This episode we get started fully in the Liurnia region, focused mostly on the south east portion. There's quite a bit covered but nothing of critical importance. We do make some progress on the fabled Grape Lady questline this episode however.
i did the deliver the letter to irenes father early and did not kill the guy to get the grape so i now pnly have one of them. can i find him somewhere else or did i miss the whole quest :d
You can find him later when he invades you. He ll drop the grape then.

Just finished the one he did for Demon's Souls and I'm here following along for things I've probably missed on my 1st playthrough of Elden Ring. Great content. Little thing that also many dont know, if you hold down on the Dpad it will take you to the first item you have equiped on your items bar, so if you equip your flask on the first slot, you can always quick switch to it instead of having to run by all the items before it and sometimes overshoot it.
I keep my flask in my bottom pouch slot like another elden ring U-tuber suggested so I can use it quickly & easily by pressing triangle+down arrow key to use my flask quickly without any fumbling accidentally using other stuff or overshooting it in the middle of the action, but your advice is still helpful because I keep my other 2 flask's in my item slot's & they aren't the only things I keep there but depending on what Im doing they are the most important things I keep in my item slot's so thanks.

@markcoutts1796 Yeah definitely. I like this tip cuz as I progress thru the game and keep adding items? Knowing that I can just hold d-pad down for a half second and know %100 that I'm then on my flask without having to look and scroll?? It's saved me a couple times. Plus now that I'm used to it? If say I wanna use my blue flask, I can hold down for a quick second, know I'm at my health flask, then tap down once more and now I know I'm on my FP flask without ever having to look anymore. It's just a nice easy way to reset ur items
Tip to spawn the ball bearing hunters (church of vows and warmaster shack): 1) teleport to grace 2) sit at grace and change to night 3) stand up 4) sit back down 5) stand up 6) walk into spawn area. He will be there.

Too bad i beat him cus i play by a saying “you aint no pussy” basically means if i fight ANY npc I have to beat them before progressing with that in mind i did 100% avoid rune bears for a while

Man, I have too say again. I'm having a blast with this walk-through. Never played a Souls game before, and really never got into that kind of game. But wanted to thank you for the videos because I would of been lost and knee deep. Can only imagine the preparation and time spent for us to enjoy this game. Outstanding job

Man anyone complaining about there not being a walkthough up/late needs to take a serious look at themselves, these walkthroughs are top notch quality and as cowboy pointed out(free) don't let the haters get you down. Keep up the awesome work.👍
For anyone wondering: Black flame blade has its uses. For one thing, you can cast it immediately following another action, no delay; so in a combo, you can throw it on and keep going. Second, the black flame is more chunk damage, rather than adding a little damage for a long time, so the short time is fine because it will do big damage. But, since black flame is percentage based, it performs horribly against regular mobs; so it's a niche boss use only. I can tell you though, it's the main reason I was able to beat final boss without summons, because they are already weak to it AND have a lot of hp.
So yeah, it's definitely not the greatest spell, and some playstyles won't get much from it all. It is not however, useless or trash; it's just that its intended use is very niche, but it HURTS when used right. You don't cast it like a normal spell btw, its best used in between actions, like I said above. Definitely needed to be a little longer, like 15-20 secs, but it's a cool concept at least
Thanks for clarifying. I didn't know about that. I guess that's why those spells are called Godslaying spells, because they're intended use is for enemies with large HP bars.

Same here. In fact, before I found this guide, I quit the game. It was too confusing, and the mechanics felt really weird. Ever since I found the guide, I’ve seen why everyone says this game is so good. Maybe I’ll pick up some more Souls games after I finish this one.
As always a great great part. I just wanted to mention that at the Night Cavalry boss you've done in the video, there's a scarab bug which if you kill it explodes and gives a somber smithing stone (I believe it was [2]), just for people who need them :)

Boc is a subtle tutorial NPC for players who are completely new to the game. He introduces you to illusions by being disguised as a tree, that NPCs can move between quest steps when after finding him he moves to the beastfolk cave, fetching quest items with his needle, advertises the tailoring feature, and finally by talking about the rebirth feature pushing the players to eventually find out about the respec feature, and he teaches you about regret when he dies if you grant his wish (an important mechanic). There are lots of ways to find out about these features without ever encountering Boc but his quest line covers them all.
Best guide on Elden ring by far… well best RUclipsr for any souls game. Watched them all from bloodborne, dark souls even salt and sanctuary! Easy to watch. Straight to the point. Great explanations and a all around nice guy.
Also to the people who say keep the map up longer…. Just pause the video! Cowboy is trying to squeeze as much content as possible into videos. Keeping the map up isn’t going to help😂
The polished professional aspect to the videos you produce are like none out there. Getting all the loot and finishing tasks in every area while following your videos makes my life so much easier and gives my balls a tingling feeling knowing I’m doing everything in the game and hopefully not missing much. Liurna is literally melting my brain it’s so confusing to explore blind , I have to come watch the walkthroughs afterwards to see what I’ve missed
@andrew-rn9ui just started my.first playthrough over xmas, just beaten godrick and am ready to explore beyond limgrave. But i totally agree, i wish there was some form of linear guidance, even if its just a questline at a time. I talk to an NPC, think "ooh thats interesting, what did they say exactly though", try to listen again and that information is lost forever! It kind of reminds me of playong pokemon when i was a kid. Just level up enough to beat the gym, explore, level up, beat gym, repeat. No real storyline, just never ending progression

