Rugby league (the one you just watched) is more relative, for NFL fans. Also, I know you liked Cheslin (rugby union), for his dukes. You should check out Shaun Johnson (rugby league). Rugby isn't "like" football. It's Rugby. Rugby Union or Rugby League, two different sports either. Rules differences so far apart it completely changes the game , its flow and pace. Union being the most popular over the world. When it's about rugby, it's mostly about Union. Rugby and Football both come from the same principles and ancestor, but that's it. They got very far from each other at the end. They both have a lot in common though. Same as cats and dogs. Same ancestor, both walking on four legs, both close to the humans, both carnivorous, both predators but you can't say a cat is like a dog. (The fox in other hand being rugby LEAGUE...a mix of both....Counting in yards, using a number of attempts to create a play, called phases in fact, 5 in total + the clearing kick at the end, then offense-defense switching....Very different from Rugby Union.)

There's an even older form of rugby from medieval times still being played called Calcio Storico. It's a mix between bare knuckle mma, and rugby.
