In this video we will see the 5 indispensable formulas in Excel: autosum, IF, SUMIF, Vlookup and text. These 5 formulas you have to know at least at a superficial level to be able to say that you know how to use Excel correctly.
We start by looking at the autosum, this is basically a simple way to do sums, or use the function = sum in Excel. We can apply the autosum from our toolbar just look for the button and voila, we have an autosum.
Then we will do conditional. The formula of =IF in Excel is essential because it allows us to let Excel make decisions for us. In the example, we will calculate the discount, if applicable for each of the data. We will see the structure of the function if in Excel, where we will know its 3 arguments: logical test, value if true, value if false. We will see how to apply these 3 arguments to the function if to obtain the result we want.
We will go to vlookup. This formula is the queen of Excel. vlookup, also known as vlookup or vlookup, is used to find a data in a table in Excel, based on a base datum. You can talk hours and hours and hours about vlookups. In this case we will know the 4 arguments, the lookup value, the table array, the col index num, and range lookup, where it allows us to know if the search will be approximate or exact.
We will continue with SUMIF. This formula is not as necessary as the previous ones. Although it had its moment of glory, it has been displaced by the pivot tables. SUMIF, also known as sumif, is used to make sums with criteria, or sums with conditionals. Let's see that this is the simplest formula of all its variants. Add yes, it can also lead to SUMIFS, AverageIF and Countif.
We will finish with the Text formula. This formula is useful mainly to convert dates to text. When we combine the text formula with "dddd" it gives us the name of the day, and when we combine it with "mmmm" it gives us the name of the month.