Bell bearers can always get spawned if you do the following:
1. Rest and Pass time till nightfall, stand up.
2. Rest again and without selecting anything else, just stand up again. He will always be there.
If he kills you just repeat the above.

I rest til night, then fast travel to same location. Same concept but prolly takes longer for me
@@neodekaful Yes, the spawn happens if you reset the world while it is already night time. Fast travel resets the world as well.

For those following along - Cowboy is mostly correct on Black Flame. It’s outclassed by Lightning Spear most of the time. However, you do get value using it against bosses as it does percentage based damage. Higher enemy health pool = more damage. So don’t just dismiss is out of hand, you may get value out of it depending on your circumstances.
I found two of the bell bearing hunters on accident while following your walkthrough. Thanks for mentioning them. I asked about them last episode, but figured out a few things. The bell bearing hunters in order to spawn them you need to turn it to night, and then exit out of grace menu. After that you need to rest again to get him to spawn. If you die to them, it will be morning and you will need to do above steps again to spawn them. You mentioned the one in limgrave and the one at church of vows, but there is also one in Dragonbarrow area in the north of Caelid, at the location of an Isolated Merchant. Not sure if there are more, but killing them upgrades the twin husk shop. I killed the first two. Limgrave I killed normally, second I killed on horseback. The third one is even harder. Thanks again for the walkthrough. I have been watching it on a second character. It is a strange/ difficult boss, haven't seen much info on, prob cause of the strange way to spawn them.
And the fact that there’s 4 versions of him lol

@@trevorrichardson1977 lazy design imo. Same for all the other bosses with several variants for some reason. Wish they would have actually somewhat tried to make the bosses unique in their actions, the fights, and their appearances. Like they did in the Dark Souls series

Just look at the game without blinders and rose colored glasses on, it's easily the weakest of them all when it comes to interesting boss design, and fights. There are some legit videos all over RUclips that can better explain than me, why they are in fact, shit.

This walk through is a great help. By the way. I am not sure if some one else has mentioned this as it may come up in a later episode, but at the church of vows. If you do one shift to night at that grace, then enter the church. Then return to the grace and shift to night again. The boss there will spawn almost 100% of the time.
Hey Cowboy another Amazing walkthrough! I look forward to these after work every day. Right around where you fought the Nights Cavalry is there is one of those Dung Beetles that explodes when you kill it, it drops a “Somber Smithing Stone 2”.

There's another location to the area that was covered this episode, called Jarburg.
It's to the south of the bridge, connecting the two towers. You get there by jumping down some tombstones in the wall. It's a little village with mostly peaceful jars and some loot.
Might come up later in the walkthrough.

Thanks for all you do. Your previous guides helped make the souls games much more fun for me. Also coming back for a second playthrough of ER for the DLC and using this guide made me realise how much I missed.
Just wanted to note that the third interaction with Grape Lady is to the right of the bonfire that was visited at 13:25. He'll obviously get to that in a future episode though.

There is no "bonfire" in this game.
In order to get the invader at the church of vows. Talk to Turtleman. Then run back to grace, rest at it then back to church. He spawns in the center. With the Bloodfang. You can get 2 skill attacks as he spawns for 4 hits that will stagger him. Finish him with a reposte. If he lives. Use one more skill attack for the Meat Bell Bearing. Thanks again Cowboy. A+
Those floaty balloons can be shot or casted on and drop quite large runes for the area at the grace after you got the tree spear
I hope you see this and I hope you know that you’ve made Elden ring and every other dark souls games playable for the average gamer. Thank you for your hard work and dedication , I would never have gotten to enjoy this amazing game nor demon souls with out you and for that I applaud you

Pro tip, magic glintblade is broken for NPC invations...reason is, AI of those guys is programmed to dodge/roll when you cast so as soon as you cast magic glintblade they roll but the spell comes 1 sec later hitting everytime.

Grape Lady spawns again at the Gate Town Bridge in Liurnia right next to the grace asking for the 3rd grape.
The Grape lady has a spiritual significance.

@@Bleeper852 I just kept my distance and used the moonveil heavy ash but since I was a mage I started off with the rock throw first from a distance. And then moved in with the moonveil.

@@aionvibe. There are very few instances where you can do something that will make you lose out on an achievement, and they are usually tied to defeating a main story boss that changes the environment afterwards before picking up a legendary item in the area that changes.

