That black tray (starting 3:30) is a royal pain to get back in, as evidenced by the fact that the person in the video struggled for over 2 minutes. I found that if you connect the fan cable but leave the fan sitting there and able to move, you can fit the tray quite easily and *then* screw in the fan.
Yes, Old vid. This guy is using the wrong size tip on the screwdriver that is why you can hear pops as he is tightening the screws and you can see the fan is still loose. He also did NOT seat the screws in the threads. You do that by slightly pushing down and turn the screw backwards (out direction) until you hear a slight pop and feel the screw drop down a little bit. Doing it the way he does you end up cutting new threads, partially stripping out the hole and causing metal shavings from cutting new threads to drop down into the unit. Don't do this at home kids! TOTAL hatchet job!!!!!!!!!
So what do you have to say about this fan? I have heard everything from it is louder an pushes less air than the stock fan to it will save your console. The reviews are so mixed I hesitate strongly, but if enough people can actually tell me some stats or at least an opinion I would be grateful.
Caulin Dooley I'm sure if you bought a Digital laser photo tachometer, I'm sure you could test the two, and determine for yourself which one is faster. It's like $15 for the Digital laser photo tachometer, and like $20 for the fan. So for $35 plus S&H you could do a video on it, and tell everyone what's what. Then I guess you'd know for sure. If it spins faster, I'm gonna take an educated guess and say the one that spins faster pushes more air, thus cools the XBOX360 better. According to Amazon comments, it moves more air then the stock OEM fan.
Agent 72849 Only $15 for a tachometer, well shit down my ass I will test it myself! I think my brother has a camera I can use, so as soon as I get about fifty spare bucks I'll get on it. Don't get too antsy though, it'll be a while before I can scrape that up.

could have been much better if you would SPEAK as you work and turn on and SHOW end result.
you are the real deal ... i appreciate this video ... these things don't always go as smoothly as people might think ...
You remind me of how to basic, tutorial video(s) without talking xD I love it
Yes, the Whisper Slim fan is more efficient & slightly quieter than the stock one.

What size are the leds? Is it possible to buy white LEDS and install those?
You forgot to put a heatsink on the southbridge and HANA chips

is there any difference's in temps using this new fan cooler??
I installed the fan but than I get a red light from my Xbox ?
I see where the struggle will be, so the unedit is worth the warning.
What type of screw driver do I need?
Is that fan batter than the OEM one
Dude, first you need to install the HDD holder, than the fan.
No it's not, it just voids the warranty.
How do you change the fan speed?
Why didn’t you plug it in?
