So if you have an off week and can’t run any higher level content, it’s still worth getting some low level keys cleared or getting a full run of LSR just so you can grab those tokens

The whole time rift event seems a real disappointment . The gear drop rate is so poor it can hardly be called a catch up mechanic. Unless you are an avid collector, it is almost not worth doing past the first couple of weeks.
Why not just have the ability to go to your bank and get gear, or from vendors . I am not a fan of getting gear every time I do something. There has to be some longevity to the game. You can't just have shit dropping every 5 mins

you do not need any crests for 424 exactly like kelani says and the upgrade crests drop from m+/ raiding. if you dont wanna do any endgame content 424 ilvl is enough for everything by miles.

@@juice7100They're talking about how if you are behind on sparks of shadowflame for crafting, they drop off of raid bosses and other stuff until you're caught up and rank 5 even with no enchanted crest is 424. The big miscalculation here is how important set bonuses are and the crafted pieces can't be used in the catalyst. So while you can get some random 424 gear really easily, if your class relies on the set bonus that's still the hurdle.
I was under the assumption that you can quickly get to 430 but it seems that the way to do that is still doing 8 mythics dungeons and hope for a vault rewards each week for like 8 weeks lol
I went the route of just doing LFR every week which you can upgrade to max 424 not 411. Then don't take anything from my vault except Token of Merit x6 almost every week to the point that you need more splinters instead. Token of Merit x6 give you 3 Wyrm Crests per week. Process at start of season -Do LFR every week -Take the Token of Merit option from Vault and use them on Wyrm Crests -Use Wyrm Crests to make Enchanted Wyrm Crests -Use Enchanted Wyrm Crests to make 437 gear(WARNING: Do not make gear that go in Tier Slots) -Once you have enough Wyrm Crests for each slot get some Splinters if needed Average Ilvl= 431 With 10.1.7 "IF" the Champion gear can be used for Tier gear -Convert Champion gear to Tier gear -Get Token of Merits x6 to get Wyrm Crests x3 but do not turn into Enchanted Wrym Crests -Use Wrym Crests on champion gear to get 437 Tier gear(should have some drake crests saved up by now) -Trinkets upgrade to 437 if able to get a Trinket or 2 Average Ilvl= 435+ For ones that don't have gold somehow -Do Dragon races -Recommend having a Alchemists for making Dracothyst and a Miner/Herb gatherer for materials for Dracothyst -Profession to help make materials needed for crafting gear(Plate= Blacksmithing, etc) -Just buy enchanting mats and silken gemdust for Enchanted Wrym Crests crafting
I like as you say wait for 10.1.7 to get fast ilvl 415 gear. Its the thing with all patches you get better gear easier . So we should wait for patch 10.3 or 11.0(new expansion) Its the real problem if youre only geared focus dont play the game cause your efforts to get gear are useless with the fast pace of patchs releases. So ill keep on lvling alts do fast catch up like time rift for this patch and dont play further difficult content cause next pagch every 2 months .
So basically, all of this is focus toward heavy raiding or PVP. I don’t have anything wrong with any of the previous that I’ve mentioned, but for me who is a casual player and quite ill most of the time I can’t devote time to raiding and I dont have the reaction time for PVP so my item level is sitting around 370 right now.

There anyway for Solo players? I gave up on Dungeons since M+, where it was mostly through raids and pvp but ever since season 1 seeing this. I was just seeing if there was a way for the gearing for just the adventure. IS there a method without bothering with the mess that's M+ related?

Then I went to the catalyst to find out that no, apparently 415 gear is not eligible because this specific piece was not of "this seasons" gear even though its following this seasons item level track, was from this season's quest and was awarded this season. I sent blizzard a suggestion letting them know exactly how I felt, and I assure you it was extremely polite. I not only told them where to go, but also where(i.e. what orifice) they could place their game into and what they should do with themselves instead of coming to work ever again.
Yeah, it isn't even the ilvl requirement for catalyst that's infuriating--it's the "item must come from one of these very limited sources" requirement. Even running M+ isn't all that helpful if your luck isn't good; seriously, two items per *dungeon* for five people? They built the system to encourage endless grinding, which is great for the players who do exactly that. For those who can't or don't want to spend all their free time slogging through the same handful of dungeons for a low chance at decent gear, it's just an encouragement to cancel the subscription and find another game.

