As a hull city fan I had the privilege of watching Jay Jay in the championship, the season we got promoted to the Premier league . His talent was ridiculous,I remember playing Burnley that year and we won 2 nil Jay Jay completely ran the game but the moment that stood out for me was when he received the ball on the edge of our penalty area . He looked up and belted the ball 60 yards and i and the whole stadium where bewildered why he had hoofed the ball like that until we saw the winger coming in from the right hand side and it landed inch perfect into his stride. great human being too ,I met him that year and got his signature for my nephew, he couldn't have been nicer. Big Sam had him in his pomp what a player he was . My favourite player ever to come out of Africa ,and that is really saying something when you think of drogba
As a nigerian who watched Jay Jay, I gotta say he was good but sometimes we did not benefit from all the dribbles. I give that title to Kanu. He did things that gave both country and club victory. Very high IQ too.
Jay Jay Okacha free transfer… madness 🤣 from paris to bolton haha Football used to be amazing man. I remember us (Middlesbrough) signing Ravanelli, Juninho, Emerson.. even later on with Mendieta, Zenden, Yakubu, Viduka. Football has changed so much man.. Id of taken Okocha in a heart beat 🙌🏼⚽️

Harry Redknapp has a channel with his own show!? My god how did I not know this!! Absolute legend of the game mate, love hearing you speak about the game, this has made my day
4:58 had me in tears, why ain't Torquay top of the bleedin' league! Genius. We're lucky Harry's doing this podcast so we can get these stories on record, legend of the game. Cheers Harry!
Yeah, listen you'd have to pay Mr Redknapp a few £100 first. No joke. Any charity work he does he asks to be paid in a few £1000s. He is a multi millionaire. Rotten to the core by big football money the more they get the more they want. In his early days he wouldn't have asked I'm sure but money corrupts don't it 'arry.
How does your channel only have 1.5k subscribers... this is great Harry. Don't have many characters like you in football anymore, so glad I found your channel! Cant wait for more videos! Good luck with everything you're getting up to these days, good to see you so happy!
@@TheHarryRedknappShow Still trying to imagine Harry Redknapp make this reply. Naah! Its the social media team but great content man. We need more of this.
Loads of love and respect to you both. What you guys have done at the highest level of Football in the PL with not perhaps the best teams is absolutely commendable!! Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth & Spurs team were legendary. A very good and under rated manager. I feel if he manages a top 6 side, they will achieve great success. Cheers
Superb content, both of these should of been England manager, I know Sam was for a day! But can't believe Harry never got the job. Old skool man management like Terry Venables. Both these guys achieved results whatever they had to work with.
An old friend of my family, Alan Thorne brought Sam down from the North and made him Captain at Millwall. He loaned him his very expensive large beautiful house in Kent as he lived in Spain, when he came back one weekend he went to the house and said it was basically destroyed. Mrs Thorne once described big Sam to me as a great big lovable lunatic! Love the show H.
When I was young, I was at the front of the West Enclosure at Upton Park while Redknapp was waiting to take a free kick. Someone was receiving attention on the pitch. He chatted and joshed with the WH supporters who absolutely adored him. The only other players I saw engage in some banter with the crowd were Dave McKay of Spurs and David Webb of Chelsea.
Yeah. It was a shock that Redknapp's charity work requires payment, in £1000s & worse charities pay it, charities now are big business & big bonuses paid to their execs, of course the volunteers accept no payment which makes multi millionaire Redknapp's actions reprehensible. No one seems to care nowadays, money has corrupted sport that much & seemingly charities who now raise money by lotteries which is gambling & money you donate is partly given as winnings.
If they hire Harry for whatever, that's his business, and they get 100 times that in donations, then it helps people less well off than us. Harry deserves his success, he's earned it, and look at the friends he's made, a who's who of sport. You'd probably bite their hand off if they offered you a large amount, but it won't happen because your a nobody like me.
@@MB-zm8lc let's not forget that Harry probably has hundreds of requests and opportunities coning through on a daily basis. He shows a lot more integrity by seeking a decent fee to commit to a specific opportunity and give as much value as possible.
The wealth of footballing wisdom and great stories between the two of them, I doubt that the regular podcast runtime suffices to hear the half! I'm glad Mr. Redknapp has a podcast, I've immediately subscribed because who doesn't want to hear from Harry Redknapp
Love Harry why not show the full clip on RUclips tho ? This interview is like 40 mins long the full clip but without seeing them on this clip is just listening
I’ve always felt that most of what’s behind the grief these two get is simply snobbery; they’re both working class people who have been looked down on all their careers.
Wasn’t Alex Ferguson working class? Bobby Robson? I don’t think it’s a class thing. Most football managers from their era, and before came from a working class background. I think it was more a perception of their personalities and characters, whether fair or not, and their association with teams outside the big 4, or 6 or whatever it is now. I think Allardyce was seen as a relegation specialist ( saving teams from it) and Redknapp had a wheeler dealer reputation. Maybe both unfair.
Absolutely love these legends telling stories about their careers and when they were young. Last night I saw the SAF interview with Gary Neville. Love em old people telling us kids about football.
How cannot you not love Harry Redknapp as a bloke, manager and great story teller, the guy is pure class. Wolves fan here, I'd have loved for Harry to have managed Wolves at some stage in his career as he would have done an amazing job.
Dickie Walker (Harry's comment 2:14) told me that being a footballer was the best job in the world, after all where else can you get 50,000 fans all calling you a bastard at the same time!?!
