Kurt Cobain entered a pizzeria in Paris few months before his death. He looked like a junky (he was one), very dirty. The guy said "What do you want" ? KC : "I'm waiting for friends". The guy answered "There is no friend here, go away!" KC pulled his gun out and shot at the ceil and threw away banknotes at the guy's face before running away the other side of the road in his 4 stars hostel :D

Eastwood would have been 52 in 1982 when this film was made..i don't feel at that age he would pulled the role of John Rambo convincingly enough due to being a very physical type role. Anyone else think this is the best Rambo film? I'm a kid of the 80s, so I remember when Rambo: First Blood, Part 2 was all the rage. But as an adult, I feel like this one has a really grounded sense of drama. And Rambo isn't as much of an unstoppable force with crazy hardware. The fight scenes feel really human and with real stakes.

    • @RaiceGeriko
      @RaiceGeriko 5 лет назад +15

I think there are a plethora of reasons why movies simply aren't as good these days. I'm not really going to go into it because it would take too long.
I mean, sure. You get some good ones every now and again. But back then--right around in this late 70's on through the 90's even--you would get at least three or four really good movies a year. Every major studio would have at least one really good, character driven film that will stand the test of time.
And these weren't like our modern tentpole movies. These were films budgeted around $30-50 million tops, and they were so good. And the amazing thing about it is that most of these movies were scripts written for the screen. A lot of them were never prior conceived in books or anything. Not that that's a bad thing, it's just to illustrate how good the folks were at making movies and telling compelling stories back then.

When they took him into custody they should have gotten somebody from Veterans Affairs to come down like a licensed counselor or someone qualified to work with someone with PTSD. This is a good example of cause and effect. The vietnam vets like in my country were trained to kill and were required to do it to survive and make it home only to be rejected by the very society that they were sent to protect. Rambo was a good example; the small town cops pushed him over the edge and he went berserk just as he was trained to do and they suffered the consequences for their actions, while Rambo was only doing what he was trained to do to survive. And in the end like the vietnam war it was all for nothing and could have been avoided in the first place.

The funny thing you realize is that looking back on it this movie is very different from all the other Rambo movies, it’s still a fast paced action movie but it’s not about Rambo going into some dangerous territory to take out bad guys or something, it’s about Rambo getting mistreated by the police and hiding away in the woods, that’s one of the things I really liked about Last Blood, it also toned itself down and told a story that was more grounded and real, and it was great, granted Rambo IV is my second favorite and that movie is more a blend of the grittier and the goofier side of Rambo but nevertheless this movie is truly special and is hands down the best of the franchise

All I remember is when he told his commander that war was not a switch you turn on and off! Such a powerful and trueful statement... I was with a friend who asked me what PTSD was and we were watching TV when this movie started playing, and I told her, just watch this movie and you will understand... She asked me because I was in service at the time and I was getting treatetment for the same thing... My heart goes out to all my brothers who are suffering from it. And I pray that our Lord Jesus Christ heals them all. In His name I pray ... Amen

We had a family reunion and my cousin who suffers from ptsd was there (cause you know iraq) and 2 of my younger cousins were playing with those white tiny balls you throw in the floor and it makes a popping noise. Well one of them thought of throwing a handful next to my cousin just "test him" and throughout the whole time he was wilding out and choking out his brother for trying to calm him down; All that came to mind was this scene and the Rambo theme playing in my head.

In the book, Rambo had just come out of the shower and had only a towel draped over his shoulders when Teasle came at him with a pair of scissors, insisting on him getting a haircut before his court appearance. "You're not cutting my hair." After Teasle took a few snips, Rambo exploded and tore right through the Sheriff's station and escaped without a stitch of clothes on. It wasn't until much later that he solved that problem.

      1.First Blood
      2.Rambo 4
      3.First Blood part 2
      4.Frist Blood part 3
I also liked the novel and I think Rambo 4 captured some of the traits of that version of Rambo.

My father was the bravest man I’ve ever known; two tours of Vietnam and the first Gulf War; and he never spoke of the wars. One time I asked him what movies were the the closest to what he saw, and he said Full Metal Jacket, The Iron Triangle and Rambo First blood flashbacks.
After my father died, I was talking to my mom and I found out he had to kill many North Vietnamese; my heart broke as he gave his all for his country and the agent Orange that killed him, he literally gave his life. And as well as I know my father, he’d do it all over again, as he’d rather do what has to be done to prevent another from having to do them.

This is just wonderfully executed cinema (WEC). The classic tale of do not mess with somebody as you know not what they have been through and what they are capable of. Well these fellas opted to learn that the hard way. I'm particularly drawn to 1.59 when caught in the crossfire cop (CCC) enters with lunch for all and attempts to reason with the spooked escapee. However at this point Rambo, unable to offer the returning officer a fair trial, must ruthlessly slide tackle him.

I like how he pushes that guy off the bike at 2:11, he stands in front of him and gets him to slow down or swerve, and when he grabs him; he does so forcefully but he kept a hold of his collar so he didn't immediately hit the ground, he kind of gently but quickly lowered him, really shows he wasn't trying to hurt anyone.
He should've been wearing a helmet too. I mean my dad used to ride his motorcycle without a helmet, now he's living with severe brain damage and he can't move his neck because of all the metal plates they had to put in, plus his face was torn to shreds, although that surgery went considerably well, he can't move most of his facial muscles or emote with them but it looks like it did before the accident, he lucked out in that respect, facial reconstruction in the 80s probably wasn't as up to scratch as it is now.

The problem with traumas and "Vietnam" is that... when you are in danger, your brain starts to record everything to adapt to the environment, so those dangerous situations get imprinted. The brain does not know if is good or bad, it knows "this is information I need to think about and survive". So... if the "soldier" stays in "Vietnam" this would be his new status quo and he will be adapted to that environment. When you bring those people back to the "U.S." the brains still have the information in-printed, when the information has a negative connotation is called "trauma".
The only way to get back to your new normal is with constant therapy, new affirmations and labor that brings you tons of joy. So the mind will switch to the new reality. When you leave the person unattended... it becomes madness. The trick is to have healthy social life, not just "medication".
