Mr Dale, this is another favorite. as i have commented before, you are better then my old pianola and its rolls. i am really enjoying your music, there is so much passion and feeling in every note you play. please keep the music coming, Will (london)
Hi Allen Your style of playing is so individual and beautiful no wonder everybody loves watching and listening to you play, you are the BEST. Your Aussie fan Joy
Written by Jerome Kern and Otto Harbach in 1933, famously recorded by the Platters in 1958, and masterfully performed by RUclips maestro Allen Dale in 2009. Great!
God bless u Allen my grandfather was a musician before he passed and was a piano player I want to thank u for bringing me back to these great songs of their time thx Allen
Dear Allen, That is an excellent rendering of that song with the complexity and sublety only a great pianist can produce. You are a great keyboard artist. You make that song something really special. I am so motivated to continue my practice. You and your (Len's) piano are as if one. I am a devoted fan. Cheers, Peter p.s. Len, You consistanly do an excellent job as videographer producing the performance. The camera work and lighting are excellent. I like the train set on the piano.
Have not visited your channel for quite sometime. Am sad to hear about your retirement. Wish you luck and pray for your good health. Will not forget your channel and the joy you spread with your piano.
@frbjoernLA Thanks. This song's title is perhaps misunderstood by you. Smoke Gets in your Eyes is a song of lost love. Smojke gets in your eyes means that he is crying, but being a man, Men Don't cry;so... he said smoke got in his eyes rather than admit tears.
@allendale1962 Thanks for your explanation of this beautiful song. By the way. Do you play Galway Bay? If you do, please don't let me know, because Smoke would definitely get in my eyes, though I was born in Germany, I was raised in Ireland. Anyway, God bless you Allen Dale!
Well done Allen very nice, if you enjoy improvisation and like to listen to and would like to hear a different interpretation of this tune have a listen to mine, anyhow good luck and all the best to you.
One of my favorites. Thank you and pray you are making beautiful music in Heaven.

Thank God for you Allen Dale! Even though I don't smoke. I first heard this beautiful melody when I was a young boy in Ireland in the 1950's.

Your playing of the piano is exemplary. I am a classically trained accordionist and just came across yourself on RUclips. Brilliant!

Jerome Kern and Otto Harbach wrote this tune for the 1933 operetta "Roberta."
Of course, the Platters made it more famous.
Thank you, and God bless.
