I really enjoy shooting guns, always been a hobby of mine but safety can not be overstated when it comes to shooting guns or generally being around them. No matter your side, whether you're pro or anti gun.
Shooting guns can be fun. I particularly like longer range target shooting where you relax your body to zero in. It's kind of trance like relaxation like Yoga, but with shooty bang bang.
"I don't get the adrenaline of shooting at a tub full of explosives" These are the words of a man who has clearly never shot at a tub full of explosives and had the concussion actuate the valves of his heart without his nervous system being involved.
Brandon, or as we AK owners call him, "Papa Kalash, Comrade Kalash", is a grand man. He showcases firearms of all kind, firearm tips and safety, sponsored by 2A supportive organizations and links to places to help find a place in the firearms industry.
Shooting at tannerite is actually a lot of fun, but even just 1 pound of it can give you some pretty impressive results. Usually, I see people do things like, stuff tannerite into a cabbage or watermelon they partially hollowed out, or a cardboard box filled with confetti, or dumb stuff like that. Where it gets sketchy is when they either use _way_ too much for the range they're shooting from (as above), or put it into things without consideration for what happens after the tannerite explodes (like the aforementioned lawnmower and FPSRussia incidents). In the case of the FPSRussia incident, they actually _had_ thought about it, but they couldn't get the tannerite to fit and stay put in the desired location (on top of the dashboard), so they instead put it on the floor by the passenger door, and did not think further ahead to reevaluate what could happen. Luckily, the door missed Kyle and he was ok (in fact, he just went right back into his bit like an absolute pro).
I don't know if it's still on the package, but safe distances are listed... It also says (IIRC) *MAXIMUM use is 1lb, it might be 2lbs, but certainly not 50lbs... *for personal/range use. Professional use would be a maximum needed for effect required, checked and signed off by an explosives expert, and location dependant, maybe other jurisdictional authorities.
Also that if your dealing with any kinds of explosives your best stay tf away further away to avoid any shrapnel or debris. Which most of these people fail to understand
We had two Darwin award recipiants in my hometown. Two girls sitting in a very small public toilet, huffing lightergas and then one of them decides to light a cigaret. You can probably imagine what happened. And bc some ppl never learn from stupid, we had some ppl from my local public school class and some ppl from a different class do something similar. They were sitting in one of the ppl's room, huffing lightergas - one of them lit a cigaret. One of the ppl, who got seriously hurt had to be airlifted to the capitals hospital burn unit. Also one of the ppl involved lost one of his ears - literally. He was leaving the room, when the cigaret got lit. The Police had to do a "don't do this shite" class for the whole school.

Tannerite is a binary explosive, and is cheap and easy to make, and has replaced fertilizer for the farmer's choice in utility explosive. (Yes farmers can need explosives in their work.) Morons have taken this advancement and nearly killed themselves to every avenue and degree possible. Hence, Guns and explosives, are awesome. Dangerous in the hands of a Moron, but still awesome. (For reference, I'm a gunsmith, who used to carry a federal explosives permit for work. Yeah, respect the danger, for it will not respect you)
Brandon's gun meme reviews and other darwin awards videos are all a mix of very funny, dark jabs and educational. I love watching them, and I feel like you all would as well.
"Why is this fun?" Have you never fired a gun, gone hunting, skeet shooting, anything? There is nothing better then heading out on a nice day on my property setting up targets and shooting for hours. I highly suggest you try it.
Exactly! Shooting guns is exhilarating! Super fun! You just have to always maintain safety at all times. Me and my brother go shooting our grandfather's guns all the time.
The worst thing about the first one: it's not only a HE cartridge. IT'S A LIVE ONE. It's not a matter of "it can explode", but rather IT'S READY TO DO SO
When I was a child/young teen thing, I went to a summer camp and got to sign up for a rifle course. There had also been a pistol course but the sign uo sheet for that filled quickly. Anyways, in the course every kid was shown how to handle the firearm safely before we got to shoot a mag of .22 lr at targets. Then while in the JROTC in high school, we had a week long summer event and I had to pass a test on gun safety and range commands before I could even use a pellet gun. So for me it's just been something I've learned and re-learned over and over again. Don't fall into complacency just because you know the rules. They have been paid for with blood and don't need more added on.
