I wonder if such a design would be feasible nowadays?

Possibly. It would be a more tank destroyer-style vehicle though, and would require a much more angled UFP and LFP. However, you could probably fit a 120, 130, or even 140mm cannon in there. If you could get it to 4 sec reload like the 103, it would be a great defensive tank.

No, it can't fire on the move. It was not an issue when it first entered service as no other tank could fire accuratly on the move either. But since the 1980's and the introduction of tanks like the Leopard 2, which can fire accuratly on the move, the 103 is obsolete.
While it could still have some function in a war, there isn't any role I can think of that a newer vehicle cannot do better. If you want a low, light and lightly armoured vehicle with an effective gun, the CV90120 would be a better option.

I think just the fact that it's almost impossible to hide the heat signature of a tank nowadays makes it superfluous.

@@squelching Far from impossible. CV90 for example has the exhaust system running on the inside of the hull on the right side of the vehicle, allowing the exhausts to cool down (a bit) before leaving the vehicle.
And there's also the Barracuda camouflage system, that reduces the heat signature of the whole vehicle and is in widespread use in many countries.
