      I kinda want to start getting into it, there is a racetrack near my house and i want to see if there is a way I could flag for them, it sounds like fun, not only do I get to see the race I participate as well. Sounds like a good time. By the way are you still at the same place?

    at my track the waver uses green and yellow crossed and flicked back and fourth or holds green in one and yellow in the other and does circles with the flags faced upwards or holds out and flick his pointer finger back and fourth

    some drivers should get this review.. especially for that blue flag with the yellow diagonal.. However, I sometimes wonder how easy it is for drivers, in the heat (and dust) of drivin to see those flags..

    Great video it's funny with the blue flag with the yellow strip I heard a commentator describe it a signal to the driver that are about to be lapped as there a race for the lead and you're not apart of it.

    whats the black flag for?

  • @chrisstormsmusic
    @chrisstormsmusic 4 месяца назад

    Since he never did end up saying what the black flag was used for which its actually a very crucial flag to know too. The black flag is used to order a driver to pit ASAP, typically due to endangering other drivers and or dangerous driving and are then disqualified.

    Cool. With one way radio communication from race officials to drivers, how does that synch with the flag man? Does he have a mic? Does the race steward have the mic? Who calls the yellow first, flagman or steward?

      Yellows are generally called by local marshal posts.

      Radios from race control direct to drivers are pretty rare. Some series require the crew chief to be on the same net as race control. The crew chief will then pass a message to the driver. The Flagman is usually on the race net for two-way communication. Currently there are a couple of communications systems under development that will place a display in the car which indicates flag conditions. They are marketing to road racers not oval tracks.

    And yet he never said what the black flag meant.

      It usually means disqualification..
      NASCAR has 2 types of black flags.
      1. Regular black flag: usually means that you have to serve a penalty in the pits
      2. Black flag with an X: nascar has stopped scoring a vehicle for some reason. ( most likely not adhering to a black flag).

    What are the flags made out of

    • @brucebeauvais1324
      @brucebeauvais1324 3 года назад

      Usually either cotton or nylon. Cotton is less expensive, less durable and takes longer to dry when wet. Nylon can be either a plain nylon material , some people use ripstop nylon for additional durability. Plain nylon and ripstop wave differently due to the weight of the material. Some flagman contract their flag sewing. Some purchase from flag vendors.
