Personally its because his lore and appearance doesn't really say anything about his fighting style. For example, Miguel works because his lore, design, and animation meshes well together. When you look at his appearance, you just know that the guy doesn't give a fuck. Then when you watch how he moves, he still doesn't give a fuck. Then you watch his story, now you know why he doesn't give a fuck.

I appreciate the dudes out there like you and Max who do the streaming of these events rather than simply attending live (even though in your case you were obviously still there to compete); it really is a great experience for the folks who can't attend personally to be able to watch live with others. There's definitely a place for these types of streams and I'm glad you recognize that as a creator.
These fights were straight out of movies I think we are finally seeing why Namco designed T8 the way they did. The reward for discipline and playing in frame in T7 made it look more like a turn based game instead of a fighting game. I can't wait for more tourneys
the contrast between watching the old gods and the new blood fight is so drastic knee vs arslan was slow and pokey farzeen vs ak was just pure rapid, but not mindless, aggression edit: i know ak and farzeen arent exactly new blood by definition, i just meant those who have adapted to the new game.
That Grand Finals was definitely the cream of the crop of the top 8 seeing AK finally break the 2nd place curse with his Shaheen (T7 outfit BTW). Congrats on his win! ✌️😁
Arsalan made it to the grand finals even tho he was struggling a bit at getting used to tekken 8 but crazy how he adjusted so fast just few months to arsalan and knee and they would be back on track
@@Frizzy125 i think Arslan has not quiet adapted to t8. He's still playing his old defensive Style and tries to win with Mindgames. That nothing Bad at all, don't get me wrong. But that's the reason why he's losing to the new Gen. The Shit on those old Tools and Beat him eventually with the new Tools. He is using the new Tools poorly - still is an outstanding Player No doubt about it, tho (I do get that Tekken on the highest lvl is won by Mindgames, opponent conditioning and 50:50s)

I watched the AK-Farzeen set live but watching it again made me realize that this may very well be my favorite set of TEKKEN 8 (so far 👀)...the back-and-forth of how close it was made it so hype and the non-stop aggression really made it fun to watch and I think that's what the TEKKEN team was aiming for

i think part of the reason people like Knee struggle to get rid of the T7 instinct could be because of practice partners too. if everyone you play against still has those same instincts, you aren't pushed to adapt out of them

If you’re wondering the combo is at 30:30. I’m getting the hang of the d2 now. You need to delay it by a millisecond. Now I’ll go practice ws3 loops in isolation to then stitch it together later.
This combo is ridiculous. I’m nowhere close. Either I drop the d2 or the third ws3. Then after I still have to dash up and do the snk cancel fc df2 after the screw. It’s so hard.

Good analysis! Hard reads start to happen if you play each other to the point you know what they plan to do next. It be great if you can adapt to many peoples styles but it requires much patience.
Wanted to say this in the previous video but waited till it happened here, bear wr1+2 is very much steppable (like the rest of their kit apart from bf2, b1+2) and if someone starts stepping it bears have to take risks and play really unsafe to actually get anything started. Its not unsteppable at all.
One of my favorite matches was CuddleCore vs Knee. You could see Knee finally lock-in, but Cuddle was not making it easy! Some good ass Tekken right there!!!
this is EXACTLY what tekken needed. my due respect to arslan and the legacy he's building - but his games where uterly boring to watch. the new blood doing its stuff is so much more entertaining. Farzeen, AK even the random guys where making a hell of a show, so that i can love tekken tourneys again. i was on the edge of my seat when those two where playin. But AK used everything in shaheen arsenal and his slide .... you can not see it unless he does it intentionally to make you hesitate for a mix up. Farzeen and arslan match with AK is insane. Everytime at grand finals its been insane.

Peak Shaheen was played by Ahsan Ali in Pakistan's Baaz Gauntlet tournament. He came runner up but his Shaheen was far more aggressive and creative than AK. AK played a more solid and defensive Shaheen.
Not that we dont like Pakistani players. A lot of us just dont want a viktor to win. Shaheen was so fun to watch and im so glad he won it was well deserved

How come he broke that habitual pattern in this tournament? You tend to be quite analytical, but this time your fanboyness came in the way of that 🤭
Arslan also had problems adjusting, but has successfully adjusted in this game throughout the Top 8 itself. It was very impressive, and I mentioned that multiple times

The game is so aggressiv and fast, they should play only bo5 in top8. I think the games are to quick to play bo3. It would be way better for my opinion.
