Love the setup. I normally shore fish. But i want to get a kayak. Hard to find a video in uk with a breakdown of the set up so appreciate it 👍
@@mogz00002 No worries glad it helped. Its hard with kayak fishing there is so many different opinion’s on what is a good setup. I’ve changed mine many times and Ive been happy with how it’s setup now for sometime. You can add so many gadgets like fish finders more comfortable seats etc I prefer a lighter setup less to wash down and easier to paddle.
@@Theyakler id love some advice on what would be a good beginner set up. I do like the kayak you have and was told that 13ft is a good length for moving quicker through the water and stability. But I'm not that clued up.
@@mogz00002 If you plan on fishing more than a couple hundred meters from the shore I would recommend a 13foot kayak they more stable and easier to paddle. Peddle kayaks are becoming popular but they so expensive. I know a few people selling their kayaks if you join the kayak Fishing UK Facebook page or other pages like the one I run Kayak Fishing Portsmouth there is usually some good secondhand setups.
@@Theyakler I was looking at getting sunfish double sit on top leisure kayak 2 plus 1. As my boy is 13 and he wants to fish to. We live in South Wales so some nice bays down by us that would be good to start. We start in close first to see how we go lol

Nice video. I just ordered my first kayak and all the bits, cannot wait to to get out with it. I'm just trying understand what radio is for? I understand thats for safety reasons , but could you explain more in depth?

I only use one if I’m fresh water fishing. In the sea I tend to use the Navionics app just to get a rough idea of the drop offs and depth.

I have used them before but I mainly use them for fresh water now because I fish marks in the sea I’m familiar with. They do have their benefits though especially when you trying to find the drop offs.

Anyway... moves to the UK recently... First things first... got myself a kayak. Now I need to figure our some fishing spots... I'm fairly close to the Solent. Howzit I am indeed. I’m happy to take you out but it probably won’t be for a while due to work. You can join local kayak fishing groups on Facebook they regularly go out and post where to meet up.
@@Theyakler Grand. Thanks for the reply. I have had a look through a bunch of the groups but sadly didn't find any that has been "welcoming". Any suggestions on good friendly group for the Solent? We can catch up later anyway.
