I made a 1/2 recipe about a month ago just to try it out. Today I made the full recipe! This stuff made my tub and shower shine, cleaned my mirrors like nobody’s business, and so I used it on my windows and to clean the black appliances I have! Yes, I’m a little obsessed with this! The scent is a bonus! I clean my church (the children’s area) and this is what I take now for the bathrooms, classrooms, handrails, glass doors! Thank you for sharing! 👌🏻🙌🏻🤩
I kept this one for "watch later" now is later and I'm going to do some spring cleaning!! Thank you as always!
You are so welcome!
I use this recipe and absolutely love it. Not only can you clean just about everything with it but, it seems so good!
YAY I am so glad you agree! It is the best!
Pro tip: mix your essential oils with just a bit of rubbing alcohol. A tablespoon or less should work. Then mix that with your water and vinegar. The alcohol with disperse the essential oils into the water.
Thank you for the suggestion!!
Great recipe!! 👏 I have been making my own all purpose cleaner for at least 8 years now. I use it on everything, even wood furniture. I have a couple of recipes, one with 99% isopropyl alcohol & the other with vinegar. I mostly use the rubbing alcohol. It works so much better than commercially made cleaners, it's super healthy & way less expensive!....
- 16oz amber glass spray bottle
- 1Tbsp Dawn dish detergent
- Approx 1/4 cup iso. alcohol or vinegar
- Essential Oils (Edens Garden) 25 drops Lemon & 25 drops Cinnamon... Sometimes I'll change it up with other oils
- Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled or filtered water & shake before each use.
Do you have to rinse this off? Or can you just leave it?
@@MateoG849 Hi Jenny! You wipe it down. Just use it like a multi-surface cleaner. I do spray it in the kitchen sink & let it stay in there until it washes away when I use the sink again. I also use it to hand wash dishes when needed.
Thank you so much for this recipe. I've been searching RUclips for a while for something like this, minus the soap. I can't wait to whip it up and give it a try for the first time. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I'm so glad!
I will be trying this.
I use this for glass cleaner. I use on guard and purify blend for multi-purpose sprays! Love doTERRA 🥰
Those are great oils for cleaning too!
Thank you girl!
You're so welcome!
I would recommend adding natural Castile soap and for multi purpose cleaner but no soap for the glass cleaner. The soap is extremely useful for cleaning and holding the dirt and oils in suspension
For the glass clean you can substitute soap with isopropyl alcohol as it does the same thing and doesnt leaves streaks
How much Castile soap would you recommend adding to the recipe from the video?
How long does this recipe keep for? Thanks!
Hey I'm ur new subscriber....loved ur effective cleaning tips....
From india
Thank you so much 😊
Hi Laura, I have recently started the switch from commercial cleaning products to home made. Your channel is a great source of information. Can I ask which Dr Bronner liquid soap would be a good all rounder to begin with. Thanks Laura. Best wishes from the UK 😊
I use Dr. Bronners unscented.
Thank You.This is one of the simplest and I have the ingredients and amber spray bottle on hand.
Interested to see how well it works on mirror, stainless fixture and windows.
Just made and cleaned a mirror and a small window with it.
No streaks, cleaned well and I can now ditch the windex.
I added lemon but also added a few drops of rosemary and lavender essential oils.
Love it❤
So
Vinegar
Water
Essential oil
Brilliant thanks
Yes! Thank you!
Hello! Thank you for sharing great tips! Can I use this solution to spray on dishes? I hate the smell of fish and eggs, and sometimes my plates smell if I don’t spray additionally to washing them (hand or dishwasher).
Yes
Loved the video can't wait to try out the homemade cleaner my mother, sister and I have a cleaning company and are interested in implementing a more natural way of cleaning. I was wondering could we use other essential oils or does it have to be a lemon oil for full effect. I know you did mention it I just wanted to see if we have other options for essential oils as well.
Look for " clean with me non toxic cleaner recipes " by Simply Living with Scandish Home RUclips channel. There are also safe cleaning methods that she teaches.
Laura, Do you have a video that mentions how to safely clean your diffuser? I am getting a sticky build up of oil in my hopper. Should I use this cleaner combo?
Yes I do! www.ouroilyhouse.com/my-favorite-blends-to-diffuse-and-how-to-clean-your-diffuser/
I used this with lemon or other citrus with lavender. I love the clean homey smell it makes together.
That sounds like a great combo!
Would bacteria grow even in a vinegar solution? Also, which is better for disinfecting cooking surfaces / countertops, this spray or your alcohol based spray? Thanks!
Hello Laura, Thanks for the video. I have a question: can I use red (grape) vinegar?
White vinegar is the best for cleaning!
Do you use any essential oils added in with your conditioner or shampoo ?
Hair looks very healthy and clean.
Recipe for 2 and 4 oz bottle to make a spray disinfectant
If clove oil is anti-viral & anti-fungal, do you think it would be a good stack with lemon oil in this cleaning spray? I still have some left over from a new batch of natural toothpaste I just made.
