  • Fishing springs all kinds of surprises. That was certainly the case today. A couple of hours on the water at North Pine Dam resulted in the freshwater trifecta for me. A saratoga, an Australian bass and a golden perch caught in a single session.

      Thanks, it was very unexpected. I expected it to be an exercise trip not a trifecta trip. Only one away from 200, not sure how you grow this, but I am enjoying putting the vids together, so I will stick with it.

      Yep keep on going, videos are looking good.
      It seems that you need to a bit of luck to have a video take off. I've had a couple that have gone really well but the last 4 or so haven't got many views at all.
      I don't worry about it, is just a bit of fun for me.

      @@Lure_Loser Mine have been the same, I had 3 or 4 of the Enoggera ones go really well and now I struggle to get 100 views. I don't understand whats different, in the end I hope a few people take something from them and go fishing.
      While I have you. Did you happen to watch my last Somerset video? What would be putting the holes in the red claw pots? Have you ever come across that? The holes were either in the side or right at the top. Whatever it was liked the cat food in the stocking I was using for bait. It was gone in all three traps.

      Yeah I actually have no idea, never had it happen before

      @@Lure_Loser I was thinking eels, somebody said water rats. It is the end of the pot as they put about a 15cm cut in it :-(. Good old red claw are worth chasing though. Bloody tasty things.

    Excuse my ignorance but what the go with the pool noodles on your rods

    • @PTPFishing
      @PTPFishing  2 месяца назад +1

      I get asked a lot actually. The are rod floats. If I happen to drop the rods overboard they will float on the surface. I have used them ever since I got tipped out of my kayak by a ski wake at Lake Kurwongbah and lost all my fishing rods a few years ago. They are a really simple solution.

    Does this lake hold carp ?? P.s nice Saratoga!

      Hi, I don't think so. There is a huge population of tilapia and a few other pest fish, but not carp that I am aware of. It may only be a matter of time. They seem to be finding their way into a few of our waterways. Hopefully not though.

    When the catfish are breeding they get territorial and will hit a variety of lures presented

      @@rainhaleorshinefishing Tough time of the year for those that like fishing the edges. If the lakes settle, I think the schools will fire up. Maybe I will be able to figure them out this year. (need to make sure I have my paddle with me though :-))))

    What's the problem with catfish good fighting fish

    • @PTPFishing
      @PTPFishing  2 года назад

      No real issue with them, just not the target species and due to their spines, a very difficult fish to deal with in the kayak.
