Mark Farner is an incredible singer. What a talent! Loneliness is one of the better vocal performances of that era. Wow.

That's a good album. Didn't get a lot of airplay, but sometimes those end up being the best. You need to react to their song Sins A Good Man's Brother from the Closer to Home album. The title track is great also and was one of their more popular tunes.

Grand Funk early music was their best, listen to I’m Your Captain / Closer to Home

Love that you play deep cuts. Here's more GFR you would enjoy:
    Flight of the Phoenix-
    Freedom is for children-
    The Railroad-
    Paranoid-
    Gettin over you-
    Good and Evil-
You can't miss with most of their music

back in that time, GFRR was like the bad boy, critics hated them, were just simple musicians, but they Always sold out concerts wherever they went, the people decided....

I'll put their body of work---from 1969 to 1977--up against anyone's! Led Zeppelin, Rush, Aerosmith, Skynyrd. They have a fantastic legacy of great albums with superb musicianship!

First time I've heard that. I must say that was the most _ambitious_ thing I've now heard from them. I was a major, major GF fan over their 1st three albums (a Pure Garage Band sound) but was so unimpressed when I heard "We're An American Band" that I pretty much tuned out on them until the single "Bad Time" which I really liked. I've never heard anyone react to *Sin's A Good Man's Brother* off their Closer To Home album which I thought was their best song on that album. I became a fan of Rush when I heard Tom Sawyer, but SAGMB is actually fully better than Tom Saywer, IMO...

That album E Pluribus Funk has some really good songs on it. My favorites are Footstomping Music, Upsetter, No Lies and I Come Tumbling. Tumbling has some cool guitar playing in it. They have a lot of great deep cuts. Sins A Good Man's Brother is one of my favorite GFR tunes. I don't think I've ever heard anyone react to it either.

Talk about choosing the most obscure track. I was such a big fan, and had all of GFR's albums, yet I may have only played this track a few times. Best album by far was the red "Grand Funk" album. Anything, especially "Parinoid" off that. Avoid, at all cost anything after "We're and American Band" phase, which sucked.

Yes, WAAB was pure throwaway pop drivel. The “We Built This City” Starship type of sellout crap so many bands wound up doing.

Hello brother, I wonder if you'd consider doing a tribute song for the late great Jimmy Buffet. He passed away; I believe yesterday. According to the news of an unknown illness, He was 76 yrs. old. RIP: Jimmy Buffet 💔🔥🎸U R Missed
Jimmy Buffet was an American singer/songwriter, musician, author and businessman. He was best known for his music which often portrays an "Island escapism" lifestyle. It is also called "yacht rock" and has been deemed a genre of its own. His career spanned across five decades and he released more than 30 records 17 of which were Gold or Platinum. Here's a live performance, if interested. "Jimmy Buffet - Gulf Shores Benefit Concert - Margaritaville - 18" Thanks brother and I hope you have a great day~

We treat "the Earth" with Respect then Mother Earth will treat us in kind. We humans live on Earth, we are responsible for it's decline, due to our treating earth so disrespectful and destructive, yes we DO have a responsibility...we must listen...and pay attention to what is happening with climate change now, it's all over the world, the weather, the fires, hurricanes, the glaciers are melting so quickly now...Earth is out of balance and we still have time to contribute to saving it, for all mankind.. We must all learn to get along and love one another, the hatred and anger needs to go!! ENOUGH!!
