Greatest film EVER made. Emilio estevez will "make ya famous" and that's exactly what he did for billy the kid. He brought Billy's name back. Made him a hero again. The fact that billy was in some ways a hero and a legend of his time...over the passing of time people forgot his name. That was until Emilio Estevez gave his legend life again. If I could rewind to any time in history it would be to go back and shake William H. Bonney' hand and ride with him till the death. 💯🤜🤛

I never enjoyed better company. He was humorous and told me many amusing stories. He always found a touch of humor in everything, being naturally full of fun and jollity. Though he was serious in emergencies, his humor was often apparent even in such situations. Billy stood with us to the end, brave and reliable, one of the best soldiers we had. He never pushed in his advice or opinions, but he had a wonderful presence of mind. The tighter the place the more he showed his cool nerve and quick brain. He never seemed to care for money, except to buy cartridges with. Cartridges were scarce, and he always used about ten times as many as everyone else. He would practice shooting at anything he saw, from every conceivable angle, on and off his horse.
Pat garret didn't kill Billy the kid cop or not they was too good of friends oh I'm sure pat killed somebody that day but it wasn't billy , Billy lived to be old and died years years later under an assumed name
Emilio did a great job at portraying that I think.
Only Emilio could play Billy the kid and make it a legendary film

Watching these clips from both Young Guns & Y. G. O II definitely has me wanting to add these to my little DVD library. Thank you to everyone involved in making both movies. Emilio, Lou, Christian, Charlie, Casey, Durmont, William, Terry & so many others that were perfect for their roles, an awesome movie that will continue to stand the test of Westerns for year's to come. Can't go wrong with a great one like these.

He pretty much was a hero. The only people he killed were really bad people, who intimidated, robbed, and killed other people. Especially Lawrence Murphy

YG2 is probably my favourite film ever, but YG1 gets overlooked so am going to watch it again this week.
Yeah YG2 is a rare example of a sequel being even better than the original film. YG was a great movie, but YG2 had a bigger budget, a better soundtrack, and even more A list actors. Not to mention it's visually stunning

If you get a chance, go to Ft Sumner and check out his grave. It's quite an experience to stand there so close. There is a small cage around it, but you can get great pics. Go on a Sunday when it's quiet.

@Gardner Barnes yes you are bloody wrong. History indicates that many of those sentenced to transportation to Australia had committed menial offences (to alleviate tbe overcrowding of the English prisons) rather than the scores of "thugs and such". Whether it matters or not is an entirely different issue.

Not exactly the authentic history, but fairly accurate stylized accountings in these two movies. For instance, the 'Regulators were formed quite a bit later than depicted in the movies. They were formed as a retributative faction of the 'Lincoln County Wars,' they were seeking retribution for the unlawful murder and sacking of John Tunstall and his property earlier in the actual history.
Yeah, I read up on, and studied the history 'because' of these movies... Considering they are 'close' to the real story, (except for Hollywood taking some entertainment properties and licenses) it is still probably the closest to a real story in comparison to all other 'fake' westerns. And yet still is the best of all. YG 1&2, closely followed by Tombstone. All 3 are a must have imo. For western fans, and non western fans alike.
