I have in the last 5 years started a vision board that gets updated every year. I focus on the dimension of wellness including financial wellness. This has led me to focus all my resources (money, time, energy) on what will help me realize my vision. E.g financially wellness for me in next 5 years = mortgage paid. So now I build that into my money choices. It really works if you keep it in front of your eyes. ❤

I evolved a similar way of thinking out of my work experience - you can fail at something if you don't break it down into manageable subtasks, which you might just as well succeed at if you had broken it down and accomplished it one step at a time. I've had enormous difficulty explaining this principle to people I care about, but now I can just share your video with them 🙂 The goal is what you want achieved, the lead measures are how you achieve it, in concrete and measurable actions you can take.

I’m a new sub 😊, I find your videos excellent the way you explain everything in a simple way. Being an expat English guy in east Asia for two decades I haven’t really kept up with technology.
My daughters, started their RUclips channel and within seven months they hit 100,000 subscribers, now it’s been 16 months and they have 129,000 subscribers and over 43 million views in total.
I will keep watching your videos because other RUclipsrs that tried to explain is too confusing for me.

Just discovered your channel and I feel motivated to put my life back in order..
5 yr, 10yr goals. Time, location freedom, value, "roadmap" plan . Break down goals into quantifiable goals. 3 month timeframe for goals. Ambitious and risky goals. 19/10/23, goals, plan and accountability partner group had most success.
Whatever info you're sharing comes from a lot of personal experiences, research, and mind-storming, I can easily connect with you being an entrepreneur myself as I face these challenges every now and then. Have been following you lately and I love how you've evolved, starting from scratch, managing the demanding job of yours, and working really hard to prepare such valuable content for your viewers parallelly.
The amount of effort you are putting into your channel is fantastic! I hope your viewers realize that nothing comes as easy as it seems, the info that they get in just 8-10 mins required a person to invest certain weeks or even years to put them into the best shape. The research, the correctness of the content, delivery, editing, and the amount of time invested to get the job done is pretty huge. 1. Vision - how you want to see yourself, it should not be scratched on the stone. You just need to think. 2. The roadmap is essentially your strategy for how you will achieve this goal.
3. This is goal setting and for this, Nischa uses a three-stage formula 1. How many goals & how to ? - research has shown that in order to successfully achieve goals, you need to set 3 goals for a year. And it is better to set a time frame for the goal, if you set the time for a year, it will not give you much motivation to do actions, for this it is better to break this goal into quarters. Once you have set a goal and deadlines, the next step will be to lead measures, but it will be a mistake if you focus only on the result, you need to focus on the process. And also to have a board for a month with 3 main tasks in a prominent place and part number 3 is to have a responsible partner with whom you will set tasks and report for the previous ones every week.

I'm motivated by visual images so I created a storyboard of pictures that reflect my long-term goals - condo overlooking the sea, 6-figure savings account, etc...My mental trick is, whenever I'm presented with the opportunity to spend more than my budget or otherwise get off track, is to stop and ask myself "Would I rather do/have this now or take a pass and be one step closer to my goals?"

I have just come across your channel and I am allowing myself to think I can do this....again, I have been here before.
I have had a lot of personal tragedy leaving me in debt over the last 5 years. I have been here before, and each time I have managed to get out of it. I might be clear of debt, possibly this time next year, but having read 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad', I am going to try and save my 10% first each month and as my debt is reduced, I am going to try and increase on the 10%. I fully agree with this method of paying your self first; although, the government will never like this as they do like having money. I do want to set up my own limited company; although, everyone keeps trying to tell me that I need to be sole trader first. I don't agree with this, as this does not fit my life model or strategy, mainly because of the tax implications and the how they workout child maintenance. I do have two other part time jobs, which do generate me enough income to cover my cost of living.
In one of your videos, you talk about goal setting, and accountability partner. In principle, I agree with both, but I find that accountability partners can be very opinionated to what you should be doing, and in truth, they are not entitled to voice their opinion to try and influence you; that is not the same as having an opinion, they can have that. For this reason, and this year, I am going to try and do this on my own.
As for goal setting, that is a must. I have set them, but being able to stick to them, is going to be very difficult as each month my mortgage has gone up. Time to set a fixed rate on the mortgage, but I am not sure if I will get a remortgage as my wage is not constant; also, my house is now half the value that I paid for it 17 years ago; meaning, I am in negative equity - 'oh the joys!'.
Let's see what happens in the next 12 month's. These 12 months have been broken down into 3 monthly groups, but group is done on a monthly basis. I have actually got a 10 to 17 year plan.

Recently discovered this channel. Love it - Trying to surround myself with similar minded people.
While the 1st of Jan is a great time to take stock of things, I feel strongly that achieving goals has a lot to do with the psychology of the individual rather than the process. For instance, you would’ve achieved what you have even without an accountability partner.
So I’d advise people to take it easy, enjoy the sunsets and spend quality time with family.
But then, I have always been a great fan of the concept of winging it!

Thank you for the great videos and the book recommendations. Things that have worked for me are. Looking back at past goals I've achieved, especially when I start to get discouraged. I also like to visualize my future self. How I see myself is often more important than where I see myself. Giving myself credit for the goals I have reached, no matter how slight. Keeps me focused and on track

Oh, I never read any book on goal setting but have been doing it on my own- 4 goals a year. 1 per quarter
Setting goals is fine but keep in mind that the infrastructure around you like your family for instance should not become a thorn in your side. Already the government is working hard to keep you from achieving your financial goals with their ever increasing taxation and the fact that they side with the ultra wealthy to maintain their wealth At the expense of yours. Also corporations are mandated to constantly downsize so you have to navigate that headwind as well.
I found that setting goals is fine to get a macro economic picture of your future but the details need to be very careful he managed to get there

Great video. This might sound a bit silly but what about people who aren't sure what their goals are? Were you always really clear in what you wanted? Maybe a video on how you came to these goals. e.g. why are you so passionate about doing volunteer work? What made you realise real estate was your goal? etc The internet shows us so many goals 1/2 time i dont even know if they are goals that are even mine.
