- With a 3rd grader, kindergartener, and preschool-aged children this year, we decided to go with family-style curriculum with a very hands-on, activity-based, and reading-centered curriculum for my two older girls and lots of learning through play and following the lead of our soon to be 3 year old. We went with the Playful Pioneers by The Peaceful Press so that my children can learn most subjects together. With my dad still recovering after a 4 month hospital stay and a bad TBI, I wanted to make schooling feel as smooth and family-style as possible. We are starting morning menus this year as well, as I share in this video!

We used The Kind Kingdom a couple of years ago and it was such a full and lovely curriculum. Peaceful Press is such a beautiful company, I love all that they do.

I’m wondering now if there is a similar book series set in England where we live, I’m sure there must be! 🤔 We’re quite close to the Lake District and have visited a lot of the Beatrix Potter sites, but my 7, nearly 8 year old is all ‘Pottered out’ now 😅xxx

I'm curious if you're still doing tgatb language arts AND everything involved in playful pioneers?
I’m doing most things with Playful Pioneers but mainly skipping their language arts and more copy work since we have our own handwriting we do.
Love this but I’m confused your doing playful pioneer but also G&B for language arts? I thought that was included in playful pioneer. I’m trying to find a family based curriculum for my 3rd grader and Kindergartner too! Seriously interested in PP but don’t want to spend lots of money 😅
Playful Pioneers has a loose language arts but not phonics. It’s not teaching them to read.
I found it very affordable since it’s just using a couple core books and then the rest I’m getting at the library. And the curriculum itself is only $50.
