Apparently Clint Eastwood and Robert De Niro were considered for the role of Rambo, but this role was basically tailor made for Stallone. No one could’ve played this role like he did!
@@ThunderRod Eastwood would have been 52 in 1982 when this film was made..i don't feel at that age he would pulled the role of John Rambo convincingly enough due to being a very physical type role. I think there are a plethora of reasons why movies simply aren't as good these days. I'm not really going to go into it because it would take too long. I mean, sure. You get some good ones every now and again. But back then--right around in this late 70's on through the 90's even--you would get at least three or four really good movies a year. Every major studio would have at least one really good, character driven film that will stand the test of time. And these weren't like our modern tentpole movies. These were films budgeted around $30-50 million tops, and they were so good. And the amazing thing about it is that most of these movies were scripts written for the screen. A lot of them were never prior conceived in books or anything. Not that that's a bad thing, it's just to illustrate how good the folks were at making movies and telling compelling stories back then.

Sylvester actually broke the dude's nose at 2:00 by accident. The actor was ok with leaving the take in since it doesn't get any more realistic than that.
This is a good example of cause and effect. The vietnam vets like in my country were trained to kill and were required to do it to survive and make it home only to be rejected by the very society that they were sent to protect. Rambo was a good example; the small town cops pushed him over the edge and he went berserk just as he was trained to do and they suffered the consequences for their actions, while Rambo was only doing what he was trained to do to survive. And in the end like the vietnam war it was all for nothing and could have been avoided in the first place.
The funny thing you realize is that looking back on it this movie is very different from all the other Rambo movies, it’s still a fast paced action movie but it’s not about Rambo going into some dangerous territory to take out bad guys or something, it’s about Rambo getting mistreated by the police and hiding away in the woods, that’s one of the things I really liked about Last Blood, it also toned itself down and told a story that was more grounded and real, and it was great, granted Rambo IV is my second favorite and that movie is more a blend of the grittier and the goofier side of Rambo but nevertheless this movie is truly special and is hands down the best of the franchise

You know I too was once traumatized by war but I still find this scene hilarious because when you mess with an ex-military, you gotta be prepared for two consecutive kicks in the (you know where)
This is just wonderfully executed cinema (WEC). The classic tale of do not mess with somebody as you know not what they have been through and what they are capable of. Well these fellas opted to learn that the hard way. I'm particularly drawn to 1.59 when caught in the crossfire cop (CCC) enters with lunch for all and attempts to reason with the spooked escapee. However at this point Rambo, unable to offer the returning officer a fair trial, must ruthlessly slide tackle him.
The real thing back then, no cgi, no correctness destroying the plot, the viewer is totally into the film, plus brutal beating without unrealistic martial arts scenes
Still the best one of em all. Always has been one of my faves ever since it released. I have it on BluRay but somewhere in this house i still have an old vhs copy that i taped of the tv back in the 80's.
At 0:56 I start tearing up 😢 cause I know not all our Vietnam Veterans made it home 😭 and I know this is what most of them went through God only knows what else they did to our boys
I like how he pushes that guy off the bike at 2:11, he stands in front of him and gets him to slow down or swerve, and when he grabs him; he does so forcefully but he kept a hold of his collar so he didn't immediately hit the ground, he kind of gently but quickly lowered him, really shows he wasn't trying to hurt anyone. He should've been wearing a helmet too. I mean my dad used to ride his motorcycle without a helmet, now he's living with severe brain damage and he can't move his neck because of all the metal plates they had to put in, plus his face was torn to shreds, although that surgery went considerably well, he can't move most of his facial muscles or emote with them but it looks like it did before the accident, he lucked out in that respect, facial reconstruction in the 80s probably wasn't as up to scratch as it is now.
rambo had every right to beat the living crap out of those jerks, he just came into their town doing no harm and he got mistreated so horribly, those cops did"nt deserve any of rambo's acts of mercy
THE greatest scene in all of cinema history! It’s like The Stones at MSG ‘72, Led Zeppelin L.A. Forum ‘71, The Who at Leeds! A total work of art. And, I’m a former cop. These Constitution hating, disrespecting cops have whatever justice is coming for them! In this case, Rambo was justice!
The problem with traumas and "Vietnam" is that... when you are in danger, your brain starts to record everything to adapt to the environment, so those dangerous situations get imprinted. The brain does not know if is good or bad, it knows "this is information I need to think about and survive". So... if the "soldier" stays in "Vietnam" this would be his new status quo and he will be adapted to that environment. When you bring those people back to the "U.S." the brains still have the information in-printed, when the information has a negative connotation is called "trauma". The only way to get back to your new normal is with constant therapy, new affirmations and labor that brings you tons of joy. So the mind will switch to the new reality. When you leave the person unattended... it becomes madness. The trick is to have healthy social life, not just "medication".

Am I the only person who couldn’t stop laughing when Rambo kept charging at the police and they couldn’t complete their sentence?
40 years later police still behave the same way abusing ppl’s rights good job filmmakers depicting police exactly how they are today
This is the most realistic scene I have ever seen from specialist force unit who escape from tough gaolers !
Is Fantastic...amazing!!
The real thing back then, no cgi, no correctness destroying the plot, the viewer is totally into the film, plus brutal beating without unrealistic martial arts scenes
epic! How many times we watch it, never get tired of it!
Still the best one of em all. Always has been one of my faves ever since it released. I have it on BluRay but somewhere in this house i still have an old vhs copy that i taped of the tv back in the 80's.
2.06... When that music begins... U know you're listening and watching a masterpiece... I have this music in my car, gives me goosebumps
This movie clip is therapeutic. 💯
"Hey someone call 911. Oh yeah."
At 0:56 I start tearing up 😢 cause I know not all our Vietnam Veterans made it home 😭 and I know this is what most of them went through God only knows what else they did to our boys
Art Galt: Come on you sonofa. Few minutes later, GET HIM OFF ME!!!!!

1:30 definition of wrong place wrong time
Same here 2:00
That glorious burst of the Rambo theme at 2:04.
Can't say the same with guy rolling in the ground in agony because he had his nose broken in real life.
how fitting the ad on this video was the new Rambo last blood trailer
Top acting right here!
This is why vietnam flashbacks popularized?
no one:
Rambo: they drew first blood
Let’s be honest about this. Sgt. Galt was pretty brutal with Rambo from the minute they met until Galt fell out of the helicopter.
I feel for that last cop where hes walking into work and gets tripped with an elbow to the face. Not a great way to start your day.
Bravo Rambo , ovo su prave scene , tako se bori !!! Bravo Rambo Veterane !!!
Classic Fave Scene when Sheriff Teasle's Deputies had it Comin' (1982) #80sOldSchoolClassicMovie
1:59 always makes me laugh 😂
This scene in the book was brutal asf
Brutality was the Cops, not John J Rambo!
One of my favorite scène of the movie
2:05 Play it - again and again.
THIS is one of my favourite scenes of this movie.
Greetings from germany
This movie is a microcosm of the larger problems in our society continuing to this day.
Anyone notice Rambo's little whimper after Mitch says 'How blind are you'?
"You can only push someone so far...before they break" Sue Snell Carrie (2013)
1:52, does this make First Blood a Christmas movie? 🎄
The first Rambo film was about Police brutality. They should have left him alone.
No character in the history of movies has deserved to fall from a helicopter than Art Galt.