Yes it is! It would be great with lemon!
i can’t stand the smell of vinegar, i added quite a bit of the lemon oil but it still smells. do i just keep adding more oil until it doesn’t bother me or do you have another tip?
Hi I made this cleaning spray today my only question is how long is it good for? Does it have an expiration date after its made?
I use it until it runs out and I have never had any issues with it going bad, probably about a month.
I only have distilled vinegar available will that be effective or should I wait until I go out to get regular vinegar.
Yes that works!
Can I use this all purpose spray on my tile counter? It’s a Spanish tile (not white).
I do! While vinegar is safe to use on laminate, vinyl, porcelain, and ceramic tile, it is best to use it sparingly since the acid in the vinegar can dissolve the finish on your floor.
Hello. I’m new to essential oils. I just made this cleaner but the vinegar is so strong in smell. I used 25 drops of lemon, but it still has a strong vinegar smell, should I add more lemon oil?
Yes you can add more lemon! You can also dilute it further and do less vinegar and more water.
Hi there...Can one premix this cleaning solution to keep aside for continued use. If so how long would it last in a glass bottle.
Yes, that is what I do!
Ingredients Starts at 2:48
Have you got one for hair spray!?
I have hair serum recipe!
Thanks for video is this safe for toilets and sinks?
Yes, but don't use on natural stone due to the vinegar.
Can you add a bit of Castile soap to this or doesn’t it need it? If so how much? Thanks
I only use it like this.
So what is the cleaner for that
Most cleaners irritate my lungs and cause me to cough. Last week I switched over to a vinegar/water cleaner and it's been sooo much better. I'm sure my cats appreciate the lack over overwhelming chemicals as well.
Thanks for sharing!!
Did you use that mixture with essential oils? I have cats as well and I heard that essential oils especially lemon is not good for them.
@@joannefernandez2112 nope! Just soak orange peels in the vinegar for a week before mixing it.
FYI, vinegar infused with orange peels contains orange essential oil.
Or will the vinegar be too harsh ?
Hi what type of vinegar did you use because vinegar has a bad smell?
Regular white vinegar
Can it be used to clean all type of furniture ?
I don't use it on wood. For wood I use 1/4 cup olive oil and 10 drops of wild orange. Works great!
Hi Laura! Great video, Can this be used on granite countertops?
Thank you so much! I have read that vinegar is to acidic for granite and that you shouldn't use it on it. I am working on a recipe for natural stone!
I am interested about this too! We have quart countertops which I am assuming the vinegar would have the same affect as on granite
What percentage of white vinegar?
We have a local Russian store in my town and they sell 6% 10% and 70% so not sure which one would be good to use?
I do half and half water and vinegar.
You mean diluted to 6% acidity? If so, I recommend the 5% acidity, if they have it.
Nikki Schott I have never seen percentage on our vinegar here in Canada
Natalie Russ you can get cleaning vinegar at Canadian tire, I believe 5%. It's in the aisle with the pickling equipment.
I use 7% white cleaner vinegar for strong lime deposits in the bathroom taps, glass, plastic and metal material and never harmed any surface at all.
White distilled vinegar is what you use?
Yes!
Can you use an actual lemon juice like natural lemon juice
Yes
Can I add baking soda instead of vinegar ?
I have a recipe without vinegar too! ruclips.net/video/CgiJPO0xZkI/видео.html
I have 2 questions. So one thing that I don't understand is how can bacteria grown in it when the EO's suppose to kill bacteria?? Second question I hate the smell of vinegar and I don't have Castile soap right now-is there anything else I could use, or would just using only EO's would work on their own? Thanks! :-)
Lemon and water works great for a cleaner! Sometimes I use straight lemon, I like adding the vinegar to stretch it further.
@@ouroilyhouse How many drops of EO (on average) per ounce of water should I use?
Hey just a heads up I subscribed for the recipe and label email but nothing ever came in my email!
It probably went to spam or different folder. Email me at laura@ouroilyhouse.com and I'll send you the direct link. 😊
If I already have a super large bottle of Bragg's apple cider vinegar, can I use that instead of the white vinegar? I'm thinking no, but figured I'd ask anyway.
Actually yes you can! ACV works well for cleaning too, however I prefer white vinegar!
Can u add the recipes in the bio to your videos?
Yes. They are also all on my blog!
But vinegar shud not be used on stone countertops
I have a video for a granite safe spray!
Distilled white vinegar?
Yes
Would you use this all-purpose cleaner recipe or the granite cleaner recipe to clean stainless steel surfaces?
I have a different recipe for granite without vinegar: www.ouroilyhouse.com/homemade-granite-countertop-cleaner-easy-recipe/
The problem is vinegar is not good on granite it'll eat the granite
You say that essential oils can break down plastic and pull some of its toxins out but the spray bottles tube is still made out of plastic.
It has never been an issue, I have had these same bottles for 5 years
Why do you talk so much. Damn. Just give the recipe and be done. I don’t want to wait a million years before you “reveal” the two ingredients!!!
