I'm watching 18 hours later but I'd have suggested an old camera sound and match it with the tempo of the drums. The sound should come in full volume but faded almost all the way out as the drums takeover. Cool all around show and concept.

I think it would be cool to spend a bit more time with your collaborator, before asking them to get to work, talking about what aim/vibe you are going for. Even just to get to know them a bit better.