You forget that previous raid, getting the Normal tier piece won't give you the LFR one, in fact you are now locked out from rolling it on LFR where its the only place you can get it...
You can put lower ilvl gear into the catalyst and convert it to the prior raid tier gear at no charge cost. And you can still do the trick to get both LFR and normal colors with those items.
Will I farm gear now, or wait for 10.1.7? I think it really depends on one key factor: will these new BoA 415 gear tokens be catalyst eligible? I honestly care more about transmog than ilvl when it comes to gear, so if these new tokens can be catalyzed and upgraded into Normal & Heroic Aberrus appearances like most other Champion track gear, count me IN.
I’m stuck at 424 and none of these mechanics help me. I need wyrm crests and can’t get into a dungeon group for the mega dungeon because of gate keepers wanting the flawless run. So they only want players with higher gear levels. I stopped playing the game for the first time since 2008. I don’t care about transmog, pets or mounts that I can’t use because of dragon riding. Other games have a more organic and natural way of gearing up that doesn’t punish the solo player and favor the world first cult.
Ive found Time Rifts to be pointless for attempting to gear up (more so since im not a collector either) ive done dozens of Rifts and ive only had the one Time Capsules and that was from the weekly :/ the tokens that guarantee loot dont work 100% either since all i get are Transmog items and even then its not guaranteed like it says on the tin... let down by that particular content :/

Just pointing out that this isn't "quickly." The fastest way to gear "quickly" is to head to the forbidden reach and farm rares to get to 395 super fast. Every other method here is very time consuming.
As a solo player for many many years. I see mythic only dungeons as a huge waste and loss for players who don’t have normal access to friends to play with.
Agree! I have played since 2006 and have never once been in a mythic dungeon and find that those who play high key mythics are elitist assholes that don’t bother to help out lower geared players.

Yeah don't expect to get any invites to DOI if you are below 430 and as for the rifts out of 5 or 6 I have done I got ONE item for exchange for gear.....in 6 hours I got one piece of gear...yeah no. The best way to gear up is still to run low M+ which drop 415 items.
Played since vanilla but started dragonflight two months ago. Its very confusing to see heroic raids required 245 ilevel when the raid drops a lower ilevel. I should not need to come here to understand the gear levelling system. Just scrap everything and have one time gated gear levelling system. The higher end raiders get more currency etc but even casual like me can still see clear progression and are not blocked from pugs due to being stuck at a lower ilevel
so if you use alts basically no easy way to gea up this patch, shame considering how fast the raid was over thought they might make it easy to gear in this patch for something to do
Honestly the Time Rift gear (outside of the trinkets) is completely useless and a waste of time. I have no idea why they decided to drag out the acquisition of 402 ( I know it can go to 424) gear when I can just go to ZC, fly around for a bit gathering whelpling fragments, craft a full set of 408 gear, do the questline for the enchanted stone and craft a good weapon and be in raid that day. You're also going to need Drake Fragments to upgrade the Time Rift gear anyways so you're already going to be doing content that rewards you with gear that's better so... Now if they scrapped that idiotic time capsule and made the gear purchasable from flakes then I'd bother with it but even then it would still be kinda meh.

