For how cute this looks, it's surprisingly complicated and deep. You did not have to extend the water to the "goldfish". I think that red square is like a habitat planner, that sets itself to a creature, to make sure all it's requirements are met bevore it actually can move in. I remember from the demo that you need to expand grass and flowers pretty agressively to progress.
I only know yarrow for the flower, not the root. Can you eat yarrow? You use it to stop bleeding. My medieval medicinal herbs knowledge is kinda niche, but it does come up in video games, sometimes. But I love gnomes. David the Gnome was my favorite show as a little kid.