The purposes of tannerite are two fold. Determining a hit on a target for very long range shots where it may be difficult to see even with a spotting scope if there is a hole in a target but the big *poof* from the small explosion (and it is small if not using way too much like in the video) is much easier to see even if shooting at targets 1000 yards away. The other use is on farms and such for dealing with clearing stuff like stumps from fields where you can have a can of the stuff dug in at the base of the tree and back up and detonate it from a safe distance with a rifle. It is a binary explosive and 100% safe to store and transfer when it hasn't been mixed together and once mixed it is still very safe to handle but you aren't allowed to transport it like that because then you would be driving down a road in a potential car bomb if there was a wreck or fire. As long as you actually read and follow the safety instructions you don't end up in viral videos where years later people are still laughing at your stupidity. As for videos being used in safety training for firearms handling I would fully support some sort of firearms safety classes being in public schools. Make it a two for one special and combine it with history classes so students can better understand the weapons and their use in various wars they study. Just don't let the classes involve DEA agents that show up and shoot themselves in the leg. Yes, that happened and the video is on youtube.
Sadly the wish for gun safety being taught in schools (at least in the US) will never be. Because it normalizes guns, rather than abolishing them. Which means these 'delightful' darwin awards will continue ad infinitum.
21:45 In the US, at least in most states that I'm aware of, you don't need to take any classes to own guns. You only need to take Hunter's Safety to get a Hunting License. I have a Hunting License and they don't show any graphic videos, but they go over accidents and handling of firearms, including how to cross fences with a firearm and such.
A friend of mine once said "We didn't create a gun we created a way to throw rocks faster at people" With the declining intelligence rate I'm inclined to believe him now
In Illinois you've basically got 2 levels of Gun safety regulations, in Chicago even having one is enough to go to prison. In the rest of the state you only need safety classes if you want a conceal carry license, and need a spotless background check if you are buying one legally ("black market" guns are when you buy someone else's gun off of them without an FFL. Technically illegal but impossible to regulate in any meaningful capacity).
My friend is a firearms and CCL instructor here in Illinois, and yes, he does show many of these videos in his class. And...YES, people still do stupid stuff at the training range. every. damned. time.
It's why you should never hand an loaded gun immediately to anyone during training or even a shooting range until you see how they'll handle the gun before giving them a bullet or two. As you don't want them flagging everyone or doing anything too stupid. That's what most trainers or gun instructors I'm thinking don't seem to follow in on. Starting off with unloaded guns get the trainees used to handling the gun properly before firing them.

Normal loads of tannerite are like 1-5 pounds. We once used 7 pounds to clear dirt out from under a tree to get at roots. 50 is just for a crazy show and internet points.

Well for one thing, that's an anti-material mine, which means it's designed to blow up vehicles. Which means it makes a very big boom. The saving grace there is that it's, by design, not able to be triggered by human weight. There is of course however this thing called "malfunctions." As for the cigarette I doubt it would do anything, however there is a such thing as a magnetic trigger, which means anything ferrous might set it off.
I have to say gun safety is a lot of common knowledge I feel. Think before you mess with. And I always recommend safety courses for anyone that purchases a firearm. Even though I grew up with them I still highly recommend training..
I'll always suggest "Drink Deep and Descend". More people need to know about the wonderful world of Lancer just as people started to enjoy the world of Warhammer.
a coworker i had something similar to the desk pop when a officer was over his house. iirc they were freinds and he was either showing him the gun in a generally safe manner or doing clearing/maintence but it went off in his apartment
The landmine the guy moved was an basic anti-vehicle mine which takes a lot of pressure to set off. He might set it off if he jumped up and down on it though if it is made for heavy vehicles that may not even do it.
I want to give context to one of Brandon's comments that might have escaped notice. It was a burn and a joke. His dog goes on screen to give him attention. And he says, "don't worry, you are safe. I am not criticizing the ATF today." The reason for that comment is that in recent times, the ATF has stepped up raids. In some, a dog gets shot for being a dog. The most recent was a homeowner filmed raid. This guy had a company that made what he called an Auto Keycard. Made of metal and about the size of a business card. Etched into it was a drawing of what is called a lightning link. If cut along the lines, you have lightning link that can be installed in an AR-15, which is normally a semi-automatic rifle, and this allows an automatic function. So, the part is considered a machine gun by the ATF. Technically, the card is not but the ATF is treating it that way. So, the ATF goes to this house and come with sheriff special response team. Dressed in battle gear with their AR-15s and shotguns and service pistols out to take down this dangerous outlaw who makes metal cards. And the first guy in is wondering where the dog is and spends quite a bit of time worrying about the dog. In the meantime, Matt, at CRS Firearms, would do ad reads. And recently, he got arrested by the ATF because he has tried to help raise money for the keycard guy. They will come after anyone they think has anything to do with distribution for machine parts and they will shoot and kill your dog or anyone who gets in the way. That is not a criticism, just a fact. Now, back to jocularity.
