nice wee bit of Scottish history. I hope that the weather was kinder to you than it has been up here on the north west coast. that wonderful onomatopoeic word "dreich" says it all.. By the way, it looks like the coop has a distinct list to port!
It was very windy but thankfully the rain held off. You are right about the lean towards the river - several degrees off vertical!

I would agree Rob. We liked the look of the cottage and figures that we had never visited the area before which was reason enough to visit.
i wonder if any of those boulders causing ripples in the flow are anything to do with either of the fish weirs?
You are right - they are part of the structure but the thinking is that they were part of a fish ladder.
Doesn't tell the entire story though, perhaps he insisted on stone foundations, but they ignored him and used wooden piles, worth a deeper dive sometime
I admit that I took the story from the guide book in the house. The problens came in the icy run off period when ice build up behind and dam and eventually its weight broke it.