The helm you get in the cliffbottom catacombs through a stonesword key is basically elden rings tinfoil hat.

The bell bearing hunter boss “mini boss” he activates if you pass time to night then fast travel back to the same grace. 100% every time this worked for me, only been tested on the one at warmasters shack knight bernahl, I learned this because I got my ass kicker many times & wanted to know how to spawn the boss again
I've encountered this with other invaders as well. Wait till night, then reactivate the way point and they will spawn.
Or just pass time twice
Or just immediately sit back down at the grace. That's the simplest way to advance time a small amount
About Bell Bearing Hunter: He does indeed spawns only at night at several places. To reliably trigger him, go to the location where he spawns, rest 'till night, and fast travel (or quit game and reload) to the same grace you're at. That way you'll reset the instance and let him spawn. He spawns near merchant shacks/camps. He's also parriable (requires 2 parries before you can riposte), just throwing it out there for all of you melee enjoyers.
2:56 for night time bosses near a site of grace. I found that you have to rest at the site of grace again after waiting till night time to spawn them

The mirror helm massively boosts magic/spell resistance which is useful for Raya Lucaria mage school

Work..family..I just don't get much time..I've had the game since it came out..thanks to you..I'm now on episide 14. I look forward to every chance I getbto play, thank you for taking the time to do these things.
To trigger the Meat Peddler Ball Bearing Hunter invader at the Church of Vows, just rest at the Grace next to the entrance and advance the time to nightfall, get up and then rest again & advance the time to nightfall one more time. Now enter the Church and you’ll notice that Miriel, the Pastor of Vows, is now missing. Walk towards the back of the Church where the big statue is and the Ball Bearing Hunter will materialise in front of it.
Pro Tip: If you’re having trouble with the Ball Bearing Hunter, turnaround & run away when he first materialises and let him chase you outside the Church, where he tries to hit you with his sword that he throws like a boomerang. Two can play that game! He’s anchored to the Church and won’t chase you very far from the entrance, so take advantage of this and pelt him at a safe distance from his throwing sword with arrows or bolts. It took about a dozen L2 strong attack arrow hits from my longbow to kill him and I didn’t even get a scratch 😄
Black Flame is actually super handy against any boss that has a fire weakness, it scales with Enemy Max HP and can deal a ton of damage in one cast. Also, your videos are ALWAYS flipping awesome! thank you for everything you do for the Souls community, you need an award, or at least some bomb ass cookies

On my second playthrough of the game, following your vid, I was gassing myself up thinking I hit all of the nooks and crannies in limgrave. But following your video, you know what I missed on my first run? A very obvious, well-lit room containing a painting in Stormveil castle 🤦♂️. What a complex game and what a thoughtful walkthrough. Oh talking about Arstist shacks you missed one in Limgrave. On the map, looking from the Murkwater Coast Grace, straight to the right of it in the middle of that green patch is another artist shack (and another grace iirc)

I saw the Grape Lady near the Gate Town Bridge Grace. I see her on your walkthrough as well, (on the left of screen in your video, paused at 15:36)not sure, so I didn't talk to her, even though we do have a third grape. Appreciate all of your walkthroughs Cowboy.
The Bellbearing Invader in the Curch of Vows might appear if you try to interact with the Statue to do a Confession. That happend to me at last.
Damn, farmed that gold guy for his shield for almost a full in game day. Got his armor 5 times, his helmet 3 times, his pants 3 times and his sword before it finally dropped.
You also get the spell Briars of sin from a dude next to him.
2024 bois: black flame is decent for boss melting you just have to know how to time ur casts to get sufficient damage the damage lingers so if u use any of the weapons shown that have extra bleed you get burst and damage over time. Idk abt black flame back on release but its good now I picked up this game this year and went for 100% on 3rd playthrough

Replaying this doing a dex build, the stagger changes to summons is nuts, Oleg is an absolute machine now!

FYI if you want to spawn the Bell Bearing Hunter (works on all of them AFAIK) you have to pass time until night, exit the grace menu, go back to the grace and rest again. Then they spawn 100% (tested on 2 of them).
Love how you say tips and some foreshadowing on weapons and different builds. Helps alot
for bell bearing hunter spawn, rest at grace, progress time to nightfall, get up from grace, sit back down and you should see the merchant gone at this point, when you get up and approach merchants location the hunter will spawn 👍🏻

100% trophies achievement
The Kaiden Sellsword Ashes can be fantastic in the right situations. He has a shoulder charge that can easily knock down low poise enemies. I used him exclusively in the first part of my game, and he basically solo'ed Rennala and didn't allow her to hardly cast anything, and she couldn't summon anything; he kept knocking her down every time she'd get up. I beat her easily because of him.

Man if it wasn’t for you I’d just be running around lost i follow your guides to the caves/castle and do them myself and then check back to see if I missed but these guides helped me so much man!! Never played a souls game!
