There is a channel called Dimple which has people from North Korea that has managed to escape like ex soldiers. They are shown US military weapons and are always astounded what we have. It quite tragic that even their own military is kept in the dark about things we have. Great channel to watch and see the insight they go through everyday when they lived there.

The classic definition of a superpower requires the ability to fight anywhere, incl. 2 wars in 2 theaters simultaneously. Even disregarding U.S. bases around the world, the U.S. operates huge air & naval fleets (incl. transport); China & Russia don't. As in WW2, the fight can't be taken to the U.S. homeland; the destruction occurs outside the U.S.

I think allot of the tactics also have to do with battlefield experience. I think it's awesome that the British military comes and learns from us and we learn from you. That's awesome! But America has been fighting in a total of 226 years. North Korea as a military is at around 73 years. So even if they are learning tactics from other countries it still can't stack up against the just sheer amount of battlefield experience the US military has.

Funny thing is I've been watching a few videos from another channel called Dimple. They have North Korean defectors interviewed on it, especially former North Korean military personnel. They do reactions like this to different things and it's funny to see their take on it all. It's very much like ours but they have the insider knowledge.
Like there's one with the US cargo aircraft listed off and the former NKAF pilot even said, "We didn't have such vehicles. Lifting X tons?!? Even if it's just fresh water up a mountain. . . that'd be amazing." Then he was shown the Globemaster III and said, "Is that a monster?" But NK's lack of resources has resulted in them using as much weird alternative training as they can fit.
Their lack of paved roads and spare parts would slow their tanks down and definitely slow down their rocket artillery, so that's even less of a factor. Last bit, I'm not sure how dumb Un is, but nuking South Korea is by far the dumbest thing he's ever threatened. He does know about meteorological patterns, right? The Pacific current is both in the ocean and in the air so warm winds from the equator (AKA South Korea-ward for him) blow UP TOWARDS NORTH KOREA!!!! Carrying all nuclear fallout back onto Pyongyang. But hey, I'm all down for letting this moron to go stick fork into an electrical transformer just to satiate his curiosity.

For Mine laying, it's actually in USs favor because the US Developed a kit that attaches to a 500lbs or 2000lbs bomb like a jdam that allows it to be used as a mine. B-52 can carry these and drop them around 40miles away from the target zon and they glide to the water. Essentially one B-52 can drop somthing like 40 mines at once.

In Vietnam, the United States and South Vietnam also dominated, despite the fact that they were on the defensive. And defending is always easier than attacking. But for some reason they still lost with total air superiority. In the real world, things are not as simple as in animation. We must also not forget about China, which is the guarantor of North Korea's independence. So if the United States decides to attack North Korea, it will also have to deal with the Chinese army. Russia is also an ally of China, which will not stand aside, which will lead to World War III. This will all flare up in a chain and nothing will remain of the world except ashes. Everyone will lose!

Also 1 more Ohio Class hull that was never completed and has since been used for "engineering", but could be completed within 6-8 months if needed. Then add to that the new Columbia class (Ohio Class replacement) that is starting construction. Overall their info is pretty good, just needs a refresh.

Ground forces matter because any attack either by North Korea moving south into South Korea or by forces moving north into North Korea would have to deal with protracted ground battles. The US owned the skies for the most part in the Korean War as well, but the terrain and tenacity of the North's forces as well as the strategic goals of defending the South as the primary goal of the war meant that ground campaigns did not push much further than the DMC for any length of time.

One thing to say on the North Korean personnel is that North Korea spends its money on technology and nuclear weapons whereas the basics such as training rations sometimes go amiss. I think I saw a statistic on a video 4 years ago that said something like 1 in 5 North Korean soldiers will suffer from a lack of food or food poisoning sickness in their service so North Korea may have 1.28 million service members but the US service members are actually cared for a lot more the in North Korea and they would only have about 900,000 combat effective troops.

I think the most important thing is supply, especially without allies involved. The US can keep their forces well supplied in fuel, munitions, and food especially. North Korea heavily relies on food imports and they're still a starving nation. You can't fight on an empty stomach. North Korea would be forced to ration food to the civilian population even further which would definitely spark revolt. It doesn't matter how "brainwashed" the civilian population is. Once the food is completely gone it'll become a free-for-all.

  • @caseyhoffmantheirishhoff7083

Get well wishes from Massachusetts USA!!!! I think North Koreas personel numbers are pumped up because they force service and count civilians into conscription so they count them as well. I think, if it ever comes down to an actual conflict, North Korea would need a whole lot of help against us. There are no countries that I can think of that actually want to fight us. Maybe China, Russia, and the UK could but still don't want to. Those 3 I say because of size and training. All that I said with respect to all because anyone that chooses to serve their respective countries with honor and courage deserve respect and support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all that serve!! Especially the U.S. and our allies!

Tactics ain't easily measurable so I would guess that is why it wasn't included in this video.

I don't agree about NK subs being deadly on shores because sonar could detect their diesel engines, exposing them and US could just launch depth charges against the subs

Washington, Idaho and Minnesota. Three ridiculously beautiful states that are different north to south and east to west, and if you hit Washington.....hit me up, I'll take you fishing.

so if they just teach their pilots to kamakazi should we just count their jets as air to air missiles instead?

Usually in wars the aircraft carriers are targeted first because of their long range usefulness.

If US is worried about the nukes i think theyll just send in spec ops to go deal with them first and then invade

Lol I just had a cold, mine has basically completely subsided... turns out my slav body wasn’t ready to wear a sleeveless coat in British “spring”, which for some reason is much colder than usual and I was a little too eager to use the coat, (probably got the cold because I had to wait still outside somewhere for 20 minutes and then spend 40 minutes outside... yep that’ll do it lol)
My own ramblings aside, I hope you get well soon!

Let’s also NOT forget, that NK doesn’t even give their soldiers bullet proof vests, and they pretty much starve them.
So really they would be quite weak and more or less defenseless on the ground, by themselves, that’s a huge advantage as well.
If you don’t take care of your soldiers, to fight the battle, that’s half the battle right there.

In 1990 before the start of the Gulf War, Iraq's military was ranked 4th in the world, and we know how quickly the U.S. decimated it.

I think the only reason north Korea had so many personal is because I think its mandatory (correct me if I'm wrong) that you have to do like 4 years military service or something like that.

Just to point out, Russia isn't exactly a big supporter of N Korea. China would be their closest ally, unless you include other countries that might be "friendly", like Iran. Another item they don't mention is the serious lack of support and logistics. Lots of tanks, planes, and ships aren't as impressive once you find out they don't have fuel or spare parts. The scariest threat would be their likely use of their nuclear weapons to avoid losing their power. You might see a rather substantial number of those who flee the country just for food and basic necessities, instead of fighting for N Korea. I believe their Navy forces are actually the best treated branch, while the others have to scrounge for food and any resources.

One thing you gotta remember though that North Korea has the homeground advantage and they have all their equipment at home compared to US which would have to transport them over the Pacific.
I also think that North Korea has done the same thing as Russia and focused more on ground to air missiles as a way to control the skies

•NK builds underground tunnels, we have bombs for that. •The only thing they have is their nuclear backpacks. •Their medics don't have the equipment or medicine. •Everyone of age in NK has to serve.
