You can take the allen bolts out of those supertrapp mufflers and remove/add discs to change back pressure/flow. There was one on my XR200 when I got it, supposedly you could tune them for torque that way. Retro technology, kinda cool. Those late 80's blue-white-tahitian red XR's are the best looking
@@ulifehr5357 yes, I have one on my Suzuki DR650. They’re great and have a nice distinct sound to them. The baffles also serve as a spark-arrester for legal purposes.
I read the following procedure which ALWAYS works when first starting the bike after a while 1) With the fuel off, kill switch on, hold throttle wide open and gently kick eight or so times with the decompression lever pulled. This clears it out 2) Turn fuel on, kill switch off, kick gently until you find top dead centre, pull decompression lever and kick maybe 1", release decompression lever and kick it properly with no throttle. If it doesn't work after a few attempts go back to stage 1) as it is now likely flooded.
Do you know if it has the stock cam in it? That might be the reason. But I'm not an expert.. I bought a 2003 last summer, stock though. 300 miles only. I reckon you are Norwegian or Swedish. You can reach me on Instagram if you like, same name as on RUclips 👍

I don't have a problem with starting the bike with the wrong shoes. But I definitely have a problem with Crocs existing. They don't offer anything, except they're ugly.

The XR 650 R was kickstart only and liquid cooled. Primarily designed to be a desert racer to win Baja. The XR 650 L and the XR 600s are air cooled XR 650 L has the electric start

It's nice to see this, but the part that needs explaining is when she says. "You kick down til you feel the stopping point". That is not that easy to feel or hear. The rest is easy. Every video out there shows this. But not the stopping point. What it feels like to know when you are at top dead center.

I use this same exact method on my xr400. Letting it run with the fuel off is a good way to let it shut off too

from 'Slow Old Guys - Slow Bikes'....SuperTrapp exhaust is governed by how many discs are installed, more discs = more flow/output.

It was alternate between quiet street mode to high flow performance.
@@MrPepeyanez they use to back in earlier 2000s. I don't know if supertrap are still around.
The super trap exhaust has those screws so you can add or take off disk plates depending if you want more noise or less.

my 350r is a bugger to start. someone deleted the decomp lever. need to check the valves i know.