"Why is this fun? Why is shooting at..." Fun Fact Seventy-year-old men in 1987-89 had an average testosterone level that was almost 100 points higher than even 55-year-old men in 2002-04. Meaning that the average 22 year old man today, has an average testosterone level roughly equal to that of a 67 year old man in 2000. Therefore, it’s likely that your testosterone levels are half of those of your father and undoubtedly significantly less than your grandfather. Go Shooting with someone who knows what they are doing or get an instructor. As a toxic male, I will tell you that it is in fact fun as fuck blowing shit up. So, ask your mom for your dads man card, doesn't appear you were issued your own, and go to a range and have fun. Just start will a 22LR pistol and put holes in paper or make metal go ping. Trust me you'll enjoy it and dad might just let you use the man card again and you can try camping in the woods.
I work ren fairs in the USA...and cannons are at most fairs ...we have sadly even had a similar event ...complacency is the cause ...I bet that's how he moved them for set up and out of habit did it hear
im a combat engineer for the marines, the resident demo specialist for infantry. DONT KICK UXO. the lane mine clip is actually kinda fine? Its a AT mine so it takes about 300lbs of pressure to set off, and it obviously doesn't have a anti-tamper ignition so yeah id do the same, cigarette and all, military demo is not that sensitive, it cant be with how we use it
It's sucks cause I would be terrified of what the end of that barrel could do to a hand therefore I wouldn't put my hand on it because I respect what it can do, but no single ounce of fear should effect me involuntarily if i believe it's a fact I won't hurt myself if my hand is not there. Boom. More capacity to think and my confidence rises. In this way I've learned how to help anxiety.
15:35 Ouch. Shots fired. Figuratively, as opposed to the literal shots fired by the officer he's referring to who *allegedly* forgot which side of her service belt her Taser sits on when she drew her pistol and shot someone.
Once was talking to a mustered out Marine Recon, he had a metal ball he was spinning and catching. He had picked it up in Iraq as a souvenir. I Said, Dude! That's a cluster bomblet! It's unexploded ordinance! He wouldn't believe me. Don't take my word for it, Google it. He Googled it and a picture came up of the object in his hand. He was like, oh, shit! And I'm like, yeah; they are activated by spinning in the air.
to be fair thats an anti vehicle mine. Its designed to go off when something the size and weight of a truck runs over it, you could jump on top of em and not set them off.
But still like said, they can have anti-tampering measures like vibrations or magnetic fluctuation. I mean props to the guy for clearing the road but I would have tried to use a lasso of rope personally. A very long rope. Preferably with a big rock in between me and the mine.
@@VarvasNukka again the vibrations for that are significant and have to be close and around specific frequencies, thats why you don't see earthquakes or other explosions setting mines off.
@Brandon Herrera first his arms only feel heavy to him... they are definitely definitely lighter now. Also your version of Eminem song made me laugh so hard I farted! Also "Hand"on ball!
Such clips always remind me on my childhood :'D It had nothing to do with guns, but when I was like 11 there was a little festival here in my town. Let's just say I remember two missile fireworks flying right next to my head and right above my head. My mum was actually hit by one, she was standing right next to me. All because some brainiacs thought it would be a great idea to build some self-made, makeshift, launch-thingy for the fireworks. Oh, and here in Germany we can relate to the canon-accident shown in the video. It was maybe three years ago that a guy in his 20's literally blew of his head with a firework canon. The thing did not fire, so he got the great idea to have a look inside the barrel.. and when his head was right in front of the barrel, then the thing did fire.. People are way to carefree when it comes to weapons/explosives.. it's either that, or they are just really really stupid.
You dont know why its fun until you go shoot. Of course, dont be a complete nut case and shoot 50lbs of tannerite. Should shoot with someone who knows what they're doin.

Well for one thing, that's an anti-material mine, which means it's designed to blow up vehicles. Which means it makes a very big boom.
The saving grace there is that it's, by design, not able to be triggered by human weight. There is of course however this thing called "malfunctions."
As for the cigarette I doubt it would do anything, however there is a such thing as a magnetic trigger, which means anything ferrous might set it off.
I have to say gun safety is a lot of common knowledge I feel. Think before you mess with. And I always recommend safety courses for anyone that purchases a firearm. Even though I grew up with them I still highly recommend training..
The title should be 2 lesbians react to the real world 🤣
I'll always suggest "Drink Deep and Descend". More people need to know about the wonderful world of Lancer just as people started to enjoy the world of Warhammer.
I see you're a man of culture as well
a coworker i had something similar to the desk pop when a officer was over his house. iirc they were freinds and he was either showing him the gun in a generally safe manner or doing clearing/maintence but it went off in his apartment
Oh my God you guys actually watched one how do you like it and you guys should watch some of his other stuff it's really cool
The landmine the guy moved was an basic anti-vehicle mine which takes a lot of pressure to set off. He might set it off if he jumped up and down on it though if it is made for heavy vehicles that may not even do it.
