I've always said that Eivor is the love child of Kate Bush and Annie Lennox. Her voice and manner of singing is so much like Kate's, and she does very interesting music videos like Kate did. Eivor does an incredible cover of Kate's Hounds of Love along with an amazing video too if you haven't checked it out yet. Love Running Up That Hill. It's been at the top of the charts three times in three different decades, in 1985 when it was released, in 2012 when it was played at the London Olympic ceremonies, and again in the last few years as you mentioned when it was on Stranger Things. You mentioned Vikings, did you know Eivor does all the vocals for the soundtrack of the Netflix series The Last Kingdom which is about Vikings and the five tribes that formed England? For me personally, other interesting versions of this song include those by Anneke van Giersbergen, 'Rage of Light' in their version, and the metal version of it featuring Mastodon, Emma Ruth Rundle, YOB, and Old Man Gloom. The Kate Bush version that you had isn't actually a live version but a lip synched version. There is however a truly live version video of it that also features David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) on guitar and is quite a bit 'harder' than the original. It was performed at the charity gig at the London Palladium and is available on RUclips. I think you might enjoy it. Thanks again.

I’m familiar with Kate Bush and enjoy her. This is my first time being exposed to Eivor and also enjoyed her performance here. I always like to see when music or a song gets multiple chances to shine, and get exposed to different generations ! The third incarnation of this song on Stranger Things is where another young artist heard this song and decided to cover it. That young artist is Allie Sherlock along with another young artist Jamal Corrie ( a past The Voice Contestant ). They do a beautiful, little more delicate duet version of “ Running Up That Hill” ! When you get a chance you should check it out, Allie released it about a year ago. Allie on guitar and vocals, and Jamal on keyboard and vocals, a beautiful cover of “ Running Up That Hill “ ! 🎤🎸🎼

I heard that song a little bit as I was passing through You know I love Allie and have done many of her covers on this channel! So it’s on the list for a “cover to cover” segment I have done at least 3 of Eivor on this channel My bride and I have a channel together called suesueandthewolfman on RUclips It’s a traditional reaction channel where we only react to one video and then comment on it. If you can, check it out as we do almost all Nordic and Scandinavian countries. We (I think) have done several Eivor songs. She’s great and truly different