it doesnt explain it correctly but u just put in your spark and the listed materials. if the crafter is maxxed out in the profession u get a 424 ilvl tem instead of the 389 it shows. u can increase it by putting in other items made out of the various crests u get ingame. the aspect crest ( the highest) gives u 447 ilvl gear which u can also let someone else craft but its costly.
ive camped these all day every hour and I have only 3 of those dam tokens.. terrible rng. Not worth it... even if u afk through all of them just to do the boss at the end.
Haven't watched the video yet but I can tell you it's super easy to gear up this season. I took a break before end of s1 and just started last week. Haven't done any of s2 campaign done heroic raid 2 times (raid this season is a joke) and did alot of m+ and I'm already at 439
The whole let's get to end game and gear quickly is the reason wow has the low subscriber numbers it has , I'm leveling a chr from scratch it's so easy no challenge what's so ever ,blizzard should just make everyone max level as soon as an expansion is released .
All of these are horrible options for gearing alts to be quite frank. The timerifts are an absolute flop. You are not guaranteed a 402 token item for the vendor on the last boss, and they are 1 hour wait times, and boxes you buy are a random item, so you can't even guarantee it's something you'd be able to use.
The best you can do as a solo player is only 424, unless you can get a crafted piece above that. I have several pieces of champion gear, but blizzard has us locked out of anything above 424 because of the crests. The solution is simple, give us a way to upgrade crests. I have no desire to suffer through running raids to get those crests. In my opinion blizzard has again made the casual content player suffer with no upgrade path except playing the group content. Because of this, I do not have a very high opinion of Dragonflight and rarely play now.

@@cekko09 mythic plus 11's. every 4 nets you the tokens to craft a 437. You can literally hit 437 the day you turn 70 if you have a good enough group to run with or your are a proficient tank or healer. Little harder as a dps though.
I watch these videos half way through and just turn them off. 20 years of WoW and this is the most I have ever felt about never playing that steaming rotten pile of carrion ever again. Did you know we got old scholo back and can farm T3 from Naxx as a result from a secret quest chain? New Evoker spec halfway thru an expansion? None of the stuff I just mentioned requires you to get churned gear or gear churn. Steaming rotten pile of carrion lulz bruh that better describes how you do research on anything. I’m on a high population realm in a guild with 900 toons and there is no one in the cavern most of the day. LFG is very empty as well.

That’s where I am on my main. I’ve got some catch up to do before I’ll ever be accepted into DoI. Currently at iLevel 412 I think.

Unless all of your gear is at a minimum of 441, I would actually recommend doing +17 keys instead of +16 as they drop Hero gear instead of Champion.
Fastest way to cathup for twinks is Aberrus LFR, because of the spark cath up mechanic i came out with the option to craft 5 pieces of 424 gear.

World quests grant item level 408 gear. So with minimal effort, you could easily be at a higher gear level.

You can use the Champion gear drops from ZC World bosses as well in the Catalyst

I keep trying to heroic level raid to level up my champion and hero Gear but they always remove me for doing 40k to 46k DPS when im a i lvl 428
Just pointing out that this isn't "quickly." The fastest way to gear "quickly" is to head to the forbidden reach and farm rares to get to 395 super fast. Every other method here is very time consuming.
well quickly is within 1 week, i got 430 (healer alt) in 1 week by doing all the things mentioned so it is fast.
That 0:25 killed me. Had me rollin.

As a solo player for many many years. I see mythic only dungeons as a huge waste and loss for players who don’t have normal access to friends to play with.
Agree! I have played since 2006 and have never once been in a mythic dungeon and find that those who play high key mythics are elitist assholes that don’t bother to help out lower geared players.

Yeah don't expect to get any invites to DOI if you are below 430 and as for the rifts out of 5 or 6 I have done I got ONE item for exchange for gear.....in 6 hours I got one piece of gear...yeah no. The best way to gear up is still to run low M+ which drop 415 items.
Played since vanilla but started dragonflight two months ago. Its very confusing to see heroic raids required 245 ilevel when the raid drops a lower ilevel. I should not need to come here to understand the gear levelling system. Just scrap everything and have one time gated gear levelling system. The higher end raiders get more currency etc but even casual like me can still see clear progression and are not blocked from pugs due to being stuck at a lower ilevel
so if you use alts basically no easy way to gea up this patch, shame considering how fast the raid was over thought they might make it easy to gear in this patch for something to do
Not quick or easy. Stop telling casuals to go raid as a solution for Bliz poor casual gearing path.
Honestly the Time Rift gear (outside of the trinkets) is completely useless and a waste of time. I have no idea why they decided to drag out the acquisition of 402 ( I know it can go to 424) gear when I can just go to ZC, fly around for a bit gathering whelpling fragments, craft a full set of 408 gear, do the questline for the enchanted stone and craft a good weapon and be in raid that day. You're also going to need Drake Fragments to upgrade the Time Rift gear anyways so you're already going to be doing content that rewards you with gear that's better so... Now if they scrapped that idiotic time capsule and made the gear purchasable from flakes then I'd bother with it but even then it would still be kinda meh.
I just came from Classic and holy fuck is this game stuffed full of different currencies, quests, etc... I'm so fucking overwhelmed I have no clue what I should be doing?
crafting is sooo confusing for me.. i feel very vunerable... i dont understand how to upgrade the item ilvl while filling out the crafting order... anyone on Stormrage want to help a guy out!?
it doesnt explain it correctly but u just put in your spark and the listed materials. if the crafter is maxxed out in the profession u get a 424 ilvl tem instead of the 389 it shows. u can increase it by putting in other items made out of the various crests u get ingame. the aspect crest ( the highest) gives u 447 ilvl gear which u can also let someone else craft but its costly.
I just want good gear to farm Antorus comfortably.

