Really appreciated how honest you were in terms of talking about being able to afford more luxury items due to increased income and not just solely because you want to be sustainable. A mistake I've seen many bloggers do, is when they get to a certain level, they start to solely buy luxury and say it's because they're trying to be "more sustainable" when not all Luxury fashion is sustainable. Your style has always been geared more to high end and your honesty just makes your transition seem more organic and natural.
I completely agree with the quality and price of high street fashion. I feel like it keeps getting worse overtime. It’s also so refreshing to see that you are so aware and acknowledging the fact that you are able to switch to more sustainable fashion. You have been very transparent from day one & that’s one of the reasons I look up to you so much & why you are doing so well! Excited to see some of the more sustainable brands/ pieces that you have to share with us! 🤍

I just love this video! I’m a norwegian «influencer» , and feel the same way! Its so much easier to grow and get higher engagement (and get more paid) when you promote fast fashion, but it doesnt feel right. Love every word you said because they’re sooo on point!🥰 LOVE your content and its super inspiring to see you’re thinking more sustainable!

Regarding fast fashion: I think it can be difficult to avoid fast fashion if you’re a creator, as even though people are more aware that it’s not sustainable, hauls are still wildly popular on social media. I started my channel in December and my videos about Zara get thousands of views. Yet my videos about styling might get 100 views. I don’t really want to do lots of hauls, but it’s very tempting to do that to get views and grow your channel. I’m resisting the temptation, but it’s hard to keep motivated sometimes, when you know a “Zara haul” will get 10 times more views than any other content I make.

Wow thats so crazy Zara hauls have that effect, I didn't realise this...but makes sense how a global retail giant could take power over what we see on platforms like youtube. I can see how tempting that must be for creators like yourself...they really are trying to drive the narrative so we keep consuming! Scary! @@FayeDe_Lanty i think it might be an eye-opener for people commenting on channels to discourage hauls to look at the channel’s videos and how many views a haul gets relative to other topics. The most viewed video on my channel (by FAR) is a Zara haul. I got a message from a viewer wanting to know where the outfit I was wearing in that video was from. When I told him/her it wasn’t recent but here is the small brand it was made by, they replied: “why are you wearing things I can’t buy?”
and then told me they were unsubscribing.
Hauls are unsustainable, but it’s what the people want. Creators would stop making them if people didn’t love them so much. It’s great Noorie wants to be more sustainable now, but as she said, her success began with multiple hauls from fast fashion brands to amass her following. Without hauls, she wouldn’t be where she is now. It makes you think!
@@LucyStokesOceansofNotions wow it’s sure making me think! I really feel for you creators in that world, it’s kinda like being backed into a corner in some ways… but I think as Noorie says it’s about balance and if the things that do come from fast fashion hauls are things you truly love and will wear then that’s a sustainable approach if they will be of use, loved and not discarded. At the end of the day sustainability has to be sustainable for you and your values x

Appreciate your comments about sustainability. I think the main goal for ppl shud be just to reduce shopping habits, this doesn’t necessarily mean not buying fast fashion because most ppl can’t afford to shop at pricey sustainable lines. I only buy clothes twice a year which I guess is rare for a 20 year old girl. Ppl can only do their best and ultimately the blame lies with the rich and corporations

Thank you for speaking to sustainability Noorie...especially in your position. To be transparent about influencing and how tempting financially fast fashion brands can be is really encouraging to see. The more we follow that feeling - 'this doesn't seem right' - the more the traditional fashion industry model will change. I am an eco stylist and work exclusively with mindful fashion whether that be brands, thrift, vintage, DIY, upcycled, preloved luxury or simply shopping your own closet...there is so much we can do with what's already in existence and you never ever have to sacrifice style. In fact shopping this way has been a personal style game changer for me. I think it's also important to remember that sustainability has to be sustainable for you...and really the journey to a more conscious closet is about progress not perfection. You're doing great taking the first steps and making the change...our individual acts always have a ripple effect. Sending love x ♻️.🍃🐢🌎
Fast fashion is an issue but many brands regardless of price point are at the point of 100% ethical or sustainable. And those that are aren't big fashion names that those in the space are paying attention to. It's okay to evolve. You've amassed a larger following which means more equity and income. For your hard work you get to enjoy it and attend shows where the invitees arent wearing mango or Zara and that's okay. So keep evolving and those of us that enjoy the content will follow regardless of we can afford to wear what you are and be inspired.
Thank you for sharing so openly and honestly your thoughts about fast fashion! I def feel we all as people need to interrogate our consumption habits - with fashion, skincare/makeup products etc and just think about how much we actually use/need!
I am deffo loving the vlogs so even if you do less hauls I’d still watch for lifestyle content :))

I like how transparent you were about the situation. Your style always gave me luxury vibes even when you shopped mainly high street so it makes sense you going into luxury. If doing high street hauls doesn't resonate with you anymore, don't do them. You'll find your true audience that way. I'm slowly trying to get more into luxury of course keeping mind of my financial status😂I'd love some videos on your favourite luxury brands / collective hauls!

Definitely agree with you about being more sustainable, I had a massive clear out of my wardrobe a few months ago and honestly it has been the best decision! I don’t struggle as much with “what to wear”, I now have good quality, classic pieces which, will last me a very long time. Another reason though as to why I follow you and love your channel ❤️

I live in Dublin and I am so sick of the storms. Within the space of 5 days, we had storm Eunice, followed by Dudley, and Franklin is hammering down outside while im watching this. I have to drive across Ireland tomorrow and im dreading it!

Completely agree with you about pricing and quality of high street fashion. Love that you're going in another direction even if it could cost you money or views. I'd love to see content on how to wear same piece different ways.
I followed because I love your style and the way you put outfits together! Even when you did hauls I liked that you styled the pieces and that just gave me inspiration on how to style similar pieces in my wardrobe. Also I really enjoyed your mango haul because that’s how I’ve been shopping more mindfully, at shops like mango, topshop, monki, sometimes H&M because that’s what I can afford. Either way ik I’ll love whatever content you put out 🥰❤️

I feel the exact same way as you do about fast fashion and investment pieces. I rather have one investment piece than 10 items i will only wear once or twice.