That's canon clip I'm willing to bet he's whole hand is broke fingers and all
I love Brandons video's. I've been watching them for about a year now. I'm also a firearms owner and reloader,
Need more Brandon reactions
Georgia is literally famous for having the best peaches in America. The fruit, not ass.
I want to give context to one of Brandon's comments that might have escaped notice. It was a burn and a joke. His dog goes on screen to give him attention. And he says, "don't worry, you are safe. I am not criticizing the ATF today."
The reason for that comment is that in recent times, the ATF has stepped up raids.
3:20 To be fair, there are smaller caliber revolvers with similar dimensions. I've seen revolvers just as big as that that fire .22 short rounds.
Tanarite makes pretty much a big bang with a smaller explosion, it's the safest you can get, pretty much
"Why is this fun? Why is shooting at..."
Fun Fact
Seventy-year-old men in 1987-89 had an average testosterone level that was almost 100 points higher than even 55-year-old men in 2002-04.
Did you really say there is no gun safety regulation?. That is why there is so much fear around them. People really should educate themselves.
Its a AT mine so it takes about 300lbs of pressure to set off, and it obviously doesn't have a anti-tamper ignition so yeah id do the same, cigarette and all, military demo is not that sensitive, it cant be with how we use it
How dude on the right think the guns the problem with the 50 pounds of explosive 😂
These guys should educate themselves on guns
@@cropathfinder Fair point.
Shooting is one of the most enjoyable things you can do, but a little common sense goes a long ways!
My man on the right is stroking his facial hair so much I'm thinking of genie is about to pop out of it
Explosives are like soap, just a dab will do ya ;) Also, guns are tools....use them properly or pay the price
@Brandon Herrera first his arms only feel heavy to him... they are definitely definitely lighter now. Also your version of Eminem song made me laugh so hard I farted! Also "Hand"on ball!
you also need to watch Kentucky Ballistics, Demolition Ranch and Edwin Sarkissian the Science channel you'll get a kick fron this group
reacts to reacts, this is new and exciting... maybe one day you'll crack a 5% like:view ratio
Guns are fun, you would know if you shot some! :D
Honestly with these kind of clips, it’s a bit of both.
Good follow up to this is Scott's accident with his .50 Cal rifle. ruclips.net/video/1449kJKxlMQ/видео.html
@Chicago Reacts
the "Original Video Link" is wrong, might want to have that looked into
Oh hey more of my favorite gun safety psa
industrial machine mishaps are far far worse. you can't even make a joke, they're so bad.
Gun safety should be required in schools.
MORE OF THESE
You dont know why its fun until you go shoot. Of course, dont be a complete nut case and shoot 50lbs of tannerite. Should shoot with someone who knows what they're doin.
Recommendation for unbiased history. Any video
I didn't have to watch any video for getting my FOID card to go use a gun without help and that's in Chicago. Lucky I know the Do's and Don'ts of firearms.
Sooooo man jokes were missed in this video lol
Gun safety isn't taught unless you pay for it. Most is common sense tbh. Gun safety isn't taught so people are ignorant about them. Politicians can lie about them and the ignorant people believe them, politicians can ban YOU from having them. They'll always have guns protecting them but you'll have to wait 5 - 20min for police to show up who aren't even legally obligated to help you anyways. I'm just going to end the rant early lol
15:35 Haha, that would be funny if it wasn't a complete abomination of justice. The judge should be removed from the bench.
LEts GOOO BRANDON
Just FYI: the "Original video link" goes to the wrong video. It's another video by the same guy, so I thing you must have copied the wrong URL.
you should do a video with brandon :D
Its a. "Look this is what happens if you decide to be stupid, im not gonna say something will happen. Im gonna show you how bad shit can be" kinda like when they make you pretend to get a dui in highschool. Also sombody else please tell me your highschool make you recreate an accident. With a real smashed car like it was a dui. 2010
a gun is a tool made by humans to be used we humans give it a purpose if you use it to hunt then its purpose is hunting if you are a soldier its purpose is to kill if you use it for self defence then its purpose is self defence
Gun safety use to be taught in American schools
PAPA KALASH
The testosterone in this video is so low Brandon Herrera needs to fill in.
hes also known as ak guy
I ALWAYS laugh maniacally when l cheat death. Why don't you?
Moar.
I could be wrong but I think that was an anti tank mine, they only go off if a vehicle drives over them (usually)
They're so yuppie liberal it's kind of adorable.