ive camped these all day every hour and I have only 3 of those dam tokens.. terrible rng. Not worth it... even if u afk through all of them just to do the boss at the end.
Time rifts aren’t good for catch-up gear. Grind for nothing. Better off doing other activities.

Haven't watched the video yet but I can tell you it's super easy to gear up this season. I took a break before end of s1 and just started last week. Haven't done any of s2 campaign done heroic raid 2 times (raid this season is a joke) and did alot of m+ and I'm already at 439
Multiple quick gear guides say to do dawn of the infinite. Your out of your mind if you think you can do that. What a joke.
The whole let's get to end game and gear quickly is the reason wow has the low subscriber numbers it has , I'm leveling a chr from scratch it's so easy no challenge what's so ever ,blizzard should just make everyone max level as soon as an expansion is released .
More currency, more rep blah. They need to award more flight stones and take the cap away
All of these are horrible options for gearing alts to be quite frank.
The timerifts are an absolute flop. You are not guaranteed a 402 token item for the vendor on the last boss, and they are 1 hour wait times, and boxes you buy are a random item, so you can't even guarantee it's something you'd be able to use.
The best you can do as a solo player is only 424, unless you can get a crafted piece above that. I have several pieces of champion gear, but blizzard has us locked out of anything above 424 because of the crests. The solution is simple, give us a way to upgrade crests. I have no desire to suffer through running raids to get those crests.
In my opinion blizzard has again made the casual content player suffer with no upgrade path except playing the group content. Because of this, I do not have a very high opinion of Dragonflight and rarely play now.
So you're surprised that an mmo... locks it's best gear... behind group activities?? Like yeah it's unfortunate that you cant socialize eith people but what do you expect, wow is not a single player game you're litterally not participating in the content that gear is for anyway so like. The difference between the ilvl of open world casuals and active raiders is literally the lowest it's ever been.

@@SolaireOAstoraNot playing and not paying subscriptions is what casuals like me are doing. And you wonder why Wows numbers have dropped? Why would I ever want to play in a group with a person with an attitude like yours? Blizzard can easily provide upgrade paths for players of all content types.

Love the content but this one was is a little too easy to just shorten to 30 seconds or less.

@@cekko09 mythic plus 11's. every 4 nets you the tokens to craft a 437. You can literally hit 437 the day you turn 70 if you have a good enough group to run with or your are a proficient tank or healer. Little harder as a dps though.

I watch these videos half way through and just turn them off. 20 years of WoW and this is the most I have ever felt about never playing that steaming rotten pile of carrion ever again. It's never anything new, just sh1tty gear churn. Is this really the best anyone can come up with? There's more currencies in that damn game than the Foreign Exchange.
Gear churn? Did you even look at the vendor stuff you can buy from time rifts? Do you even know about the whelpling daycare quests? Did you know we got old scholo back and can farm T3 from Naxx as a result from a secret quest chain? New Evoker spec halfway thru an expansion? None of the stuff I just mentioned requires you to get churned gear or gear churn. Steaming rotten pile of carrion lulz bruh that better describes how you do research on anything. An MMO is about acquiring gear and power.
