    - Ask for their business card first
    - Tell them that YOU contact them the next day
    - Don't give away any information about you
    - DO NOT go with them straight away
    - Ask your parents (or else) and do your research about them.

@@inzane456 It's like one of the girls pointed out, some of these girls are coming from other parts of Japan that are more rural and don't know these types of practices exist. So when they're approached, they believe that these offers are sincere since they're so foreign to them, they may also come from places were scams aren't common and people are more trust-worthy. When pushed to do porn, they may find themselves overwhelmed and will be manipulated more easily than other women--or it could be that the girls who fall for it more are younger. Similar scams exist when it comes to Latin America and sex trafficking. Girls from poor towns are told that they'll be sent to the city to do labor and bring in more money to help their parents but when they go their sold off as sex slaves and never seen again--I don't blame the women and men who fall for these things because they're not in the position of power nor have they been educated on scams like these. It's a very sad situation actually.

    • @inzane456
      @inzane456 3 года назад +2

@@GingerTurquoise Indeed, many are clueless due to their background to the potential of what can happen when they deal with dubious characters. It is understandable too, but again, how can they allow themselves to fall prey when they have every bit of freedom they need to take care of themselves? Why is it that they cannot be held liable for taking preventative measures?
I agree that if the preventative measures fail they have taken do fail and they still become victims to coercion in the underground, then definitely do not put the entire weight of the crime as being their doing. It is definitely the criminal's doing, and that they should be punished and pressured with the weight of their crime.
But does that latter mean they should not take responsibility and liability for their own preventive measures? I don't think so.

I grew up in an affluent part of Los Angeles. Once, when I was in graduate school, I was late to pay my electricity bill. The city sent me a notice that they would shut it off that day. So, I went to the office to pay. There, I met a man who told me he thought I should do modeling. He was a photographer and would do some pictures for free. I was young and flattered. So, I went a week later to get pictures taken. It started off normal but got kinky after a while--wanted me to try on swimwear, underwear. I just took the film out of his camera and exposed it to the light. I had no clue at the beginning but it suddenly occurred to me that this was headed in a porn-y direction. And whenever I passed by that office, I noticed that the same guy was hanging around approaching young, good-looking guys.

Stop always playing the victim. The problem with majority of women is that they don't want to acknowledge they are at fault or partly at fault. You think you are saints that you can never be blame?
The reason we are being educated is to prevent and stop us from being victims of scams etc. If you still want to be naive and gullible, it is totally tour fault.
For example, if your teachers taught you in school to prepare you for your exam, but you slack and ignorance about it and you fail your exams, are your teachers to blame or the exams to blame for your failure? None. It is your fault for slacking and not studying. So don't go and cry and blame your teachers or exams for making you fail. It is your own undoing.

@@bigbadcalamity721 I don't think being naive or gullible is great. Obviously, I think educating people so they can avoid getting scammed is important. But how is it that between the women and these scammers, the women are more to blame? Scammers who are intentionally out there to deceive people shouldn't be blamed? They're not wrong? Women should stop being gullible but scammers are okay to keep on scamming?
Also, the comparison to a teacher is quite unfair. A teacher doing his/her job to prepare exams is not the same thing as a scammer intentionally trying to trick and deceive people into doing something they didn't sign up for.

Sorry if this offend you but i think you are a little dumb you are missing my point. It is not about the teachers, it is about yourself. You are responsible for the decisions you made. If you slack and didn't study. You know some exam questions are hard and tricky to mislead you into mistakes. So is it going to become the exams fault?

Again, the goal of the exam is to test you to become a better student. The goal of a scammer is to purposefully deceive and lie to a human being. Again, they aren't the same thing.

I agree that a portion of the blame falls of the girls too for not researching properly, and they should take responsibility for their actions, but 90% of the blame falls on the perpetrators. And yes, anyone with an iota of common sense would not agree to follow a stranger blindly, but you have to understand that these scouts - because it's their job - are literally trained to deceive you with tactics to essentially coerce you to agree. Their words hold weight because it actually is a modelling gig. They just don't tell you the other side of it.

Cause I didnt wanna go somewhere with him. He said he would walk me home. I said no thank you, cause I wasn't interested, but he insisted, so I just let him walk me until Shin Okubo (which is quite close). I then said I had to go and he asked me about being a model and I was quite surprised and of course a bit happy so I said well this is my number. He then send me LINE and then sent me pictures of NSFW swimsuit models and asked me if I wanted to become one. Never replied. End of story lol.

I hate to say, when I was living in Tokyo, I saw this quite frequently when I came back from bar around 5-6AM (during the times the train started running) in Kabukichou, and it was actually quite violent and aggressive to my surprise. The "recruiters" came all the way to the main Shinjuku east side station (main train station in Tokyo) and FOLLOWED the girls there, and kept harassing them, asking and convincing if they would change their current work (mostly kyaba'jo) to another shop or another industry. WHEN THE GIRLS WERE GOING BACK HOME, the guys were waiting for them in the streets and approached them as soon as they passed by and started circling them and blocking their way. If it had been in the western country, you could've filed it for sexual harassment for sure. The girls looked upset when they tried to ignore it. I thought it was so disturbing and unexpected of Japan. And sometimes I gave the guys the "bad eye", but they just look at me and didn't care, they just kept persisting on their job. Really annoying people, to be honest.

I totally enjoyed the young man at the end that had great advice on how to avoid shady scouts like this. He is so smart, wise and can never be taken for a fool.
He said get the business card, don’t go anywhere with anyone straight away. Tell them you’ll talk to them the next day....run it by your parents and check online.
Girls who are lured do it for the money.....let’s keep it real here.

I know how shady Asian business men can be. I worked as an ESL teacher and used recruiting agencies. Common tactics used included having you work illegally without a visa so they could get away without having to pay you, because they knew you wouldn't complain to the authorities; having you sign agreements that wern't in English; making you feel 'impolite' and 'culturally insensitive' for negotiating salary; and breaking contract in the last month so that they wouldn't have to give you severance pay.
